- A dream is coming true, we are creating Choco Maintain from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe-DLC with real Chocolate and polymer clay. This is one of my favorite tracks in Mario Kart since I played it on my N64 with my brother sooo many years ago…

That’s a really neat idea, making miniature versions of the tracks! I can’t even imagine making tiny drivers for the course, considering how small some of the elements are (like the coins).

@@tribot_leader 0.6% per coin, so 6% for all 10 coins. This is roughly the equivalent of the difference between the slowest character's stats and the fastest.
Great video as always clayclaim: this is a really detailed creation! 15:26 the reason there are coins on the map is that you get a very slightly (unnoticeable until someone with more coins than you overtakes you) increase in speed the more of them you have. I didn't know this for a long time either.
I guess we all were waiting much more for your video than for DLC 😃
9:00 I’ve been wondering about that lately, too, and I think the current canon, at least in the mind(s) of whoever designed this version of the track, is that it’s called Choco Mountain just because the rocks are brown _like_ chocolate, not because it’s actually chocolate. There’s much more regular vegetation like trees and grass than there is in more indisputably sugar-based Mario areas, which normally have Piranha Plants and tree-like lollipops at most. Also, driving on the off-road in this track produces more dust than the chocolate frosting in Sweet Sweet Canyon, another, more clearly candy-based course from Mario Kart 8.
15:45 Coins in Mario Kart increase your top speed a bit, it’s important to try to stay at the maximum coin count of 10 as much as you can.
Great sculpture! The simple, cartoony texturing style the developers decided to go with for this DLC lends itself really well to clay sculpting.

In case you’re still wondering; You collect Coins in Mario Kart for two reasons!
1. Each Coin collected raises your Top Speed by 1%. Racers can only hold up to 10 coins every race, so your kart can go up to 10% faster
2. You Bank all the coins you collected at the end of a race. If you get enough Coins, you get more Car parts, like Wheels and Gliders!
This clay miniature is absolutely amazing, and I love your work by the way! It’s so relaxing and satisfying to watch, and it’s so faithful to its source
So interesting seeing mario kart tour’s rendition of choco mountain in such a small scale!
I can explain the coins. It raises your acceleration, making a driver significantly faster. It's also a collectable to unlock the gold glider. This is an outstanding video and I hope you do more and find a playlist so you won't be hearing Choco Mountain on loop.
Choco mountain is one of my favourite Mk tracks if not my favourite! Its a real chocolate mountain! Amazing sculpt!

This is an incredible masterpiece! Choco Mountain is my all time favorite Mario Kart stage, and I knew I had to sit back and watch every second of you sculpting this into a little figurine! Keep up the great work, and I hope to see more tracks as little figurines in the future.

About the coins: If you collect them you gain a bit more speed so if you have the max. of 10 coins you will be slighty faster.

I live these videos where you work on projects that are more personal to you-your rayman creation is one of my favorite of your videos. It Also It's probably been said hundreds of times but coins increase your acceleration, and slightly increase your overall speed. If you get hit with 10 coins, you speed up much faster than if you have a few less.
This guy has such beautiful eyes! Anyway, I love the way it turned out! I’m so impressed with how well he can work with such small pieces of clay! And finally I’m glad that choco mountain made its come back it was my favorite course on the DS version
Also you collect the coins to unlock kart customizations and if you get 10 coins in a race you will get a speed increase!

Well you collect coins to get those little seemingly random speed boosts. Every 10 coins, you get that speed boost forlike 3 seconds.

The coins make you go faster :) the maximum is 10, that's your ultimate top speed :)
Collecting coins gives you a very slight increase to your top speed having 10 gives you a bigger one

@clayClaim the idea behind the coins, you can collect in Mario Kart is, you gain more speed the more coins you have from 0-10. every other coin (if you have already 10, counts for the Ingame Counter. for every 100 coins you'll get an item for the cart).
and it's a really nice build. i like it
This is very very creative
The coins make you faster the more you have PLUS they give you a tiny speed boost when you collect them (you can even see some of those white lines when you use a mushroom they’re just not as noticeable).
Also the design is reminiscent of the Chocolate Island tracks in Super Mario Kart, personally I think it’s even likely the track is somewhere on Chocolate Island from Super Mario World (that is what the Chocolate Island tracks in Super Mario Kart are based off of after all) on like a lore perspective.
