Have you considered playing"Daze before Christmas" for the holidays? It is available on both Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis. It is actually a pretty good game. Probably the best retro Christmas game there is.
Yes! Daze before christmas is amazing! I play it every year around christmas it is a tradition with me like watching the grinch on christmas is for other people.
Yup, this game for example looks significantly better on a CRT. It's a shame younger people will never know. Really. Also, people who say "no lag" with emulators don't know what they're talking about. There's always added latency with emulation. Always.
the darius games are my favourite shmups.. darius gaiden on the saturn being my favourite. hell shooters are too much for me, i feel like anyone can pick up and play the gaiden games and at least clear a few levels and feel competent and that makes you just want to keep trying to clear the whole thing. funky concept of fish robots

You can be either pick NORAD or WARP forces to play as, and you control units on both sides, like tanks, jets, walkers, so on. I think you'd like it.
So what you want to do is save your super beam for when a boss shoots their's You want to hit their beam with yours and then jones on the button, you will absorb their beam, the beam will grow in size, and you will deal more damage, this is important for harder difficulties.
Gaiden is definitely more beautiful; but this the Darius I come back to the most. It's just a slight bit more forgiving and the capture mechanic gives it a nice twist (and also means you're a little less screwed on respawn.)
Hey Mike, Have you ever played Looney Tunes Sheep Raider on PS1? Its actually a pretty fun game, and I think it would make for a fun stream. Love your stuff, thanks.
I love this game, it's freaking badass. Also Mike, if you are going to continue playing this game I recommend the ports in modern consoles (Switch,PS4,PC), it is a very accurate emulation of the arcade version and runs better than this. Also has a bunch of conveniences like being able to see the life and commands of your captures. Just letting y'all know that exists.
Love the different paths you can take along the way and wish more games would do that. Dunno if the different paths lead to different endings (like Contra: Hard Corps) but that is something that would offer a lot of replay value for me. Still need to get a start on shmups somehow: the only ones I really devoted some time to are classic fixed screen shmups like Galaxian, King & Balloon, Sasuke vs. Commander and the like but not yet gone into the level-based shmups that came later. Still plan to do this but still need to find some place to start. Game that is missing from your Games I've Beaten On Stream list: -The Legend of Zelda: Allhallows Eve (SNES Hacks/Homebrews/Unreleased) -Star Fox 64 (N64)

Aspartame better than sugar? Sometimes yeah. I just bought a diet gingerale, instead of the regular. Well, water is probably better than both of them. If you want soda and you don't want sugar, a diet soda, it's good. That's a good life hack for trying to make sugar lower
PS1 has a lot of treats especially in the Shmup department

Love the Darius series from what I've played. Darius Burst is a must play whenever I stop by the Galloping Ghost Arcade

I live in Tokyo, and always enjoy watching people no-death complete the Darius games. In fact, if you can’t, you get deported.

G stands for Genesis because story wise this game takes place before the other Darius Games.🙂

Have you played Sky Racket on Switch? it’s a cross between a shmup and pong. Good luck with the 4th boss. He’s tough. Fun game. Trippy as hell.
