    Sir! This has been the best, clearest video I have found on the topic. Thank you very much. You are a great doctor, I can tell by your dear comments. I checked my sleeping son and found his scrotum to be so smooth, with both testicles inside. He is a very active 3 year old boy, always running, jumping, and climbing on me. So many times I see his scrotum while he’s active or try to check it, it looks shriveled and I have to maneuver the testes into place. When he lays down, I feel them, sometimes they are up near the base of penis. They come down.

      @@thendralnirmal They said they are retractile testes. A good indication was that his scrotum was developed on both sides which isnt the case if one or both have not descended! Going back for another check next year

    My son 3.5 years old, left side retractable testicles, and the left side testicle size is very small compared to the right.
    Mild hydrocele too on the left
    side.
    Do we need to go for surgery for a retractile testicle.
    Left side small testicle than right is this issue or normal.

    I don’t witness it a lot but I have noticed my son’s testicles in his scrotum from time to time when it is hot or if he has a fever. This would suggest my 3 year old has retractable testicles rather than undescended, correct?

    • @healthcheck1014
      @healthcheck1014  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Friend
      It is certainly unusual to have such a refractive testicle at your age. If the testicle feels healthy and functioning normally then best treatment is to do nothing, if it’s not broke don’t fix it. Surgery can come with it’s own problems. If however, it is feeling softer and smaller then the other side then you should get a surgical opinion to explore the option of orchidopexy

    Thanks for explaining. When my kid stands up, I can not feel the testicles. When he lies down, When his diaper gets changed, I can feel both testicles most of the time. I can move his right testicle into scrotum when it is not there. Cold, fear causes testicles go up. A surgeon checked him and said that right testicle wont enter scrotum. It needs to be fixed by surgery. But I can feel his testicles when he lies down as I mentioned above. What should I do?

      Normally testicle are fixed to the inside of the scrotum with tissue and in my opinion unless this tissue was very weak it is unlikely that trauma can cause them to move, however, unusual things do happen in human body so I cannot say that it is impossible

      I understand your fear, however, as long as the testes feel normal and stay in the scrotum most of the time then there is no cause for concern. Wear a nice comfortable well supporting underwear. On the other hand the testes remains in the groin most of the time then you should see a surgeon/urologist for further opinion

      This is a very rare condition called Polyorchidism. In most patients it is harmless. It can slightly increase the risk of testicular cancer later in life. Firstly you should get it confirmed by your doctor. If confirmed then when your child is a bit older he should examine himself regularly and report any changes in size and shape of the testicle or any abnormal lumps in them

      In my opinion, if the testicle is in normal position most of the time but retracts when your child is examined or anxious then it is retractile and will settle with time and patience. But if it’s in the groin most of the time then it is in a much warmer environment then in the scrotum and it needs to be brought down surgically
