Luke and Laura Look For Closure [1/2]

Luke and Laura try to find closure and come to the realization that both of them have changed.
Luke asks Laura what she wants in life now that shes back.
It breaks my heart when Laura says Luke doesn't need an angel anymore, because he DID! His life was so dark and dingy with out her. He was never this good with Tracy.

Yes,Laura, you and Luke were remarkable and still can be if someone on GH is as kind as Genie Francis was when she came back to prop up Tony Geary again and again. No two people connect like the original "super couple".
I'm sorry, Tracy doesn't even compare to Laura. Time will bring them back together. This is just another chapter in their amazing love story.
The ending of this scene is incredibly sad for us long time LnL fans :(
Bear Bear YES! it’s sad because the GH writers RUIN Luke and Laura. I don’t mind breaking up LnL but GH writers ruin the 2 characters in the process.
I cried watching this. Theses two are still amazing together. Luke is a different character when he is with Laura. Where did this man disappear to. I love them together and long for their return to love.
The calliber of this acting is off the charts compared to anything else GH has to offer these days. Genie FRancis and Tony Geary still have it in a big way. It is amazing. It is like they haven't missed a beat. Every emotion completely palpable... incredible.
It's impossible for these two to be with other people
These two need to be back together. The chemistry is so amazing still after all these years. I love Genie Francis and there can never be another love like Luke and Laura.

Aw, I wanna cry! Lol! Even after all these years watching these scenes makes me so sad that they're not together. They were amazing. Only thing that bothered me, was that Luke said it was Tracy who got him to have the surgery when it was Lulu!

I paused it to comment and then move on! GH screwed us!!! We gave them our heart & souls, we were loyal, and they repaid us by taking L&L away from us! Unreal that Monica & Alan made it to the end, but not L&L?! They should have gone off into the sunset together. Anthony Geary should be thanking his lucky damn stars for Genie Francis. If not for Gloria Monty and the fact that he met his match in Genie he would NOT be a multi-millionaire today!!!
This whole storyline was born out of a rewrite of Laura's stepdad (whom everybody loved,) Rick Webber being a cheating husband with a crazy, obsessed nurse. How crazy is it that old Scotty Baldwin would let Laura take the blame all those years for a murder that Laura didn't even commit! I think we were all tired of Laura being portrayed as this frail, weak, mentally unstable woman. Francis had to overcome the mess that those writers created and that wasn't easy. But she's doing it and I love her for it beyond the words on the page.

Luke is definitely a softer character when around Laura (and no booze in him). The demeanor changes completely. Mr. Geary said in many interviews that Laura was "Luke's humanity" - something that Gloria Monty stated that explained to Mr. Geary how he should portray the character when working with Miss Francis. You can so see this, in comparison to working with Miss Elliot. But, I guess that has to be done to make that relationship identifiably different. Boo, hiss!

I don't like Tracey. She doesn't measure up to Laura in my kind of way, He romanced Laura, and he was devoted to her, and he scammed Tracey into marrying him, and Tracey is OK with that. Just doesn't feel right.

I don’t mind Luke and Laura breaking up TEMPORARY BUT GH writers RUIN the 2 characters so bad .When Tony Geary and Genie Francis RETIRE characters Luke and Laura for GOOD, Luke and Laura should ride into soap opera history retirement TOGETHER not with Tracy, Kevin, Scotty NOBODY. They should be George and Barbara Bush Grow old together until they die
So many fans feel that way. But, apparently TG didn't. He said in an interview that wasn't the way he wanted things to play out. And he had a lot of influence on GH. So, ironically, he's at least partially responsible for the breakup.
Geary will never come back! LnL fans need to get over it.

When Luke asks what do she want out of our life, and then she says "what do you want me to say, that I want you back" it sounds kind of mean-spirited....I would have expected her to say that she wants to see her kids/grandkids grow up....She's so family-oriented that it would seem in character for her to reply like that, don't you think?
On a lighter note from the other comments,😊 Genie Frances had always had BEAUTIFUL hair, what did they do to it in this time frame? I hate to say it but it looked rough.
Could TG have caused this to go a different direction if he'd wanted it to? I haven't watched anything past '93 yet and just found these couple of clips and watched them. How could TG/Luke let this happen? Even if GF is on GH and Luke stays with Tracey but still wants and loves Laura the storyline could be about that and better than nothing.
TG actually never wanted them to get back together. He wanted them to find closure because he believed that they didn't work anymore. I will go hunt down the article where I read that.
I remember hearing that too. According to the soap bloggers Tony didn't get along well with Genie which is an amazing credit to their acting chops. Neither one of them ever let us see anything but their character's red hot chemistry sizzle every time they're on camera together.

Check the recent history: When Luke said his final farewell on GH, Genie as Laura was not a huge part of the montage or even among the characters interacting with him during his entire farewell episodes . It was a HUGE snub to Francis and the history of their super couple.
I've read so many comments and watched interviews of TG and GF to know all was not well with TG's attitude in the later years. I don't know the recent history because I just can't watch GF being treated as insignificant and unnecessary to the legacy of Luke Spencer AND to the legacy of the lifelong career of Anthony Geary. HOGWASH!
I hated this. Luke and Laura should have grown old together. They could have made their lives exciting. Luke and Laura should have been forever!!

Like it or not, Luke does love Spanky and Tracy loves her husband. I'm a die hard L&L fan but love is funny and it's only for forever until it isn't.
