I've airbrushed a yellow model before and did it differently. Primer first as usual. I then did a layer of pink followed by the yellow. Only actually needed one layer of each colour and the yellow came out great. Pink is a great base for yellows.
Thanks for this video. I am building this now and needed a second opinion on where that box went in the cockpit. Also, you have spared me getting the pilot in the wrong place for the canopy to fit, cheers!
Built this one when it was issued in a poly bag. Agree ref. white primer. I've made that mistake; white primer for light finish colours, grey for dark finish colours.
Very nice result. You did well to paint the interior of the canopy. When I did my AOP version the canopy moulding detail wasn't great. I guess it's improved a bit. I ended up using very fine black line decals to represent the interior framework. Thanks for sharing this..
Cheers Tom. I should have compared the canopies. Apparently they did update it for the new one and it fits fine. Its a nice idea, take a 60 year old kit, tweak the bad bits out and sell it cheap.
I still remember building the original release and how much trouble the canopy was in it's first incarnation. Using tube dlue didn't help. Glad Airfix re-designed the canopy. Your build looks excellent when finished. Look forward to doing one myself again.

Lovely little build. Made one back in the seventies - I thought it was a cracker then!
Finally a video of this plane

I really enjoyed it, nice and simple. Cheers William
Very cute Kit but sadly your camera didn't focus onto the objects shown.
Well tidy.
Was going to buy this, but as its not molded in yellow, I'll give it a miss !!
Was still fun, but in yellow could have been a quick and easy job.
I built this about 100 years ago
Lindo avião, ficou perfeito! Eu também gostaria de montar um desse. 🌟👍
Obrigado Alex
If you looked you mounted the Box SIDEWAYS......
oops
Airfix did this kit wrong. Its orange. Its at RAF cosford. Definitely not yellow

Great little kit. Built the army version years ago. 👍
