Yellowstone National Park - Gallatin-Fawn Pass-Sky Rim | 6-day Backpacking Report

- This is the full length trip report with natural sounds and on-trail commentary from a trip that I took to Yellowstone National Park in August 2023. I hiked a route that included Gallatin River, Fawn Pass, Gardner River, Electric Pass, Sportsman Cabin, High Lake, Crescent Lake, Shelf Lake, Sky Rim, Daly Cabin and more.
Starting from Bighorn Pass Trailhead the route totaled around 60 miles. My campsites were WB1, 1G4, WD1, WE5 & WF1.

Thanks for sharing what you love 32. Myownfrontier was a huge inspiration for my channel. The consistency is one of the things I am proud of - except for a short planned break I have posted at least 1 backpacking trip report video per month for nearly 5 years now. More to come!

Great video. I have never been to that (very large) corner of the Park, so it was enjoyable to see it vicariously through your eyes. RIP to the Visor.
Thanks Daniel, like I said this was my first visit to that corner as well. I guess there isn’t much reason to go up that way unless you’re specifically heading to see the Gallatin area! RIP Neuse Visor 🙏

Hey, Layne! Finally got time to sit down and watch this one. As usual, another great trip report. Additionally, I really appreciate your response to @RhodySeth about through hiking. I had wondered the same thing and your answer was on point. Besides, the through hikers I've met smelled funny. 😂

Another fantastic trip. Footprints a' plenty. You ever think about thru-hiking? Probably too many people to encounter, ammirite?
I have lots of buddies who thru hike, incredible achievements, not my cup of tea at all. The most politically correct way I can explain it is like this: Do you know how long the average CDT thru-hiker spends in Yellowstone? 2 days. I spent 6 weeks. Do you know how long the average CDT thru-hiker spends in Glacier? 3 days. I spent a month. I enjoy wilderness immersion, building routes, and not seeing people.

Thank you Haley, that is a very nice offer! I appreciate it. Fortunately I was at Neuses not too long ago and was able to get a new one. So I'll have a couple videos come out with a different visor but then it'll be back to business
