Hello Regenerates! I'm touched by your comments. Actually rather shocked at the positive response. Thank you. As someone who has also been challenged by a medical condition, Fibromyalgia, and recently cancer, I know that 'reaching out' and actually accepting support, can be hard, if one is as stubborn as me! I went to the some University as Ren in the 1980s, then helped there again set up the degree program that he went on and graduated from in 2012. I was lucky and met Hans Zimmer (who posted a lovely message on my Facebook the other day!) / Peter Gabriel and others who helped me grow and develop my own musical voice. I had always, since a kid, wanted to work on something with David Attenborough. Crazy. But I did, four times in fact, after years and years of sweat / tears / luck and trying to be nice! My personal turning point with Ren's work wasn't the music... it was when the second suitcase was opened at the end of the treasure hunt to reveal an APPLE. As an LGBTQ Christian (yep, what a mess :-) and Ren as an 'agnostic', I connected with his incredible interpretation of Eden. It is extra-ordinary work. Period. I sent the link immediately to our Vicar here in the sleepy village of Box, near Bath, and his response was awesome. So, Ren's magic, or wherever he gets it from, works. He will RegENerate. We love Ren at our house. He is well loved and each of my family members are worried for him. He has touched our lives in a way we don't fully understand. But we love him as if he belonged in my family. I have really been thankful for Ren's music personally because of all of the issues he touches on. I have mental & physical issues, chronic pain with a degenerative disease in my spine. I was born with my spine not fused to my coxxyx (tailbone for people who don't know). I feel so bad for Ren and we are thinking and praying for him. ❤🙏 Thank you for your video!
I hope that Ren gets to see this beautiful video! I think seeing an older and distinguished gentleman wearing a sick boi jacket would bring him some joy. I have been toying with the idea of getting a jacket myself but have shied away from it believing I am too old. Thank you Rodger❤ I've been following Ren since 2017 originally found him from his story and then the music came after. I've never connected more with an artist he is such inspiration and I wish him well and hope he gets better soon. I live in Louisiana hopefully I get to see him busking One day here in New Orleans❤❤❤

There’s no doubt in my mind that all the stress surrounding Sick Boi played a huge part in our friend’s relapse. I’m literally gutted and praying for Ren and his faithful team of friends as they navigate through this difficult time 🙏🏻🇺🇸💫
With luck and love my wish is Ren to regain his confidence. Confidence in himself, his recovery, his fan community, and in a large percent of the human race. Already he has enlarged the percentage of humans that choose to be nice, be kind and be better. He is the living example that those options exist. And yes even how at times being angry is fine when channeled well.
Whilst the Kujo situation was incredibly stressful for Ren, I don't think it was the only factor leading to Ren's relapse. The blood tests from Canada already showed that the anti-biotic treatments he had been taking for months, had not cleared up the Lyme co-infection Bartonella. And some of his symptoms had started returning. Ren pushed himself hard to stage his Secret Garden Party performance but it did not go as well as he had planned, due largely to his sound engineers messing up. Worse than that, he was unable to release the planned for footage because the sound quality was not good enough. So he was working his ass off despite massive stress, disappointment, and his symptoms returning - he did his first ever TV performance on the Sky Arts Awards programme. He was working on numerous other projects including a new song release, completing the Slaughterhouse album, and wanting to film his latest "tales" project before returning to Canada (no doubt he was working on other things as well e.g. collaborations etc). The workloads that he took on would be difficult for a healthy person, but with his illness returning and all the other sources of stress, it seems like it was all too much for him. Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that Kujo was not to blame for a large part of Ren's stress, of course he was. But I think a number of other factors combined to put Ren where he is now. All that we can do now is to hope that, with patience, and support from his group of friends, and with enough rest, and the correct medical treatment, he can recover as soon as possible
Thank you for your love and support of our Ren. The man, the myth, the true legend!! I do believe Ren also pushes himself way harder than he should. He seems the type of artist who really cares for his flock of Renegades. He's an inspiration and I am old. Ren and the Renegades have renewed my hope in humanity. We will keep his numbers up on all his songs on all different platforms. We will support him from the sidelines. We will patiently wait for him to get healthy and keep spreading his music and the love ❤. I completely agree with you. Also I saw in a couple of videos he was smoking and he got the tattoos. I heard that the ink from the tattoos goes through your bloodstream. So I think because of his health issues he has to be more careful with everything. Sending him love and healing thoughts. 🙏❤️

I really love what you’ve done here. Ren’s bloodwork did come back positive for a Lyme co-infection called Bartonella. So, it was still in his system. However, I believe the extreme stress created by Kujobeats is the reason Ren’s symptoms came back with such ferocity. I hope that Karma rains down on Kujo like the fires of hell. Sorry, but it’s the truth. I hope that Ren feels the love “we” have all been sending his direction. He isn’t alone. He has “us”. From what I understand, Ren’s blood-work came back saying he still has Lyme disease. Later his symptoms started coming back. It is possible that the stress made the symptoms come back sooner, maybe not. So I wouldn’t say that the situation did cause it cause you really don’t know for sure. Nice video
I agree. I also have an immuno thingy, obviously different, however after some nine years of it, I have noticed a pattern where (or if!) stress is involved. Disease can often be 'dis-ease' and I can hold my hand up to that, seeing as I also live in 'exile'. Just have to get on with it, and as a musician too (who helped to set up the degree course that Ren went on, as a weird coincidence!!) I feel for him.
Stress does play a big part in autoimmune issues and it is very possible this made it much, much worse for Ren. You could tell he was very hurt by the entire situation. I believe his blood work showed a co-infection, bartonella, which is what Ren said in one post.
Stress 100% plays a HUGE role in autoimmune diseases/disorders. It can do damage to “healthy” people. Some autoimmune diseases can go into remission and can be triggered and flare up again. Since Lyme disease is still largely understudied and therefore not understood it could turn out to be that Lyme disease is one such autoimmune condition that cannot be cured but can go in and out of remission? But the big take away here is to never underestimate the power of stress on the mind and the body! On a different health matter but one that is an example of the power of stress on the human mind and body is what it can do to a woman trying to fall pregnant. It can render a woman “infertile”. However there are so many stories of women who spent years trying to have a baby and spent thousands of dollars on IVF treatments but then as soon as she resigns herself to the fact that she can not have children, ie no longer stressing, boom she falls pregnant! Thankfully I know this first hand as I am one of those women. But I was also diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when that baby was 2yo, she is now 20yo and I have been lucky enough to have had a period of remission but after a couple of back to back stressful situations I am currently no longer in remission. Now whether or not the stress of trying for so long to have a baby caused my autoimmune disease? It can’t be proven but my doctor did not rule it out and likewise did the later period of stress cause me to come out of remission? Again not enough is known in the medical field about autoimmunity but my doctor says most likely. Given disease literally means dis-ease, with “dis” meaning: not or opposite of, to me it is common sense that stress causes the opposite of ease. Being a Ren fan I am hoping and praying that Lyme disease can be cured and therefore he will get cured but if not I pray that it is the type that can go into remission.

I hear you, but that may be an oversimplification. I think there are many contributing factors to his current illness. That said, I think he is a brave hard-working boi, and I wish him the absolute best.

As a Principle Voting Member, with additional rights, of the PRS / MCPS, it is part of out duty to make the minefield of copyright clear for all, especially new aspiring musicians, many of which will be huge fans of Ren's work. So I just hope it has helped someone along the way :-)
Ren is resting, the bartonella is back but he's still working. He has a project with some SGP videos. He resently told us. He exercise and eat properly to regain his strength. Probably burned out at the moment with a lot of thoughts but I think he's terminated to beat this on another level. He didn't need any financial support in any way from the Renegades. I
