This is stunning! And the lettering is just chef's kiss :O
And all of it"only" taking 25 hours to complete is further testament to how good you are O.O
Thank you so much for sharing and for the inspiration to tackle my fantasy maps again :D

When you started crumpling the paper I was more upset then I thought I would be. I was very invested.

That was awesome! I think it looks great. Also, as far as presentation for your video, saying that you didn't like it and were going to toss it was a great touch.

    You sir are absolutely brilliant!
Would love if you could do a full in depth tutorial of mapping, the planning phase, different elements you could add, the layout etc

I am interested in learning how to draw my own hand-drawn maps for pleasure which is what attracted me to this video. I have to say the videographic performance you presented in displaying this map construction was excellent; kudos to you there. I hope to pick up tips for making my own maps from rewatching it, but I have one question if you don't mind answering, what is the paper that you make the map on. Have you treated it to look like that? I will be looking at your other videos to pick up other tips as well.

I’m a professional artist but never tackled maps. I found these beautiful vintage fishing maps that inspired me for some pieces for my living room but wanted notable areas from my life instead of the generic ones I found at an antique store. I didn’t even know where to begin till I found this.
Thank you SO much for sharing this process!!! Here’s to hoping I can learn some of your amazing skills to recreate those vintage maps! Even style wise it won’t be nearly as stunning as your work, but I’m so unbelievably inspired.
Thank you!!! Definitely have a new follower from me.

    Which paper do you use?

How do you draw a map of a country using a reference? All I have on me is a graphic paper and a ruler. I want to draw a map of my country, but it looks so complicated I don't know where to start.

Thanks for your comment. Try doing a grid enlargement like I show in this video. You will have to either print the image of your country and draw it on the reference photo or digitally on the computer. I hope that helps.
