The only time I've seen a credit union beat a 0% interest rate was when they were running a promotion that offered free GAP insurance and a significantly discounted extended warranty for existing customers. Even at 0% interest, the CU was surprisingly the better option for anyone buying a vehicle under about $37k.

In this scenario, there is no possible lower interest rate. He would be getting payed less if he lowered the price than if he just let the customer finance with a bank

I went into the Subaru dealership literally 2 weeks ago and got the out the door price from 33k and some change to 28k out the door with taxes and fees included 🤣 had to walk away tho just in case I find better deal 💪
