    Thank you 🙏🏼 for settling the dispute, yes occasionally there’s misprints, the 120amp Smart esc that is the optional one for the JetStream should work nicely in the BJ24.

      @User3eighty4 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s not a misprint. It’s a 60 amp hobbywing 1060 based esc. They rate water cooled esc’s higher because of the better cooling allowing it to run at a higher amp rating.

      @@User3eighty4 Well misprints do happen, the owners manual for the AЯRMA Kraton 8s says that the motor is a 4985, 1250kv, but it also says it’s a 4685 just like the BJ42 although it has a kv of 1250 and the BJ42 is 1350kv, if you can touch it with your finger and not get burned, then it ain’t too hot ! Run what you brung comes to mind.

      @@scottdearmond5532 I understand. I have those trucks and that boat too I saw it. The Firma 90 amp literally says 1060 in the part number.

    • @IRONCLADRC
      @IRONCLADRC  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @FEboats could be wrong but 1060 is the part number. Not to be confused with a 1060 brushed hw esc

      @@IRONCLADRC And the motors are different part #’s between the BJ42 and the AЯRMA Kraton, so I believe 1350kv and 1250kv to be correct, they are same physical size but the armature is wound differently. 👍🏻

    It’s a hobbywing 1060 based esc. Water cooling is more efficient so they likely labled it 90 amp. I’ve seen that with a lot of plane based boat esc’s. It says 1060 right on the esc.

    Hey at least it was and is a good 90amp esc, funny I bought a CCB it was supposed to come with a 90amp esc but came with a 120amp esc that was only supposed to run 4s but I'm running 6s on it as well so yeah 😊👍🏼

  • @jimstone5339
    @jimstone5339 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It's smaller for a 90amp because it's only good for up to 4s. The other 90s I own are bigger but their 6s capable. Thanks for answering everyone's questions. Bg4l

      Smaller ESCs can handle big voltage if built properly. Size of the ESC typically tells you the amp carrying capacity. I suspect the size is smaller not because of lesser voltage but because they simply needed to fit all that equipment in a tiny space. That’s why plane ESCs run higher voltage with a smaller size because they are tight on space and don’t need amps, they need voltage.
      Its odd to me that this ESC is this small but runs 90 amps, whereas the outgoing dynamite 60 amp is about the same size
      But, if Castle Creations tech support has taught me anything, it’s that ESC amp ratings are about as truthful and honest as lipo C ratings, which is to say, not.

    Something is definitely amiss! The part number printed on your ESC is SPMXME1060. If you search that number on Horizon's website it says "Firma 60A Smart Brushless Marine ESC". But the description says "This waterproof, 90A brushless marine ESC powers your boat through almost any condition imaginable..." Plus, one of the pictures on the product page clearly shows '60 A rated for 2-3 cells'. Somebody is asleep at the switch down in Champaign.

      Unfortunately, no, you'll need to solder 5.5 bullets onto the motor

    Horizon made a typo? Surprise surprise. I’ve personally emailed them about typos in other things and have seen them update their stuff.
    What’s weird is the 60 amp ESC has a label on it that says 60 amp but the part number is the same
    What’s even weirder is the fact that horizon didn’t use the 100 amp ESC that’s in the Shreddy. They already had that ESC ready to go but noooo they had to go and make yet another ESC option. There are so many now, this can’t possibly be sustainable for them

    We appreciate you, sir.👍 I just picked up a Jet Jam for a rescue boat. Used my points built up at the hobby shop and scored it for $86! Got tired of waiting for parts, but I'll still finish the DIY rig for bigger boats later on.. BG4L 🚤💨
