This song was in movies about the Vietnam War. It speaks to the fact that if you were the fortunate son of a rich family, daddy could keep you from being drafted
75 I am I was one of the unfortunate ones. Came home with my body intact my mind not so much. Pray for PEACE you don't want your children going to war.
God bless you sir and thank you for your service. My Dad was also in the Vietnam War but he was on a submarine so he never actually stepped foot on Vietnam soil. He got the medal though. Until the day he died he would never divulge any of his sub secrets.
Bless you and your father. We don't talk about war to those that were not there because we can't put that horror show on the minds of people we love. My family has never heard anything from me and never will. These are my nightmares that you don't want to pass to anyone. Pretty sure your pops felt the same. Pray for PEACE.
I love to see the reaction of folks who are hearing some of the classic rock from the late 60's for the first time. I am 75 and this is what I grew up with. CCR like many rock bands of the era were making music about the people's reaction to the Vietnam War. If you ever watched the Robin Williams movie "Good Morning Vietnam" you will lots of the music from the time. He plays a military DJ in Vietnam spinning disks for the troops. . . great movie.
CCR is from Northern California. The lead singer was John Fogerty. The song is usually associate with the Vietnam War. John is a solo singer now and even in his 70's he is still out there performing.
CCR was from CA. Most thought more likely Louisiana due to JC's vocals and songs like "Born On The Bayou", "Bad Moon Rising", "Proud Mary", "Green River", etc. Their music was even called "swamp rock" by some.
Songs opposing the war, helped us get out of Vietnam. Millions of young people protested. Keep in mind, they drafted young men. All young men had to register for the draft on your 18th birthday.
CCR is one of the all time GREATEST rock bands . Check out what they accomplished in roughly 5 years they were together . They were actually from California , but took on a Louisiana identity in their music and in Fogarty's accent when singing .
Can't wait till you 2 hear their real big hits !!! "Bad Moon Rising" , "Proud Mary" , I heard it through the grapevine" just to name a couple of their great songs list !!!!
CCR sound like they're from the deep South, but they're actually from El Cerrito, Ca. Many of their songs have refences to swamps, rivers and bayous and their music has a swampy vibe and has been called "Swamp Rock". They were led by John Fogerty on lead vocals and lead guitar who also wrote nearly all their songs and was the band's producer. John still records and tours to this day with a band featuring his sons.
I'm so jealous I wish I could go back and experience this music for the first time ccr had many great songs to many to list run through the jungle one of my favorites also a war sonb
Should do "Bad Moon Rising" next. Fortunate Son has been in many movies, not just one. And in TV shows too. I'm surprised you didn't recognize it right away. It's a Vietnam War protest song.
Their from CA, formed in 1968. Actually their still one of my favorite groups ever. John Fogerty is one of the greatest singers ever. The whole band is great tho. Their sound regarded as swamp rock. Many many very good songs. Up around the Bend, Proud Mary, Born on the Bayou,Traveling Band and more. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and surely deserved it.
Great reaction ! This group is the greatest rock band of all-time ! Stones are the greatest band but these guys ( 3 years ) were unreal ! PEACE TO THE WORLD !
@@musicguy694 Right and Taylor Swift is better than The Beatles ! I love The Who Saw them 6 times in the late 60s and early 70s ! Greatest live group and I saw them all ! I'm just kidding about who the best was ! I think they were all great ! Just a great time to grow up with this music ! PEACE !
A search of the band’s name reveals that Tom Fogerty had a friend, Credence. They just altered the name a little. And there apparently was a beer commercial in which the term clear water was used. And lastly, revival, because a couple members just got out of the military and were reviving their careers. I guess that’s all true.
I remember on the day each year when they had the lottery for the draft, every male of draft age, their parents, wives, girlfriends all held their breaths waiting for the numbers.
Glad to see you back and you are picking up subs quickly. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 John Fogerty loved him too. Before CCR they were The Blue Velvets. Movies you have heard CCR are THE TITANS, THE LONGEST YARD, THE EXPENDABLES. and FORREST GUMP.
I recomend you guys check out some Stirgil Simpson. Nobody has music just like CCR but Stirgil has music that could be classified in the same type of group? Maybey kinda? He leans alittle more country. But i do recomend watching his video weather it be his official music video of "Turtles all the way down" or just a live performance he might have dun of "You can have the crown" or "Life aint fair". But i think you will enjoy him very much. He is a showman.
This song was basically a giant middle finger to authority and the Vietnam war. Still f@#$"_ rocks. You guys can spend a lot of time on CCR. Lodi is my favorite. Forrest Gump for sure. Any Vietnam war movie
Yeah, our channel got deleted and we had to re start from the ground up! We learned a lot and we are back for good! So glad you found us! -Ashley & Jonny

Great reaction! John Fogerty has one of the most unforgettable voices in rock and roll! CCR music appears in lots of movies about the Vietnam War.

My parents' favorite band. The running joke is: "What Vietnam war movie was this in"? Punchline: "All of them."
Songs opposing the war, helped us get out of Vietnam. Millions of young people protested. Keep in mind, they drafted young men. All young men had to register for the draft on your 18th birthday.
Their cover of Heard It Through The Grapevine is a must for you guys to review!
