He's a Dr. That's his job. He has to explain complicated medical phenomenon to his patents so they can have informed consent on how best to proceed.

cheers to all startups based up on scientific basis, you just know they're the hardest to convince someone with, yet your talent and simplicity to convey is what makes all the business deals seem logical.

They are going to be bought by a big pharmsutical that will back it and they have the power to make orginizations like the cdc and other major health orginization to back it aswell. Any new invention that acctually works are always bought out by big pharmaceuticals. Then they either sell it themselves for wayyyy more or they destroy it if it affects them negatively
There is no science involved in what he create. Its just creative marketing similar to when amazon created cloud solution rebranding a technology that has been available since the internet was born. You are missing the nonsense with the pitch.
This is a novelty product and serves little to no purpose since drinking water through a straw prevents air from getting in which is what promotes the hiccups and thats what he is claiming that this special straw does. Dont be bamboozled into every nonsense gadget with a guy who has a bit of education because there are a million doctors around

I was convinced the second they finished their pitch that they were going to get roasted lol. So often people come in with other peoples studies and research and apply it to their product and assume it works for them too. Great job coming in with the proper scientific research and studies done, testimonials and clearly a knowledgeable and clearly credible doctor on your side. Very cool and interesting product. I hope it helps a lot of people.

Mark knew how to close the deal and I do believe he believed in the product more than the other ones so I would have went. with him too.
I love how other times Mark will say, "it would be stupid to not listen to other offers, etc" but times like this it yes or no right now.

Mark is really a great negotiator. Knows the value he is bringing, makes sure the company knows of his value and then thinking of losing out on mark would just push you to make a deal.

Mark is my favorite shark but I agree, I think Lori would have been the better partner for retail. But Mark offers deals that conserve their equity. Also everybody has had Hiccups before so Daymond is not special with that

It was one of the best scientific inventions I've ever seen on the shark tanks. There is a growing number of publications coming up supporting the idea behind this. Dr. Seifi did a great job. Ive always held my breath to get rid of hiccups and this worked for me for the last 20 years.
I’ve had really bad ones where that doesn’t work and the method that always worked for me was cup of water, covered with a Paper towel (1) and you drink the water through the paper towel. I think this device does the same thing but most sophisticated device

Learned how to get rid of hiccups in 3rd grade by my teacher. Has worked 100% of the time and for every person I've ever taught.
1. Hold your breathe for 10 seconds
2. Drink Water for 5 seconds right away
3. Hold you breathe for another 10 seconds
- No hiccuping in between. Can honestly do 5,5,5 seconds too. but 10,5,10 for 100% accuracy.
You literally take two deep breaths in and one out. It works everytime
For you. Some people get bad ones. Another trick is paper towel over a cup and drink water through it. Does what this pen does

Now they have two offers. Mark got owned too and had to wait after that because if he went out he would've just lost it.

I have cronic hiccups, about 50 times a day. And that straw really helps. But only for a time. They always come back, but the individual "attacks" are always stopped by the straw.
BUT it leaves a weird feeling in my diaphragm. Imagine when you have a sneeze in your nose and it tingles but it won't come out. Basically it's the same in the diaphragm.
Just try Lemon juice or fruit it will cure immediately, i have a chronic hiccups too i always drink or ate Lemon or another sour fruits it works well perfectly.
This could be like a toothbrush: Everyone carrying one. Only that there is only one company providing these globally. This is amazing.

Exactly this. The solution was published in medical journals back in 2004. Paying money to get rid of the hiccups is foolish. Breathe in, hold ten seconds, breathe in again without exhaling, pause for 1-2 seconds, and breathe in a third time. Works 100% of the time, all the time, by creating positive airway pressure and calming the diaphragm - exactly what this guy is claiming he designed a straw to do, simple breathing techniques do for free.
HOlding your breath for ten minutes will definitely work, I guarantee it.

I started using Apple cider vinegar for hiccups. You just take a sip of the raw vinegar. It’s not fun but it works for me every single time. Maybe it’s placebo but it works.

I just stand up straight, suck in a bunch of air and hold it. Inhale/sip more air stretching out my lung capacity and creating some slight pressure and hold it for longer. Then release and exhale and the hiccups are gone. Works 100% of the time.
