I worked for toyota for 30 years .I can see a lot of heat. What i didn't see is that you checked that valve body for warping they are good for that it will not show while apart all the valves will be free but when assembled they will get stuck giving a whole lot of problems
Thanks, I got this lol All valve bodies that we touch are stoned flat and/or thrown out if they are warped, however, seeing one bad like that is extremely rare (I’m only doing transmissions for 36 years though)

Use petroleum jelly, it’s available everywhere
