I would love to see a team of guys working around a mothership where the vultures do a salvage mission, offload to a cargo carrier and scuttle off again
I can't wait to get a step in between that loop: a mobile refinery like the Expanse! I have thoughts about small group mining and using my own fleet: when by myself = Prospector, 2 = Prospector + Expanse, 3 = Prospector + Expanse + Zeus CL, 4 = Arrastra, 5 = still Arrastra xD
I like the design. No space wasted in the interior. Minimal living space but has everything you need. The external booster capable of VTOL is great. Feels like a working man's ship.
I only have one word for this video: Neat! I really like how after watching your videos (even once) I would be able to enter and actually navigate inside the ship you have just reviewed. I get lost in a heartbeat on most ships. 🙂
Great video as always! Mining is such a relaxing loop and I hope to see it have a little comeback (profit wise) when more systems are here, where you'll be rewarded to venturing beyond the "safer" areas/systems
Nice review of the MOLE, Farrister. Although I haven't used mine yet, I've owned one for a little while. When I get back into playing SC, I will definately put it to work. Thanks for your videos. Keep up the great work, my friend. Fly safe, and I'll see you in the verse.
I love all my Argo ships, they never really need a livery change.. 😊 The MOLE is my solo as well as my multiplayer mining ship. Only improvement would be not being exposed to atmosphere/space when mining. I might upgrade to an Arrastra but we will see how the mining gameplay pans out on that ship. Thanks Farrister for another great video, always appreciated! 🙏🏾
I've never once seen a video posted 19 seconds ago, but here I am! The Mole has always been so interesting to me, kind of as this unattainable thing that even if I did get I wouldn't have the crew to run efficiently.
The cargolift is - just like the RAFT - too small to get in more than 1 SCU container plus yourself. This means the floors onboard are barely usable for random item storage. But this ship could easily host a 2 x 2 SCU lift internally. The ladders have detaching issues/bugs, making solo mining more tedious to get around in your ship. Personally i am willing to give up a mining turret for a MPUV Cargo or RAFT docking port on the side or on top of the ship. The aesthetics of the MOLE and RAFT are one of the best in game. Making the presence on any mining outpost you arrive creates the feeling: now it is a real in use mining outpost.
@@Farrister I respect the black paint, but personally prefer the original industrial orange look. It's honestly so close between the two that I might go either way!
That is a major downside to many ships in SC, very poor ''window/views'', ships like the Corsair/Redeemer to name a couple, are like riding in a trash can. My Phoenix trumps them all in the ''visual aesthetics" dept, no ship comes close, none they're windows are either to high, or completely missing in the seating area, or just dont exist.
I think the mining ship will come into their own when base building is in and the need for different types of ore is required . there is a big need to be able to mine different ore other than Quantum. But I do prefer the scraping of salvage its easier going relaxing too , I do thing the price per SCU of RMC will drop. I am happy with that.
It is such a cool looking industrial ship. I think MModes in 3.23 will help the MOLE with flight as its so sluggish and takes forever to stop from speed. Using MModes to swap from NAV mode to SCM will drop speed very quickly, and then further to this, lowering landing gear brings you to a crawl speed quickly. These i can see being very helpful for the MOLE.
Been playing MOLE mining with 1 friend this last week or so. It's enjoyable as a multicrew for sure. I wish the side turrets had more vertical visibility though, it can be very time consuming trying to get the pilot to raise the nose of the ship regularly so you can see more than 50m in front of the MOLE. Also, I think a small cargo bay would be an ace choice to carry a ROC miner in, it would help profits for multicrew mining.
Excellent review, Farrister! I've always been interested in trying out being a crew member in a Mole mining operation. But now a days with Salvage being all the rage, that opportunity hasn't come up. Perhaps after the Salvage changes take place, folks will turn back to mining? Thank you for the insightful and soothing video!
I would love to have an Argo Ship Team that does combine gameplay loops. For example one ship is mining/salvaging, a small one transports the boxes on to a transport ship that is flying off to sell/refine stuff while the rest of the orange greycat team in their orange Argo ships continue mining/preparing stuff for the transporter when it sold its load and joins the crew again to pick up the next load. Meeting up in the sweet RAFT Interior after work or for launch break until everyone puts their orange greycat helmets on again to go out continue working. You could have little rp with it and since you would have like 3 different game loops players could change which part of the job they want to do today.
@@megaweasel706 Makes sense, it's a lot of money to invest on a pledge if you're not sure. You could grab the MOLE in game and check it out, preferably with a friend or two. I don't solo it much anymore, I'd rather just take out a Prospector. That's probably worth checking out too.
Mole is a cool ship, i'll probably buy one on Live because of price increase for 3.23. If there's not a wipe i'll have a Mole and if there is one oh well. Also in 3.23 ore bags are sold at cargo and prob other kiosks but i don't know if you can put the mole bags on the prospector in 3.23.
If you’re on the cockpit, inside the ship, and someone from outside shoots you with a rifle will it go through? Or will the glass stop it? What about if you’re behind the door and it’s closed? Does shields on and off make a difference?
Starting to worry the SRV wont make 3.23 in game shops. I sure thought it would be due. Still only one panel in New deal, oh boy here we go. Looking foward to ship flight diverging more. Mole, msr, connie, etc. Can feel similar. Most every in game ship could have a skin option.
I think there should be a mission that you can take from the menu where you need at least two fully crewed moles, maybe even three to break a ginormous boulder. Sort of like a holy Grail or unicorn rock if you will. Make for some interesting gameplay.
I am looking for a ship that I can spend real money on that will help me buy all of the other ships . In elite dangerous that was the Type 9 which helped me buy all the ships through trading , but I hear trading doesn't pay that well in Star Citizen what currently pays well in star citizen that is relatively safe?
I don’t think there is any need to cover combat performance on an industrial ship, especially to the detriment of its other more specialist role functions. Maybe there should be a section - Special Features.
I absolutely hate the interior of the Mole. Which is somewhat ironic since the Raft is my favourite ship in that regard. I've tried and tried but I just enjoy the Prospector more than the mole. Each to their own, I suppose 😊
I think the idea is that shields are super effective against the type of laser used for mining. Will be interesting to see the effect on armour though...
I love this ship but I have some grips with it. I feel like: - the lower deck should provide access to all three turrets - the elevator should come up to the habitation deck too - all three turrets had either all a canopy or none had, just be consistent

I'm a simple man. i see a new farrister video about ships, i click
I just want you to know: you're not alone
Really hope we get a full ARGO industry lineup in the future, mining, refining, salvage and cargo. we need more big beautiful Orange industrial ships.
Oh gosh yes please
a large Argo cargo vessel would be a dream
I love the idea of this ship working with a cargo ship, transporting the minerals back and forth. I love the idea of a mole and raft working together
Agree! Overall, I'd like to see more game loops which benefits from teamwork with multiple ships.

Totally does have that vibe!

Some of the big ships are a bit of a maze!
It’s a beautiful orange box! Redmonster does have the best SC mining information.
Nonsense

Good video (again), but they're not escape pods - they're suit lockers, which you somewhat correctly mentioned in the original review.
haha yeah i was confused why the pod would be made of glass

I melted my MOLE for an Arrastra. You get the MOLE as a loaner, so no loss using it. IIRC MOLE, Prospector and Arrow are the loaners.
@@vik12D Cool!! thanks for the info.. time to grab an Arrastra 😉
You are confusing the suit lockers with the escape pods. Usually its the sleep modules that double as escape pods in ships that size.
love your videos, they are clean and pristine
Thank you so much 😊and for your support!
Another great video. Thanks, man!

You might be able to hire virtual crew to help (one day).
Can't wait for a ARGO salvage ship take my money!!
Yeah! Theres a gap in the salvage ship line up just screaming for an Argo ship :)

I absolutely love this ship. As of right now it's my favorite ship, might be tied with the 600i when that gets it's rework.
Orange, or black?
@@Farrister I respect the black paint, but personally prefer the original industrial orange look. It's honestly so close between the two that I might go either way!
I wish the MOLE had a window in habitation. It's what makes the RAFT so cozy.

Solo. I tend to use at least 2 turrets, depending. Like a big breaker and a snaller bigger window on another for smaller pieces.
One of my favorite ships.
She's a great one
I wish Argo made a salvage or exploration ship. Instant buy for me.
I just watched your last mole review, kind of wanting to get the arrastra but I wasn’t sure if I wanted the mole
You do get the MOLE and Prospector as loaners for the Arrastra, which is nice. So if you like what you see and really like the Arrastra... ;)
@@JL-rj9fl yeah I was kinda waiting for it to come back around, not totally sold on the arrastra yet though

Argo could make an incredible medium size 2 man salvage ship crossing the Raft and Mole

I hope it does, I need to review that thing!
When ships become available in 3.23 to buy, will you be doing reviews of ships given the changes that come with 3.23?
This ship urgently needs a rework. 3.23 space suits have a finite amount of O2, and the open seats on the side miners will really suck.
They could fix it by having an o2 port where you can attach your suit to in either the mining operator seat or somewhere near.
May need to revisit again in future!

I want a mole sized salvaging ship by argo!!
Something between a Vulture and Reclaimer?
