    Very nice. Had a '76 notch GT when they were new, fun ride and could burn the tires through 3rd. gear. OBTW the rod dampeners have came off in your doors, hence the rattle. when closing.

    Hello,
    I'm Stype from a TH-cam channel called TopCars TV. It's about car countdowns, Top10, Top7, etc... currently at 118,000 subs and growing.
    Right now I'm working on a new video about the prettiest Japanese cars and I reckon this early Toyota Celica is one of them.
    It's a rare car and there aren't many creative commons I could work with, so can I'm asking for permission to use your video for some B-Roll clips?
    I need about 10 seconds of the material.
    In return, I would put a watermark source in the corner when your clip is playing, special thanks in the credits at the end, and a link in the description (your YT or IG).
    Let me know,
    Thanks.

    Why does it seem that on the TV series most of the episodes are Nissan(datson) related? In the JDM marketplace are Nissan s that much more popular??

    Why why can't the car business manufacturer recreate this same similar design AGAIN???

    I've seen Celica with a Lexus V8 engine but I've wonder what happened if you put a Chrysler Ford or GM V8 engine in a Toyota Celica from the 70's and 80's models as a sleeper

    I had a ' 76 hatchback back in the day. I really liked that car, except it was an ugly beige color. Would love to know more about this one and see JDM Legends build one.

      Yeah, the Brits really liked that crappy tan/beige color, too! Both of my collectables were ironically ugly tan! '67 Europa that was originally tan, now red...and a '70 Datsun 510 that was tan, now orange.

    Isn't this a TA23 with the longer wheelbase and facelifted bonnet? TA22's had side vents in the bonnet. Owned several of these back when they were ridiculously cheap in the late 80's.

    • @jdmlegends3797
      @jdmlegends3797  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The TA23 was the export model with the same body and single cam engine, the TA22 was the Japanese domestic model with the twin cam 2T-G.

    It’s not a TA22 Celica it’s an RA23

    • @jdmlegends3797
      @jdmlegends3797  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      RA23 is the U.S. market Celica with the 2T engine, this is a Japanese market TA22 with the twin-cam 2T-G. TA22 is listed on the VIN plate.

    • @Bawkr
      @Bawkr 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      TA22 is used as slang for the entire 71-77 Celica's nowadays. It's easier to say than 1st gen or 71-77. Also I could be wrong on this but the engines in em don't matter to most since you have a lot of great early 2000s 4cyl engines you can swap into them for $2-3k total driving cost.
