I have been watching Bucket for over 20 years and saw him live 4 times 2 in the mid 90's when working in CA. It is so frickn wild to watch this videos of him from back then. He is so insanely good it defies the limits of mortal knowledge.
dear BucketHead.....please never lose your kid inside of you , you are the greatest musican of all time with, ALREADY!...when I hear you playing.....a special one of a kind feeling comes along with me...your music is so incredible, thank you dear Mister BucketHead

4:12 he's one of those tappers who changes the pick from fingers in order to tap with the index and I think that's impressive that he sweep picked and tapped like that before going back to holding it normaly.
It breaks my heart to know that I existed in year 1997, but were two years old and had no idea of who Buckethead was or that Giant Robot would be making one of my future favourite records. Crap.
I keep this video on my desktop at all times. If i find myself being sad or alone, i'll pop this moment of buckethead that still mindblowns me to this day
he messed up here and there, but when he wasn't messing up he was absolutely on point. it still catches me off guard even though i've seen him play like this countless times
Hey man, I was at this show Thanks so much for posting this. Shawn Lane and Jonas Hellborg opened up and Buckethead blew them off the stage. Thanks Again!
it is absolutely buckethead. He is playing with Giant Robot II, a band that buckethead DID tour with in the time period. Look at his picking hand, and tapping style - it's unmistakable.
If you're talking about the two-fingers-plus-thumb grip Buckethead is using when he plays fast, he's not the only one to use this grip. Paul Gilbert (who, incidentally, briefly taught Buckethead) used the same grip for 8 years before turning the pick around to the style he uses now. PG explains it in "Paul Gilbert - Discussing Pick Mechanics" which can be found on TH-cam.
First interdused to Buckethead in 2007 when i was 8 or 7 I didnt really like his music back then what i didnt know was i didnt know i was gonna go to 2 Buckethead concerts in 2012 in 2 months
seems like buckets really rockin out here and then he kinda just stood there at concerts but hes been more energetic lately. buckcethead for president \m/
How is it even possible to doubt that this is Buckethead? Everyone changes over the years. It's not like that's a very new phenomenon. Especially considering the clip takes place in '97.
@silkstringz Cant agree anymore. All ppl talk about "oh man he's so fast noone can play this". But actualy everyone who plays long enough is able to cover pretty much everything. But to create such a masterpiece of music, it takes a talent wich cant be learned at all. That whats music is al about.
if your talking about buckethead well he just lost both his parents not to long ago which is sad as hell and has been working on these pikes he has like 80 something so far tottal insanity
GANASHER Wait, his dad died too? All I heard was Pike 13 was made for his dad, because his dad was ill or something. "The album shows an unmasked teenager Buckethead hugging his father. The cover comes at a time in which Buckethead's father has been ill and it also marks the first time the artist officially reveals his face to the public." -Wikapedia
i think i saw somewhere someone saying both his parents passed away but i couldve read it wrong or whatever i dont remember but im pretty sure someone on youtube talked about it
@NvdVen nah, this is a band called giant robot tht buckethead played in before he did stuff by himself, alot of buckethead songs were old songs tht he wrote wen he was still in giant robot, bucketheads second album was also called giant robot, so they get like mixed up sometimes
@Hsals96 dont focus on the bucket and mask, just on what comes out of that guitar. the day will come when he (saddens me) will be gone and will be recognized as the genius that he is.
1:04 Best Move :DD
4:12 a rare buckethead sweeping live moment
I literally come back to this video just to watch that sweep. Buckethead is awesome
What in the name of sweet fuck is that, Jesus! This guy's insane
This shit rules. Bucket saves my life everyday.
First time I hear him play the original solo live, love it
1:05 is my fav buckethead moment of all time.
Lol he swung it like a bell
when he tuned the string up in one version of soothsayer it was pretty badass
Does this guy know every fucking scale in the known universe?? Hot damn!! He's so insanely talented.
Yes, he does
4:12 blows my mind
2:12 whaaaaaaaattt Bucket you legend

That would blow my hands off if I tried to do it
I know this is a 5 year old comment but he's not just using his index, he's tapping a few notes with his pinky too. 😮
@@mynameisdave613he’s a master at the pinky sweep tapping

God i still remember this video. I was like 16 when my cousin introduced me to his songs. Can't believe time has passed by so fast. ❤️

He's so good that I don't actually think he really exists.
I keep this video on my desktop at all times. If i find myself being sad or alone, i'll pop this moment of buckethead that still mindblowns me to this day
Divine performance, really awesome, this guy's a pure genius, virtuoso
7:43
concerning speed and precision I think Bucket was at this a-game during that time... the wetlands concert is just insane
idk about that bud are you deff?
Haha so you're telling me his playing is sloppy and slow...?
he messed up here and there, but when he wasn't messing up he was absolutely on point. it still catches me off guard even though i've seen him play like this countless times
Shawn Lane was in the house so🙏..
@@gordiannot77 Yeah dude, that's right! Do you know if there is footage besides the short clip from 'jowls'?
No offense to present-day Pinchface, but he was a fucking baller on drums at this age.

it is absolutely buckethead. He is playing with Giant Robot II, a band that buckethead DID tour with in the time period. Look at his picking hand, and tapping style - it's unmistakable.

4:15 - 5:06 My favorite part
If there's one thing that owns more than a Buckethead solo, it's an extended Buckethead solo
Didn't think it was really buckethead at first but then i realized how old this vid was and i noticed that has to be him.
AWEEEESOOOMEE!!111
holy shit! long, long time bucketbot myself,,but that fretwork is fucking sick
how in the world does he move his fingers so fast i cant even do it for so long thus proving he actually put in so much effort into his music
4:13 is so fucking epic.
Holy crap, this is old.

looks like he is holding the pick with the thumb and middle finger in the fast picking runs...
Yep, he holds it that way so he can tap with his index
seems like buckets really rockin out here and then he kinda just stood there at concerts but hes been more energetic lately.

Watching this video make my fingers burn
3:40 is when the good part starts
Buckethead would've been 28 at this time 😲
Pretty weird
How is it even possible to doubt that this is Buckethead? Everyone changes over the years. It's not like that's a very new phenomenon. Especially considering the clip takes place in '97.

Sounds alot like Welcome to Bucketheadland to me.
@tapPOOH Its either a "Tone Zone S" or a "Air Norton S" (both from DiMarzio), but i think it sounds more like a Tone Zone.
Hope that helps
I love how he wears perfectly normal clothes with the mask and helmet.
Muy bueno con amigos
