Ruddigore has some of Sir Arthur Sullivan's best music and W S Gilbert's best lyrics. So why is this opera so rarely performed? Prefer it to Mikado, Pirates, etc.

The business of emptying out the costume chest for the portraits didn't di ti for me -- but the singing was a top level amateur performance
