Your only given so much time and it all has to fit, but if you take away some of the key details then the main plot doesn’t make sense. But if you tweak some of the minor details then the major theme and message of the works still comes through. These ones made sense, at least to me. College is a great way to have the three in the love triangle in one place. Having the other part of the love triangle be Jean-luc gives the writers a way to develop jeremys music career in a way that makes sense and we wouldn’t question how he got to that point. And they wouldn’t have to take more time explaining how he did because it was happening in the background of the story with Jean luc the entire time. That way the love triangle is there, his mentor having a big role in his life was there, the fact that Melissa and jeremy struggled with the love triangle and trying to keep everyone from getting hurt, we still get to see his music career start and grow, and it all happens in generally one area so the movie didn’t have to take time away from focusing on Melissa’s story to explain where the characters were and why. I think using the beach location for the wedding was a nice touch touch, it was where they depicted the characters in the movie having been on a date before, she also mentions in the movie that the beach is one of her favorite places. And they probably didn’t have them sing at the wedding so they could focus on putting more of Jeremys songs in the time slot so that they had covered a lot of the songs he wrote through that journey. It would be really cool if they had the time to do just a full true scale 100% true version of the movie, but this was a box office movie and they are picky. I’m sure they shot a lot more scenes then just the ones we get to see but had to make creative decisions to make the story cohesive. Thankfully the movie is amazing, and Melissas message, despite not her entire story being told in 100% accuracy, is still so visible throughout the entire film. She wanted her story to bring people closer to god, and to help them. Which is probably why all the real life versions of these characters agreed to the detail changes.
@@ianybooa certain lender had two debtors, one owed five hundred and the other fifty. They had no money to pay, so he forgave them both. Which of them do you think that loved more the lender after that?
In one interview I watched about the movie Jeremy said the other guy who loved Melissa was their Bible study teacher. That is where they met at Bible Study. And he said they couldn’t afford another actor to play the Bible Study teacher so they had his 🎶 musical mentor be the other guy in love with Melissa. I want to get the book. Actually there are 3 books. I want all three.
What this video says. They changed things a little. I loved the beach wedding. 💕 I liked the beach scenes. I wonder if the other beach scenes were true. I need to buy the book. I could understand them getting married in church.
Consolidating secondary characters isn't uncommon when adapting stories to film, be they true or based on a novel. I think it's not that they couldn't afford another actor and more that it just made for a less cluttered narrative.
I’ve always respected Adie now for understanding Melissa /wasis the love of his life. Though he is in love with Adie now and loves her completely but no one can exactly replace Melissa. Also, she isn’t afraid to share Melissas sorry. If I recall I think the movie kept it true Melissa inspired her. The only difference from what I read since I never read the book, Jeremy and Adie didn’t meet after one of his concerts but they toured together because they were opening acts for a band. Adie is true and loyal person for never resenting Melissa or allows that part of Jeremys life be the wedge. Since I believe without Melissa they wouldn’t of met. Do I think Adie every now and then is jealous of Melissa? Of course since it’s someone he was in love with and was taken away from him. A good amount of women probably wouldn’t accept or want to be with a man who lost someone and obviously viewed them as the love of his life and not his current wife tho he is in love with her now. If that makes any sense what so ever.

They are just beautiful
He was remarried just 2 years after her passing. A man can't be alone!
Read his book. There is so much more to the story. Don’t judge.
Melissa told him to find another wife after she’s gone
She was beautiful

Wonder why they left out the fact that the couple where married in the church?
I'm not trusting any more of the movies.
Did not know he was his first wife. Thought it was his wife now.
Okay, I don't want to spoil it up, but the fact is that Melissa died a long time ago, and Jeremy remade his life with Adie, they have three kids now.

Whooo cares!! Why don’t you heavily critique all movies based on real events. All of them have differences from the actual story.
