Haven't played Magic since I joined the Aussie army 22 years ago. It has helped me contact with my second son, Cheers mate for getting me hooked.
A year later, I still come back to watch this.

Pulled all three titans from my Fat Pack back then. I was so, sooooo excited!
In the set, Hellion Eruption could change all your little 0/1 eldrazi spawns into 4/4s. So if you have an Eldrazi Spawn engine going, get some trample and this card and you could swing in hard
As a young MTG player (3years into the game now) it's interesting to see these older sets and how far MTG has come

when i first started i got into 4th ed, ice age, homelands chronicles.
but then i quit for a while after invasion.
then i came back right around the launch of M11 , ROE, and scars.
Modern card design >>>> new card design, but nothing beats the old aesthetics and artworks
eldrazi vs b/w control.... infect, and all the titans, jace the mind sculptor what a time for magic, glad to have played in this era
this was one of the sets i played thru and started in and remember my store giving me a box for hs graduation and i pulled SPICE it was such a great feeling brings back memories. happy to be a patron
the camera work at the beginning is both dramatic and eye-opening.

In MaRo article recently he said that Rise of Eldrazi set pushed people away. Most did not liked the limited environment. Part of the reason is the they had slowed down the pace of limited, added walls and other things so you could have time to cast the 7+ CMC eldrazis. So, you had to build your limited decks with higher mana curves. The dudes that did not realised that and kept their limited deck construction habits were just straight loosing and not having fun. I remember my pre-release, I played against 3 peoples and for each game we were not able to finish a 1 of 3. It was just board stall and top decking. I boughtt a box and pulled an Emrakul and no other mythic eldrazi. I remember a guy in is box he opened Emra, Kozi, Ula and lot of other good stuff. Anyway, this set like New Phyrexia had so much good cards that became staples afterwards.

Cool box opening ..love the old cards .. hate no big Eldrazi showed up .. I know the EV was no where near the $800 plus these boxes go for but hey still a great box .

I remember throwing down for a whole box of these years back and I swear it was nearly the same type of box, no titan ekdrazi, Hellcarver, Linvala, ,and Vengevine weren’t there but I got Sarkhan the Mad, Transcendant Master, and Cast Through Time. Do have to say the two copies of Training Grounds I got are worth something now.

Still have my old Spawnsire of Ulamog/Training Grounds deck. As long as you had 2 Training Grounds in play & Spawnsire of Ulamog, made making all the extra colorless mana add up after sacrificing a Eldrazi Spawn to get more from Spawnsire fo Ulamog then repeat as much as you want. Last MTG set I bought before I came down with a mysterious illness. At my FNM store I came in 2nd out of 50+ during the Eldrazi tournament. Back then it seemed the Fat pack boxes gave better cards.

Eldrazi are still a blast in edh. If you got a bunch of Mana dorks/card draw spells/protection artifacts...do yourself a favor and build mono-green eldrazi. Favorite creature type in the game

Since we are going back to Zendikar later this year, Ashiok has gone looking for the Phyrexians, and several members for the gate watch are joining Karn the go hunt the Phyrexians, what if we in the future we get Phyrexian-Eldrazi, or Eldrazi-Phyrexian mutated monsters? I had started playing way back inn original Mirroden, then took a break, and came back again at eldrazi. That was really when I started collecting cards seriously, man that set was a lot of fun.

10:13 Shoutout to green Gifts Ungiven. The card is pretty bad but I love how they even mimicked the artwork of gifts.
I actually really like the card. Especially in a deck with ways to get the lands back. Crucible, wrenn and six, splendid reclamation. Fun card in my opinion.
I don't mean it's bad as in unplayable, but it is a card that you either build around or fits into a deck that wants to bin lands. It's not as universally good as other land tutors.

gigantomancer is amazing with Eldrazi spawn. Sacrifice half of them to make the other half 7/7's and then use something that gives them trample and your golden.
I remember playing at a local mall tournament when I was into Magic as a kid. I think it was a booster draft for the then new RotE. I lost all my games but I got a prerelease promo Emrakul from that and we got to keep the cards.
