So good to see someone who enjoys cleaning and looking after their bikes .i own a 04 gsxr that i keep as tip top as possible, and i invariably get the "i bet you don't go out on that very often "comments even though i do 5k miles on average .love the channel genuinely seem a proper nice bloke , keep up the great content .
Thanks TMF, I went and spent a shed load of money on all kinds of cleaning products having watched your videos. It's a huge help seeing what you use and recommend and I now own one of them dryers. The wife cracked up when she saw it and now can't resist telling people I bought a dryer for my bike. At least you understand.
I bought one sometime ago after first seeing you use one - absolutely brilliant. Just for info of your viewers I bought a Bruhl blower - very powerful and unlike yours heat is either on or off, not variable, but it gets quite hot. It was £89 then and is top quality. I thoroughly recommend this make.
You could have done those public information films we used to watch years ago. Looking forward to your fitness video featuring the dumbbells on the worktop 😊
I bought one of these after I watched your video on cleaning. I can honestly say it’s a life saver. You don’t realise how much water your bike hides in the nooks and crannies. Great essential bit of kit for bike maintenance
Thank you for another informative video. I went the pet dryer route for my Tiger 800 and it still amazes me how much water blows out from the radiator!,I can say it works a treat when set to hot, never had a specific bike dryer but the pet dryer has been used for 12 months with no problems. Think it was £55 from flea bay, hope that help someone who is worried about a pet V bike dryer.
Thanks for the detailed, honest review. All we have come to expect from the MF. Worth mentioning to you viewers/subscribers up here in Scotland, some councils have purchased rock salt that is 3 times more corrosive that some others!!!! Seems the drive to save money has no bounds!!! Thanks for posting. Kindest regards. Joe.
Moved back home to Aberdeen a couple of years back. The wind, rain and snow I can cope with but once the salt comes out, the car is used. Horrible stuff!
I live in the Scottish highlands as well, winter salting seems to go on forever even presure washing my truck regularly seems a waste of time I know why now cheers. 🤙
Hi TMF. Been subscribed for a while now and appreciate all the hard work you do in giving us these vids. Recognise 99% of the roads you film on as I'm only in Stoke Mandeville and grew up in Hughenden Valley / Bryants Bottom. I too am a big Triumph fan and suffer with the same OCD cleaning illness! Saw an earlier video you did where you used a dryer and I had to have one. You advised it was from eBay but they were out of stock for ages. Then saw one being used at a Harley dealer being dragged around on its side all battered. They said it was brilliant, had had it for a few years and used several times a day. So bought one. Master Blaster, made in USA but there is an importer here. Expensive at about £220 but well built. I made a trolley for it as they all tip over easily. Far better than my airline and less likely to cause damage from fine jet air. My 70 year old biker friend and neighbour scoffed at it, borrowed it, then bought one! P.S. I know you're not a cruiser fan, and I'm not really into the chrome, bags and tassels thing either but I've a new Thunderbird Storm and wondered if you'd thought about reviewing one of those? Throw a leg over mine if you do. Who needs Sky TV when you've got TMF, Captain Rambunctious and others! Sorry for the long comment!
I dont own a bike but love (read obsessed by) the channel. I own a detailing company in scotland and highly recommend the dryer for the bikes they are a god send, Polished Bliss also sell some dryers Black Baron hand held is a good machine, Ebay sell these dryers but beware of buying outside of the UK, i also use an RCD with it... just incase. when your vehicle is waxed or sealed it makes drying so much easier, have a look at Tac systems UK for paint protection coatings.
Thanks for this. Was considering one of these a while back, as you rightly point out, drying any bike is a pain in the arse so anything that makes the process easier is got to be a good thing. On another topic. Puncture repair! I'm new to biking and never had to change a tire or repair a puncture. Would be great if you could put a video together about what a novice needs to do understand. Just an idea. Keep up the good work.
I just don't know how you find time to keep all your bikes so mint, your garage so tidy, do all the reviews you do and go to work, be a father, husband etc. Have you got a team of minions working with you behind the scenes? 😁 nice work again, no matter how you do it! 👍
....if only I did have a team of minions! ....in fact just one would be nice to have behind the camera and make sure I got things in focus!! :0) Thanks for the kind words - TMF
Great product as you say, although probably best not to use the 2800w version on your pet! The other good thing for corrosion free bikes is a de-humidifier which I use in winter to keep the humidity to
Great idea Steve, I have a dehumidifier that lives in the garage but never thought of using it there - could be ideal for those days when it's warmer out than in and condensation settles on the bikes.....good tip!
Just purchased a pet dryer, rated at 2.8 k Watts with variable heat output. It comes complete with various nozzle attachments. Looking forward to cleaning my GS1200 and blasting away all the moisture. Will also try this out when I wash my car, especially around the rear hatch area where water always seems to pool up and on the alloy wheels.
Great advice. I picked up a unit at Costco (do you have Costco's in the U.K?) for about $25 dollars. It does not have the heat option but works great for the price. I got the unit after watching your original bike cleaning video and this method has cut cleaning time in half. Another great product is S100 spray on bike cleaner that I highly recommend. Cheers!
We do have Costco over here, but, they don't carry the range of gear that the US stores do. No sign of a dryer online and haven't seen any bike kit in the store. They have a few bits n pieces for cars, such as oil, car mats and wipers, that's about it.
Thanks TMF, think I'll be visiting Amazon and Ebay later today for one of these time savers. Have you had a request for a winter tyres review, I'd be interested in your thoughts and findings. Cheers.
Hi TMF - thank you for another interesting, honest gear review. Have been thinking about getting one of these for a while. It will be really useful for the Bonneville - it has no radiator but loads of nooks and crannies round the engine cooling fins and the oil cooler.
I actually used a leaf blower to dry my Corvette. The less rubbing on the car, the lesser chance of inducing paint scratches/swirls. You have an awesome garage btw. Cheers.
I use a Bosch leaf blower which I find does a good job. I have a fair bit chrome on my bikes and using a blower to dry them off leaves looking A1 also good for shifting little tiny stones that gather in nooks and crannies.
Great video TMF. Mate, your GS looks in showroom condition given the mileage and time you have had it. Well done! On my GS found the wheel rims hard to get clean and actually tarnished on mine over time (have wire wheel rims) . Also grit within cylinder head air vents hard to get at as well. Tooth brush might be the go there.
Thanks again dude saw it in one of your video's an got my self one... Mine is branded as a dog one but the same I think..best 80 iv spent one eBay this year
Hmmm, that is a good Christmas/birthday wishlist item, thanks TMF. Currently I use a towel on the bike and on the car to dry and prevent streaks, but it doesn't properly dry the hard to reach water retaining spots. My normal rule of thumb is to wash first, then towel dry, then ride to blow out any remaining water which would lead to corrosion. I used to have a compressor which was great for that task, but it was rather noisy when pressurising the cylinder beforehand (so not as practical as a dryer and no heating option either). Could borrow the wife's hair dryer and face the wrath if caught ;-), but it doesn't have enough power to do the job properly. In places where there are a lot of minerals in the water system, failure to properly dry means ugly spots on the paint finish.
Ive recently bought one of these and used it today for the first time, ( I opted for the Deluxe model that will also do furry animals ;-). which i got for £39.95 ) These are the way to go for sure, if youve got a retro or an adventure bike with nooks and crannies they work a treat. Nice one TMF.
Chris_Audittr2108 ive been looking at the bruhl2800 what is the heat like or does it have any heat settings as i cant seem to find much reviews in this model thanks
kingbullykutta - The heat comes from the heat that comes off the electric motor. It doesn’t have a specific heating element in the same way a hairdryer does for example. So the air it blows out gets a little warm rather than hot in any way but being a twin fan model, it blows out something like 170 mph if memory serves. I can dry a car in 25 mins so a bike is no bother at all. The warmer air helps things along but the power is what does the job. It’s nice though on a cold day as the the hose and nozzle get warm and keep your hands toastie!
I didn't want to spend any more money so i started use the leaf blower I use in the garden - I find that if I leave it running for 5 minutes the air gets warm and does the job nicely
Hi mate... Just watching this in 2022 as I'm looking at getting a device myself. Just thought I'd mention that the Amazon link to the pet dryer now links to a knitted dog jacket. :)
60 C, sounds like winter here in Houston! Sorry, apologies had to get that in. I’ve been using a leaf blower for far too long now, think it’s about time to purchase one of these, you’ve convinced me. Cheers.
edwards0matic , sorry friend wasn't me, but we Californians tend to think we're all motocrossers and sometimes we happen to always demolish our bikes 😉
My first step after hosing clean, is a brisk run down the nearby highway. Then, a microcloth. Might just try the back end of the shop vac! (After the short ride-).
I’m in Vietnam at the moment TMF, after every clean they get the airline and blow dry it! That’s a jet wash, soap, sponge, brush, rinse, wipe down and blow dry, 20 minutes all for 15-20k dong, 53-69p ish at current exchange rates. No heated air, but the ambient is pretty good. A country of bikers I guess they know what they’re doing. Cheers.
I bought two of these to compare them side by side. A cheap £55 "GRANDMA SHARK 2800W" which is the same size as in your video. Then a larger £135 "SHELANDY/GRAVITIS Professional 4.2HP" which is about 50% longer than the above. Both worked well and the latter was about 30 > 50% more powerful at 'blowing' but the heat output wasn't as good as the former (probably as they use the same heating element). TLDR; buy the cheaper units if you want value for money.
Great video. However, whats the difference between a standard bike dryer and a pet dryer? The bike dryers do not advertise their heat range but the dog dryers do. Are the hoses longer on the bike dryers and go hotter?
Life is just too short to be polishing bikes - embrace the inner Rat and just ride it ! :)Putting your fetish with all things cleaning to one side I'm loving your work Sir .
Actually the one I linked to is £60 cheaper! I did have a report below though that actually the pet dryer wasn't quite as robust as the dedicated bike dryer, all I can say is they look similar to me! Caveat Emptor I guess! All the best - TMF
Quick questions (although I think I know the answers): Do you use the dryer after riding in the wet? Do you do any type of cleaning after a ride in the wet? Do you use that dryer on your cars?
3 questions in fact! (1) Nope (2) Yes if I have time I at least give the bike a quick soapy wash and rinse (3) Very occasionally...I'm not quite so anal about drying my cars....
Hi would you mind doing a beginners guid to touring planning my first one next year Wales north to south it would be great to have some tips and the gear you bring I’m going to b&b it no camping for me lol keep up the great videos Regards Clive
I have covered this somewhat in the past Clive (check out the first episode of this years "tour of the North" series) but maybe I should do a dedicated video - thanks for the suggestion....TMF
I am not convinced about pet dryers. I tried using one on my collection of hamsters (consenting) and most of them blew away and I have never seen them since. The remaining ones were traumatised.
Good devices but tend to be too expensive for my liking. As you mentioned, I got a dog drier instead. I can't tell any difference between the two (probably because they're the same thing) except for a printed paw shape and half the price tag! I wouldn't want to point it at a dog though. Far too powerful.
I think it is really good to keep a pair of ear defenders in your garage or shed, like these ones: www.screwfix.com/p/se1348-comfort-ear-defenders-29-8db-snr/41054 Yes, of course ear plugs are a good idea, but often you will have oily fingers and you will think to yourself "it'll be okay for a few mins" and go ahead and use the noisy thing. With the ear defenders they are so easy to put on that I think you are more likely to use them for those short noisy jobs.
I bought a pet dryer for about £70 which worked well for a bit but the motor burnt out after a few times using it. Turned out to be a false economy. I'll be investing in a better quality pukka bike dryer next time.
So good to see someone who enjoys cleaning and looking after their bikes .i own a 04 gsxr that i keep as tip top as possible, and i invariably get the "i bet you don't go out on that very often "comments even though i do 5k miles on average .love the channel genuinely seem a proper nice bloke , keep up the great content .

i guess it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good place to watch new movies online ?
@Jesse Steven Flixportal :D
@Samuel Beau Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :) I appreciate it !!
@Jesse Steven No problem =)
I bought one of these after I watched your video on cleaning. I can honestly say it’s a life saver. You don’t realise how much water your bike hides in the nooks and crannies. Great essential bit of kit for bike maintenance
Clewesy same here, I really love it and use it every time I clean my bike.
Glad you've found it of use....
I steal/use a lot of your tips and tricks :)
Thank you for another informative video. Thanks Wayne - the pet dryer in my link below looks pretty much the same as my bike dryer I must say.....

Your choice of bikes are exactly what id have in my dream garage :)
Clearly you are a man of great taste Stuart! ...lucky for me it's my dream garage too... :0)

I use the M4, 10 min at around 150 usually does it🏍💨
Fair enough!

I've been using the Sidekick from Airforce Blaster for a couple of years, which is smaller, comes in under £100 and is perfect for bikes.
A clean bike is a clean mind!!! Hold on this may not apply to everyone, good work Mr flyer
Certainly works for me! ;0)

Thanks for the info I just purchased a ‘pet dryer’ from eBay for just £44 and it’s doing a great job on my 4 week old tracer 900
Nice one!
I actually used a leaf blower to dry my Corvette. The less rubbing on the car, the lesser chance of inducing paint scratches/swirls. You have an awesome garage btw. Cheers.
Yes I agree (should have mentioned that) - the less contact you have with the paintwork the better.....and thanks!

These would look tempting if I cleaned my bikes more regularly! :D Seriously though, does look like a nifty idea!
Just bought one of the back of your latest top five for Christmas 👍👍
Good man! I think you'll find it invaluable!
great vid thanks, never even heard of a pet dryer..... ordered one for the my bike....
Good man!
I use my stihl leaf blower, does hell of a job.
I have the Bruhl MD2800 which is a twin fan jobby so very powerful. The water just flies off!
Chris_Audittr2108 ive been looking at the bruhl2800 what is the heat like or does it have any heat settings as i cant seem to find much reviews in this model thanks

Good Evening thank you for the video and Take care.
Hi mate... Just watching this in 2022 as I'm looking at getting a device myself. Just thought I'd mention that the Amazon link to the pet dryer now links to a knitted dog jacket. :)
Hilarious!!! Thanks for pointing it out….
You certainly are a Hard Core cleaner, but top results all your bikes always look new. ☺ P. S. Hanging out for that Super Tenere review. 😮
Hang in there Scott - the review is in the can, due for upload in December (sorry for the wait).....
I didn't know these things existed. Good tip.
Essential bit of kit!!!
Screw fix do a vacuum cleaner that blows as well ,I bought one works well and blows hot . think it was about £40
60 C, sounds like winter here in Houston! Sorry, apologies had to get that in. I’ve been using a leaf blower for far too long now, think it’s about time to purchase one of these, you’ve convinced me. Cheers.
I just use my garden blower. Works a treat.
+Nigel Fisher Fair enough....
Got to get myself one of those!
Don’t forget to follow my link!
Just want to comment how your facial expression on this video's cover photo is priceless 👍
Love your channel from California, keep up the good work!
Thank you sir - I thought you might like it!! :0)
Just bought a Honda xl500s and the previous owner was from California. It wasn't you was it? It's fucked.
edwards0matic , sorry friend wasn't me, but we Californians tend to think we're all motocrossers and sometimes we happen to always demolish our bikes 😉
Thanks, Chief!
P. S. I believe one has magically arrived, courtesy of the missus.
Andy needs a machine to blow hot air. I don't believe it. :-) Thought the video was educational and why not a fresh comment.
Actually gonna get one , good review. On a side note did anyone else think of Harry Hill while watching
this. No offence flyer keep up the great work.
..you're not the first to mention that....
My first step after hosing clean, is a brisk run down the nearby highway. Then, a microcloth. Might just try the back end of the shop vac! (After the short ride-).
Great review, it's a shame amazon UK does not deliver to the states, I will have to try Marci d a us dealer,
Are they not available on Amazon dot com?
I will have to look
I use a leaf blower - also great for blowing leaves out of the garage (god knows how they get in there).
Cheers.
Wow, what a winner!
I don't honestly know - you wouldn't want to point this at your dog unless you wanted to cook it (so I suspect you're right on the heat thing).....
Hi TMF would you still recommend this dryer or have you found something else better as I am after one thanks 👍
No I'm still using this one - still going strong after hundreds of uses, great bit of kit....
TheMissendenFlyer thanks for get back to me 👍 that’s me going to order one thanks again 👍
My wife is always asking me what I want for Christmas ,this year I will have an answer.
Don't forget to pass her my Amazon link ;0)
Life is just too short to be polishing bikes - embrace the inner Rat and just ride it ! :)Putting your fetish with all things cleaning to one side I'm loving your work Sir .
Thank you sir!
Just wondering... Why not just use an air compressor instead? One could use that for displacing water off the bike and then for applying acf50 maybe?
This blows out hot air so is better for drying...I have a compressor as well for the ACF50 by the way :0)
I have garage envy :)
:0)
Is the same as the one’s on EBay £51 ? They look identical !
Do you think I could use a hair dryer that blows out warm air
Yes - but it would take longer….
@@TheMissendenFlyer Thank you for your reply and clearing it up 😊
There is one that has the same power as yours and variable heater currently on sale for £50
Just purchased one from your recommendation. You should get commission :) Cheers bud
Hope you used my link! ;0)
@@TheMissendenFlyer I did indeed! But they cancelled my order as the seller doesn't ship to channel islands :( gone for the bruhl md2800 instead!
Hi TMF, totally unrelated to this clip, but would you tell me where you get your ACF 50 please? Cheers.
Dog dryer same thing £30 cheaper thanks for the vid mate.
Actually the one I linked to is £60 cheaper! I did have a report below though that actually the pet dryer wasn't quite as robust as the dedicated bike dryer, all I can say is they look similar to me! Caveat Emptor I guess! All the best - TMF
Electric leaf blower....finish with damp chamois...
The best way to dry pets is to hold them near the open exhaust of a big v-twin and give it a few revs :)
Good tip!
i use my wife's old hair dryer...works just fine :)
I have just got one, haven’t used it in anger yet
Great bit of kit!
How long is the lead on this
Quite long....
Hi TMF is your Turbo Blaster still working as it should be two years later.
Yep!
@@TheMissendenFlyer ok thanks
I have same as you but a pet dryer paid £75 pound really cheap.
.....don't think you'd want to put your pet anywhere near one of these bike dryers!!
You sir... just made my day... i know where to spend my hard erned cash!!! :-) Cheers!
These are fab bits of kit if you're serious about keeping your bike good as new....
Good day Sir, is that a Lycoming Stud behind you?...
It sure is - out of our old TB-10, sadly no longer with us....
Are the links in the description affiliate links?
Yup...
Have you had any problems with the dryer? Also can you get spare parts?
Nope still going strong, use it every week.....dunno about spares.
Hi would you mind doing a beginners guid to touring planning my first one next year Wales north to south it would be great to have some tips and the gear you bring I’m going to b&b it no camping for me lol keep up the great videos
Regards
Clive
I have covered this somewhat in the past Clive (check out the first episode of this years "tour of the North" series) but maybe I should do a dedicated video - thanks for the suggestion....TMF
I am hoping Father Christmas is going to bring me one of these ( I have hinted).
Maybe drop him (or her?) my amazon link just in case :0)
I am not convinced about pet dryers. I tried using one on my collection of hamsters (consenting) and most of them blew away and I have never seen them since. The remaining ones were traumatised.
Obliquepanic 😂😂🤣
No hamsters were harmed in the making of my video.....
Good devices but tend to be too expensive for my liking. As you mentioned, I got a dog drier instead. I can't tell any difference between the two (probably because they're the same thing) except for a printed paw shape and half the price tag! I wouldn't want to point it at a dog though. Far too powerful.
Yes I do wonder how much dogs actually like 'em!
I never thought of a pet dryer, looks like I'm to see our dog's groomer and play with what she uses!
Cheers pal 👍
I would recommend the Bruhl it’s a better product
Can't be better than this one - still going strong after many years hard labour!
I think it is really good to keep a pair of ear defenders in your garage or shed, like these ones:

Yes, of course ear plugs are a good idea, but often you will have oily fingers and you will think to yourself "it'll be okay for a few mins" and go ahead and use the noisy thing. With the ear defenders they are so easy to put on that I think you are more likely to use them for those short noisy jobs.
Great tip Brighton Dude - cheers!
I bought a pet dryer for about £70 which worked well for a bit but the motor burnt out after a few times using it. Turned out to be a false economy. I'll be investing in a better quality pukka bike dryer next time.
Generally speaking, you do get what you pay for - the "Turbo Blaster 1000" I have is a sold bit of kit...
My solution has always been to ride the bike after cleaning it. Jump on the brakes a couple of times. Dry as a bone.
I knew someone would say that! Fair do's - doesn't work well enough for me though!
Can't use mine at the moment as the BMW R1200RS was stolen the other night by 4 scrotes.
Bad news Michael, I feel for you, hope you either get it back in one piece or the Insurance are kind to you....
Cant remember the last time i even cleaned mine :(
Whaaaaaat!!!!
Stems from my rat bike Kawazaki Zephyr 550 days it actually looked better au nautral mind you l used to brush cobwebs from around the clocks :)
I bought the pet dryer in the drop down. It's brill, dried my bike in a flash but nearly killed my Dachshund. Sorry, Alfie!
Good man!
So why not just use a normal hair dryer ?
Not powerful enough....but better than nothing!
You can get a pet one half the price.
Likely doesn’t have the power or same heat though.
@@TheMissendenFlyer 2800 watts heat to 55 degrees
If you own an air compressor.... you're covered
..as I mentioned in the video... ;0)
I've send you a private mail so you can contact me whenever you want to do van-spotting.
Control: I don't like rain
Ride safe
I can't watch someone turn a knob whilst saying "this one goes to..." without thinking of spinal tap
...eleven!
You mean that Ducati don't do a heated air bike drier..... WTF.....
