Hi Ben and Dawn, I've waited a whole year to see that thug ivy gone, so satisfying 😅 so much respect for what Dawn is doing, it looks really good, and that's a cracking log store Ben, sorry you've had a bump on the head so now take it easy and don't feel guilty about not doing much😂❤
Haha yes thug is definitely a very good word for the Ivy! It’s been one of the most satisfying parts of doing this wall…finally giving it its marching orders! Aww I know poor Ben, it was quite worrying when all the blood started to appear! He was very lucky though, that it wasn’t worse than it was. Hard hats from now on!
It’s funny how some folks think it’s so beautiful to have vines climbing their walls. I just think of them as rodent highways! Good for you, for gently removing them and reminding everyone of the damage they can cause to a structure!
Ben, you get to work at your own pace, and mutter and putter about, as I say. YOu have done so much, just piling that woodpile is a huge job. Most of us always think we should be doing more, better, and differently. Dawn, what meticulous work on the stones, great to know that when its done, you don't have to ever do it again! I think people watch, I know I do, because you both are wonderful people with warm personalities and are doing what your hearts desire wants to be doing. I think the Victorian fireplace would make you both happier to sit around with tea and cookies, biscuits I mean! Thanks for including us in your journey.
Good evening Sharon, sorry for the late reply, we are trying to catch up with all comments, we will get there I am sure. I love a mutter, I take after my Dad for muttering.... we used to say he was chuntering (no idea why) The wood shed is doing a good job of keeping it all dry so I am pleased with it. No final roof on it yet though. The work Dawn is doing is amazing, so many repairs get done as she is going upwards, cavities filled, missing stones are replaced and then she finally gets to point the front of the stones hiding her time and effort put in. Closer to the top this week and more ivy gone. The fire for the living room is here, currently a work in progress but we are very excited. cookies, biscuits, they all taste great dipped in a cup of tea. Hopefully soon in front of the stove :-) Thank you Sharon for being our longest channel member, for always watching and for always commenting :-) See you Sunday :-)
WOW....what a bonus to see you working on the gable end again Dawn, it absolutely fascinates me to watch your progress. Not that I am taking anything away from all the hard work you put in Ben, far from it. Far from faffing about have both put in such an extraordinary amount of work during the time you have lived at The Corner House to get it to where you are today. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Awww you guys! thank you so much @lindagage7315 ❤️❤️ What a great idea while the ads are playing to read the comments! Sharon you are a love too! Thank you for doing that, it means a lot to us that you think about us like that 🫶❤️
Definitely better to go careful with the Ivy, if only we had thought about that before the roof fell in!🫣🤣 Never mind, it’s all a learning curve isn’t it and it’s given me/us so much confidence in rebuilding with stones and lime.
Enjoyable video as always, fun to watch other people work. Getting your wood burning equipment sorted is a good priority for Ben to keep the damp out of the house this winter. Amazing progress has been made!!! Dawn will be at the peak of the wall very soon.
You’re making excellent progress. Don’t underestimate the value of all the small tasks Ben. While it may seem that you didn’t accomplish much, it’s a combination of those small tasks that enable the big ones.
We have plenty of heaps around the place and it’s nice to know that wildlife will put them to good use. We do have a wildlife cam and have captured badgers and pine martens on it so far. We haven’t viewed the footage in a while so must set it up properly again now the seasons are changing,
Every day the outside of the gable is a little closer to being finished and 100% safe and ivy free. Very true with the little things and even those take time. I do some behind the scenes stuff too :-) It goes without saying Evelyn, but thank you.
Thank you very much indeed Brian. Dawn really does enjoy the lime work and repairs, I think she is secretly looking forward to getting the collapsed wall inside rebuilt. It is next on the list as we don't think that section will last the winter if it isn't repaired. Thanks for watching and commenting Brian.
My favorite bit was the ginger cat giving his approval to the neatly packed woodstore! Well done to you both for all you do with smiles for each other throughout❤nice to see how you work so well together and give each other space to do your jobs. 👏👏👏🐾👌👌🐈⬛🌿🍁
It’s not a job done well until the cats have passed it! Ooh I love the image of them sat with little clipboards and pens! Ooh ooh and a tiny little hard hat each too….high vis anyone? 🐾
Hi Luminya Yes, it seemed the best way to do it. Repair and repoint and work upwards, only removing ivy once the part below it is repaired and strong again. One day all of them will be fully restored.... note the "one day" though lol.
The wall is looking stunning, Dawn you have over come a daunting task you were afraid to touch and now look at you, wonder woman in repairing stone walls. Sorry I didn't reply to your last message, I was not feeling too good. Love and blessings to you both as always from Scotland xx
Hi Babs, how are you? It has turned cold here :-( I am not a fan. You are right, Dawn took a little while to gain her confidence but now there is no stopping her. So much to be done on that wall alone and Dawn has done so much to it it is incredible. I have to find other bits to do as that building is Dawn personal mission. We hope you are feeling much brighter now Babs and we will see you Sunday. Thank you as ever for watching, commenting and being a valued channel member :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject I'm so much better now thank you. With all health issues it can be difficult at times but hayho life's a beach lol and you just get on with it. It's been turning a bit cold here in Scotland too lol. Dawn reminds me of me when I was fit enough, if something needed doing you just did it. Much love to you both from a happy Scotland xx
Fantastic stone work Dawn, your neighbours will be so happy & proud of your detailing of the stone. Ben your work ethic is good to, you seem a happy contented couple, been watching you both since your tent days, kitty seems happy to. Well done.
Aww wow the tent days…..seems like an age ago now! The neighbours have been so complimentary about the wall and I’m so looking forward to getting the scaffold down and being able to see it all done!
The gable end is looking so good. I love watching Dawn work with the pointing. It is amazing. You're taking a wall that looked like it was falling down and are making a sturdy wall.😊
Once the top stone are removed and that section rebuilt, I think Dawn will be a lot happier. The closer to the top she goes, the more you can see just how little original lime is there. There is so much repair work to do where there are large cavities at the back of the stones. These all get filled with lime and stones before she then gets to cover it all up wit the pointing. It is a shame really as all the repair work gets hidden. Thanks Jan for watching and commenting :-)
In this case it was left too long, probably about 30 years and it ripped into any crevice it could find. I suppose the rodents would only use it if there was something at the top for them.... at the moment it was just a drop off the other side haha. Bit by bit it is coming off and each row repaired and restored. The top stone will be removed soon the the final bits of ivy can be taken off safely before the stone being repositioned and put in place there they should be. The ivy on this building and all of the others now gets picked often as new shoots appear, when we can remove big sections we do. Thanks for watching and commenting Lucy :-)
I watch several video channels on restoring old homesteads like this. But your channel is far and away my favorite. Love watching Dawn doing the gable end. It is the fact that you are doing it right that does take time. Not just slapping it up any which way, just to have to do it again in a few years. Ben, your doing a good job on the woodstore! Looks great. And the clearing you're doing on the building, even though another owns that little area. Leaving it would cause your own property to look bad. So kudos to both of you.
Thank you very very much William, this is such a nice thing to say and know. It is such a long process for her but we know that the wall is strong again using traditional materials and hopefully will last another 200 years before it needs doing again. You remember that that isn't our bit of land, well done as I cut the mention of that out of the video to avoid the dreaded question of.. " why don't you own that building or that bit of land" lol. We couldn't leave it like it was even though the farmer said to stack it all there to rot down. The chipper did me proud and topped up the wood chip paths a treat. Thank you William for being a channel member, watching and commenting :-)
Great little catch-up video, Dawn - Ben. Mum and I, are just watching you two, in your everyday life, Mum is very impressed by your stonework, she remarked it looks really great, we are both really proud of what you two are achieving, Ben your log store has come along really well, looks in keeping with where you are, very rustic. That was a lovely surprise for you, Dawn. Georgie and Harley coming over for a visit, oh and we loved the Sunrise.❤❤xxx.
We are getting there Rob and Kath and enjoying it all just as when we first got here. Wiser to the stonework, wiser to how things work and need to be done and 18 months older haha. Dawn is doing a remarkable job isn't she, we know who she takes after for the perfectionist in her! Yep, the wood store is doing OK, it hasn't blown away yet.... early days yet though. Georgia and I sorted it a good while ago and it was so nice for her and Harley to just walk in the back door as if it was normal. Dawn and Lukas' face were a picture. We had a few morning sunrises like that, the colour of the sky was amazing. Love you both xxxx
Thanks MF, Dawn is certainly a stayer, I would have been bored ages ago and dying to do something different. I am lucky that I get to varied things to stop me getting bored, even then I get bored hahahaha. Thanks again MF
We agree the TheBlueMoo, it would be a shame to let these building just fall apart and then eventually fall down. Bit by bit we are getting there, inside and out :-)
Kind of sad to be done binge watching... now I have to wait for all of the next instalments. Lovely work Dawn, it's getting stronger every day, that building!
Ben, that log store is a work of beauty! Functional and attractive. Bit like Dawn, really. 😘The gable end is looking amazing. It may be hard to see your progress, but we remember when it was just a mountain of impenetrable foliage with some random rock showing. It's your own, personal Jenga and it has to be heart stopping taking out some of that ivy. 😬 I'm sure Ben did a lot this week with Dawn glued to her scaffolding. Someone obviously fed you and the kitties and maintained the status quo indoors and out. That's the problem with making things nice: you have to maintain them. Before, no one noticed dust or an extra couple of feet of vine. Which is my recent housekeeping motto: After the first few years, the dust doesn't get any worse. 👍 It's starting to look a bit wintery there. We had a sunny, 90f/32c day yesterday here in Nebraska, USA. I'm watching you in sweaters as I sit in front of a fan. The heat is getting old this summer. At least the corn is dry for harvest. I suppose when the weather changes to winter it will land like an avalanche. It's been that kind of year. The weather all over the planet has been quite scary; watching some of the floods in Europe is scary. Sooo glad you aren't in that tent!!! P.S. Glad to see the safety goggles! A contractor friend was laying laminate flooring the other day and one of the screws sheered off and lightly embedded in his eye. They think his retina should be okay, but he has a 10 lb lifting restriction - and some others- for few weeks, which is slowing him down and frustrating. He wasn't wearing goggles as he wasn't cutting anything and wasn't right on top of the work - but freak accident. 🤷♀Kind of like the scaffolding, BEN. 🤯Those kittens are looking very lovely and can always move stateside. 🤕😉
Good evening :-) How are you? Dawn is much nicer to look at than my wood store. I should find some original footage really to show how it was when we first arrived, 75% was covered on the gable. The closer to the top Dawn gets the looser the stones are, it won't be long until the top stones are removed before the last bit of ivy is removed and we will go from there. I say we as in a pair we can keep an eye on movement as ivy is removed. I have to be honest, Dawn does it all. I am not a cook what so ever and by the time Dawn shows me what to do she has done it. I have never seen anyone prepare a salad as quickly as Dawn. She is amazing with everything she does, she looks after us :) A sunny 32c day.... hmmmm, let me try and remember the last time I saw 32c..... Nope, far too long ago... years in fact. It is getting cold here now with ice on the windscreen of the car this morning, I can't wait to get the fire in the living room fitted and all fired up. I think the safety glasses are more often on than off now and the hard hat is a must. That doesn't sound great with his eye, hopefully he is on the mend now. Ah yes.... the scaffold pole... it did come down with a thud, then my silence as I held my head and then the words "oh Ben it is "hissing" blood. All was fine though :-) The cats are great, we love them to bits. Each different but all as loving. You will have to fight with Dawn for them to come and visit you hahahaha. Thank you as always for being here with us :-) xx
Oh we are so chuffed with how it all has come back to life now. Looking forward to tidying it up again this autumn and winter ready again for next spring 😊
I find it far more fascinating to watch you tackle the ivy roots than anything else. Thanks for showing that! Another thought: the pointing would go twice as fast if two of you were doing it together!
Hi Susan More root removal coming up :-) It would go much much faster but while Dawn is doing the walls and the repairs to the building, something she took on as a personal challenge, I can be doing other things which need doing. A lot gets done which isn't filmed, sometimes just stuff everyone does in day to day life, other things are filmed like the wood shed, the IBCs, plumbing and so on, but I certainly won't deny Dawn has a lot more staying power than I do, she is meticulous and so patient. Thank you so much for watching and commenting :-)
Hi Dawn and Ben!! lol. What a chuckle over the “mess”. But honestly, look at the systems you’ve created! It’s so impressive. I’m loving the wall, Dawn, but it seems like she’s losing her “lace” as you’re taking off the ivy roots/branches. 😂😂 But every day it looks better. I love the area Ben cleaned out. Looks like the focal point of a secret garden! Loved the video! See you on the next one! 👋👋👋👋
Hi Josefina, how are you? Sorry for the late reply. Oh the "lace" is so much better gone that staying. It did look nice but looks much nicer the more that comes off. That bit of land was pile high, so high with old Ivy and tree, we really didn't know what we were going to do with it. I decided the chipper may do the job..... it did. Now it just looks nicer than a huge pile of old vegetation. Thank you as ever Josefina and we will see you Sunday :-)
Dawn & Ben are saving up for a type of Aga wood burning kitchen stove/water heater/furnace they are quite expensive and I would like to see her get a good one/fancy even lol Please "Buy them a coffee", their link is in the description = click the *more* and scroll down. I wrote you a lovely message and forgot to hit the comment button.. It's one of those days lol. We could see fine under the tarp and it made it feel like I was under there with you helping. So glad you were able to spend some time with your daughter, she must be impressed with all you have done so far. Ben, using your brain to figure out how to heat the house for the winter is doing something, don't sell yourself short. Dawn, you are using those tools like a pro now, Well Done! I love those smiles on your beautiful faces
Aww thank you Janey! That means a lot….we’re getting there with the funds. I’ve seen a lovely one in the last couple of days that I have my eye on but need to save a few more pennies yet lol. Secondhand but in amazing condition. Fingers crossed it hangs around unsold. If not, there will be others I’m sure. It’s rather nice up under that tarp, nice and peaceful and dry! lol Oh yes our daughter is so proud of us! She tells all of her customers of the Costa that she is manager at and a fair few watch us too! Quite mind blowing really to think we are on TH-cam!
@@thecornerhouseproject Never mind any of the critics out there - no one is sleeping in the kitchen this winter. You are doing fantastic!!! I am so happy for you about the restored fire in the salon
Absolutely brilliant work and attention to detail Dawn, and the slowly cutting away of the ivy is a really good idea! That out building is going to be so strong and sturdy when you get done with it! 😊💚
Slowly slowly with the Ivy. More gone now with more to go, but Dawn is getting there. Although it doesn't really show up, the repair work needed is quite surprising where the ivy had gone in and destroyed the lime behind the actual stones you can see. Each hole is of course loving filled and repaired... this is Dawn we are talking about lol. Thank you as always for being with us :-)
Hello guys, you are almost there. It's looking amazing already and I do love watching some fellow fifty something people lol. I'm sure you don't feel your age, does he feel fifty Dawn, if you're the one doing the feeling 😜. Sorry I couldn't help it, you guys are going for it and that is the important thing, enjoy every moment. Huge hugs from Cape Town.❤️
HAHAHAHAHA, my body feels 50 Neuton lol, my head not so much. Thank you so very much as always for watching and commenting and for being a channel member :-)
Ben fantastic job on the woodshed also very handy for your empty gas bottles .Dawn you are achieving great success with the. gable end wall of the outhouse .A real labour of patience Dawn . I hope you enjoyed your weekend with your daughter. I'm sure a very welcome break. God bless and take care xx
Hi Colette and thank you. Sadly the gas bottles seem to run out too quickly but hopefully very soon the living room will have it's own stove keeping it nice and warm instead of gas fires. Dawn work is incredible, much more patient than I am, I would be bored by now after this time, but each day she is there getting closer to the top. We had a lovely weekend thank you but seems so long ago now. There will be a next time though and for longer :-) See you Sunday Colette and thank you :-)
This one has had ivy on it so long I think it had forgotten what is was like to never have ivy on it. It will certainly look different when finished. Everything is looking great with you and your place Ash. It all takes time doesn't it. See you soon :-)
Dawn's wall is looking so good. It completely changed the look around the window when the ivy roots were cleared. I think the idea is to put hard hats on before you get clobbered on the head🥴. Have a good week guys.🤗🇬🇧
Hi Tyene We enjoy a bit of faffing about here and there. It isn't very often we don't have a laugh for some reason each day. Thank you as always Tyene :-)
New subscriber here hello👋. You popped up as I watch some other renovation channels. Have binged watched between work etc and have just caught up. You've done a tremendous job so far and have enjoyed watching you both. My late mum was from Belfast so I've seen my fair share of the beautiful countryside over there on the many holidays spent as a child. You have some lovely thoughtful, kind, generous neighbours. Look forward to the next video.
Hello 👋 thank you for subscribing to us and an even bigger thank you for binge watching us! It truly is a very beautiful country to be in and the neighbours have been amazing. We feel very lucky to have landed here ❤️
It would be lovely to rush but what would we do next week? hahaha There is so much to be done but we are lucky to have no deadlines so we are able to do some of this and some of that and in an order some may find bizarre. Money tends to dictate what can and can't be done at times but everything we do is a step towards our end goal and is also part of our dream, living our lives how we are living them. Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
You talked about removing the cement render on the house. There is a couple who moved to France from Belgum, and they are removing their cement render. on their stone house. Their youtube channel is called "Domaine Sauvage". I love watching how well you two work together. You each have skills that complement each other. I renovated my home pretty much on my own. When you have the right equipment, the job goes faster. Jane, Philadelphia
Thank you Jane, I think I may have watched that channel before but will have another look too. You’re spot on with the tools, it makes life so much easier having the right thing for the job. We just need a mini digger, ride on mower…etc in our tool box now 😂
good job dawn. if you put some wall ties sticking out at the edges where you meet the old capping that has to come off it will secure the new capping you put on yeah.
Cheers Adam, good idea. 👍 Hopefully be able to take all the old capping off soonish. Trying to get the main bulk of it secure before wiggling that about 😂
Thank you very much Rebeca. Dawn is getting there week by week. It is looking like the top stones might be removed in the coming week and all Ivy removed, we will see how it goes though. Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
Aww thank you Carrie. The top is finally insight, that will be nice feeling getting the top section repaired and structurally sound. The part I am on now though is a lot of repair time and then the smaller stones means more to pint around too. I will get there though.
Thanks Mitch. No, the camera doesn't and the video can't show how much work goes in to each day with repairs and then pointing etc, but it will look amazing when done and so much safer. Yeah, much colder now, I am not looking forward to winter... roll on summer..... is there a summer in Ireland?
I love your videos. The wood shed is awesome great use of pallet wood. Dawn you’re doing an amazing job. I can appreciate the time and care you put into restoring the gable end.
I love digging out roots, and I love pointing. I was wondering why you guys just didn't take down all that section of wall and roof that has the ivy growing in it? I'm sure there's a reason why? You guys are doing a fabulous job. And just think 2 years ago you were sleeping outside in a tent! You've come a long way baby! I am excited for the inside renovations. Much love from Oklahoma USA Jackie 🇺🇸 💖 PS I Love the time lapses 😁
Hello Jackie, how are you? I thought of you when I was editing and the time lapse parts were added. There will be more. The very top of the wall will come down and be rebuilt. Initially it looked like a lot would need bring down and then not so much and no even less. It won't be long until the top boulders are taken off and rebuilt. Yes, Up until September last year we were in the tent, then sleeping in the kitchen until December 23rd. We can't believe is has been nearly another 12 months since that time. Something in the house will be done soon. Thank you as always Jackie for watching and commenting on our videos :-)
Bless you both. I have restored several properties now, but It is very evident that you guys are much more suited to this stuff than I was. You seem to be so much more committed to putting in the hours than I probably would have been, so my hat is off to you both and you will end up with something beautiful and lasting. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Celeste, thank you for watching and commenting. Once we know for sure we will share it all. At the moment nothing is set in stone apart from the building Dawn is repairing will become a workshop and storage. Once that is done we can work on the other buildings. The top section of land just behind the buildings will potentially become a "private" garden and then a growing area past that. The bottom part of the land will be animals. Don't hold us to it though as we do change our minds as time goes on and various options are ruled out or new ones are realised, but on a whole that is a rough idea at the moment. Thank you so much again and we will for sure let you know our plans :-)
Another excellent vlog showing all of the hard work you both do making improvements to your wonderful cottage. Dawn you have become such an expert in building and repairing stone walls and buildings. So happy to see all of the progress you are making before the cold weather sets in. See you next week!
Hi Cristy, how are you? Dawn's confidence is incredible. She starts up each morning and away she goes. Repairing, filling, replacing the missing stones and then finally pointing up the front of the wall to hide all of her hard work. It is such a shame you don't get to see what goes into these walls, not just Dawn's repairs but what is hidden and buried behind the lime pointing. Thank you so much Cristy for joining us each week and for being a channel member :-)
Hi Ben, you are so right Dawn is amazing and such a very hard worker in whatever she does. Am so pleased to have the opportunity to follow what both of you are doing to improve your wonderful Irish farmhouse! Such an impressive improvement of its very good bones. It will be totally awesome when it’s finished b
Very careful indeed. The higher it goes, the closer those top stone are to toppling off. We are looking forward to removing them. At the moment though, the ivy which holds them, also holds stones which can be repair without removal, but won't be long until all of the ivy will be gone. Thanks Vickie for watching and commenting :-)
I love seeing the view from the upper windows. You two must gaze out that window and think Wow, I can’t believe we have done all that. Dawn that end may feel like slow work but it is amazing what you have done with it. Ben I look forward to seeing what you do with that hearth. The woodshed is a nice addition…I like how you are sprucing it up, and that it is cat approved. I spent the week canning and was wondering if either of you had plans to can this fall. Then I remembered, when do you two have the time. The rain has been wild here on the east coast, I hope it doesn’t get that bad for y’all. See ya next week.
Oh Dory you couldn’t know just how spot on you were! Every evening when we go to get pj’s on, I stop, lean on the window sill and look out of over the land and I never tire of seeing it! Now that autumn is here and the leaves are dropping we can so much more as well! Pure bliss!
Wow over 20K subscribers is very well done guys but we are fascinated in that wall restoration is fantastic. Did you say Ben was good in the Chippendales for getting rid if Ivy 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nice fuel storage to keep it dry. No matter what your doing is always great to watch.
Thanks Simon. Ooh I know! Who would have thought we would hit 20k! Certainly not us! 😂 The log store is great and it all looks a lot tidier now with everything all in the one place. The wall is looking so good and so close to the top now, long long job but it’s definitely worth the effort and time. 😊
How I love to see the removing of the ivy and the pointing Dawn does! To see the wall get it's strength and beauty back! The woodshed is fine, Ben. It is doing its job. See you next week with some better weather I hope.

The work Dawn is doing is amazing, so many repairs get done as she is going upwards, cavities filled, missing stones are replaced and then she finally gets to point the front of the stones hiding her time and effort put in. The fire for the living room is here, currently a work in progress but we are very excited. cookies, biscuits, they all taste great dipped in a cup of tea. Hopefully soon in front of the stove :-)

We have plenty of heaps around the place and it’s nice to know that wildlife will put them to good use. We do have a wildlife cam and have captured badgers and pine martens on it so far. We haven’t viewed the footage in a while so must set it up properly again now the seasons are changing,
Dawn you are doing a beautiful job on that wall. You’re an inspiration to women with your work ethic. I really enjoy you working on the wall.
Thank you very much indeed :-)
That wall looks stunning, Dawn. And Ben, all the "little" things you're doing add up to a whole that is definitely greater than the sum of its parts.
Every day the outside of the gable is a little closer to being finished and 100% safe and ivy free. Very true with the little things and even those take time. I do some behind the scenes stuff too :-)
It goes without saying Evelyn, but thank you.
Dawn you are amazing , you will be teaching lime mortaring next . Great job , you are both a great team . NEVER GIVE UP X
Ginger really looked like he had a little clipboard and was looking over the job site, evaluating his worker's performance!
It’s not a job done well until the cats have passed it! Ooh I love the image of them sat with little clipboards and pens! Ooh ooh and a tiny little hard hat each too….high vis anyone? 🐾
Thank you for the closeups of the ivy removal! I love watching you work from closeup so I can actually see what you're doing. Its fascinating.
No problem at all. That Ivy is such a tricky pest weaving into everything but sooo satisfying finally being able to remove it!
I am so glad you are strengthening the wall as you move higher. It is stunning. I love old stone buildings being renovated. 💖
Hi Luminya
Yes, it seemed the best way to do it. Repair and repoint and work upwards, only removing ivy once the part below it is repaired and strong again.
One day all of them will be fully restored.... note the "one day" though lol.
Wow the wall is looking Great! And the wood store too! Well done both of You!
The neighbours have been so complimentary about the wall and I’m so looking forward to getting the scaffold down and being able to see it all done!
it's looking amazing Dawn and no i could not hear your tummy rumble lol, i look forward to sundays to watch your progress x
Hahahaha, that is good to know Tom, I was a bit hungry.
Thanks as always :-)
You two are doing such a great job. I love how that building is turning out. Give the kitty cats a hug from me! 🐈🐈🐈🐈
Thank you! Consider them hugged! 🐈🐈🐈🤗🤗🤗
Rodent Highways. I now need blinders as I read. Lol. But Ivy is so pretty, especially in the fall. Too bad it is so destructive.
Hello there you have done such an amazing job of the place it looks so stunning
Thank you so much 😊
You have been working so hard lovely to see you both smiling 😊
Love you both xxxx
love watching you both doing great work and dawn you got some patience doing the wall its looking great
Thanks MF, Dawn is certainly a stayer, I would have been bored ages ago and dying to do something different. I am lucky that I get to varied things to stop me getting bored, even then I get bored hahahaha.
Thanks again MF
Dawn is such a hard worker, it is amazing how much she accomplishes. Good job Dawn!
Thank you Sadie 🥰
It's so nice to see that old building getting saved, bit by bit. Good job, you guys!
Aww we know that feeling with binge watching things! We’re very glad you took the time to binge watch us though. It means a lot! ❤️
It's starting to look a bit wintery there.
She is amazing with everything she does, she looks after us :)
A sunny 32c day.... hmmmm, let me try and remember the last time I saw 32c.....
All was fine though :-)
The cats are great, we love them to bits. Each different but all as loving. You will have to fight with Dawn for them to come and visit you hahahaha.
Thank you as always for being here with us :-) xx
Your trees have mostly recovered beautifully. You must be so happy with them, and the local birdlife is certainly happy.
Oh we are so chuffed with how it all has come back to life now. Looking forward to tidying it up again this autumn and winter ready again for next spring 😊
I could watch you all day Dawn ,just pointing those walls. You are doing a great job.Love the log store.❤
Aww thank you Wendy! It’s truly a lovely job to do, so calm and peaceful.
you will be a stonemason by the time you finish it all dawn, looks great
Haha, I could live with that! It’s a very enjoyable job to do. I’d love to shadow a real one and see how it’s done properly though 😂
😊😊 Good to see you till working on what will be you perfect home and farm.
We don't know how long it will all take Julia, but we are certainly enjoying life and fulfilling our dream bit by bit.
Looking good Dawn. Keep digging and you’ll get there xxxx😊😊😊😊😊
Thank you 🤩
Looks fab, Dawn! You’ll be ready to hire out your pointing skills when you finally finish on the house and buildings! Really impressive!
Thank you! And ooh yes…new career path!
I find it far more fascinating to watch you tackle the ivy roots than anything else. Thanks for showing that!
Another thought: the pointing would go twice as fast if two of you were doing it together!
Hi Susan
More root removal coming up :-)
It would go much much faster but while Dawn is doing the walls and the repairs to the building, something she took on as a personal challenge, I can be doing other things which need doing.
Its beautiful. Another big chunk of ivy to go i see !
Yes, still quite a bit to go, more twisted, really stuck in bits soon too :-)
Thank you for watching and commenting Camilla
It’s rather nice up under that tarp, nice and peaceful and dry! lol
Oh yes our daughter is so proud of us!
I love how you are always happy and smiling. 🤩
Most of the time Angela yes, we are certainly enjoying our lives :-)
Dawn you are doing mighty fine job!!!
There will be a next time though and for longer :-)
See you Sunday Colette and thank you :-)
I love buildings that have the vines growing up through them, but also they are such a nightmare structurally! Another great job done :) ❤
Virginia creeper doesnt dig into the walls like Ivy. And goes a vibrant red in autumn
@@Mitch-Hendren oh thank you, I will look into that I’d love some on my place!! Thank you!
This one has had ivy on it so long I think it had forgotten what is was like to never have ivy on it. It will certainly look different when finished.
Everything is looking great with you and your place Ash. It all takes time doesn't it.
See you soon :-)
Love watching you guys. Everything is coming along slowly, its looking great. Well done both ❤❤❤❤
Dawn's wall is looking so good. It completely changed the look around the window when the ivy roots were cleared. I think the idea is to put hard hats on before you get clobbered on the head🥴. Have a good week guys.🤗🇬🇧
Hahahaha yes I think so with the hard hats! Learning the hard way! 😉🤣
Great to see you both, and to see your hard work paying off..keep it up guys👍
Thank you so much Eric 😁 each day is a but more done and a little bit closer to the top.
Thanks for the super thanks too :-)
Well done you two .my favourite people on u tube x
Aww thank you Julia 🥹❤️
Credit to you Dawn….you’re doing an amazing job x
Thank you ❤️
Great work you guys. Your repointing is going extremely well Dawn. It looks excellent. Love the wood shed Ben.
Thank Horza! It’s looking much better the more time that goes on!
Both projects are looking great!😊😊
Thank you very much Bobbie :-)
Hope you are well :-)
Still love watching you both even if it’s fluffing about 😊
Hi Tyene
We enjoy a bit of faffing about here and there. It isn't very often we don't have a laugh for some reason each day.
Thank you as always Tyene :-)
Laughing along with you two! Thankyou! ❤ XXX
Great job guys, nice to see you both smiling again.
Thanks Lynn, always time for a smile or a laugh, sometimes both hahaha.
Thank you for watching and commenting Lynn and following our lives :-)
Dawn and Ben, the pair of you are diligent and hard workers! Your home and surroundings are looking very nice! Well done!
Thank you very much indeed Irish Dancer, that is very kind :-)
We feel very lucky to have landed here ❤️
Love your attitude no rushing
Keep it up your doing a grand job👍
It would be lovely to rush but what would we do next week? hahaha
There is so much to be done but we are lucky to have no deadlines so we are able to do some of this and some of that and in an order some may find bizarre. Money tends to dictate what can and can't be done at times but everything we do is a step towards our end goal and is also part of our dream, living our lives how we are living them.
Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
You are doing a remarkable job Dawn! Well done. ❤🇨🇦👏👏👏
Thank you so much Penny and thank you for watching and commenting :-)
Really great work Dawn! The gable end looks wonderful!
Thank you 🤩
You talked about removing the cement render on the house.
We just need a mini digger, ride on mower…etc in our tool box now 😂
Not a surprise that it's been Dawn doing most of the work!😅 I like watching you cutting the vines with the electric knife! Therapeutic.
🤣 You know Ben so well Kath! 😉
Your pointing is brilliant Dawn it's all looking so neat and sturdy. The log store is great and all the clearing which has made so much difference❤
good job dawn. if you put some wall ties sticking out at the edges where you meet the old capping that has to come off it will secure the new capping you put on yeah.
Cheers Adam, good idea. 👍 Hopefully be able to take all the old capping off soonish. Trying to get the main bulk of it secure before wiggling that about 😂
You guys have come a long way.
Thank you 🤩
You two are so cute! Nice to see your videos. Little by little, Dawn is conquering that wall 😂 you're so patient. Well done you two!
Thank you very much Rebeca.
Dawn is getting there week by week. It is looking like the top stones might be removed in the coming week and all Ivy removed, we will see how it goes though.
Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
I love the music while you are pointing
Thank you, Ben spends a lot of time trying to get the music right to the job so that’s lovely to hear 😊
Your home and surroundings show the love and work!❤
They are a work in progress Rebecca but we are getting there.
Thank you as always for watching and commenting :-)
Wall looks beautiful Dawn! 😊
Thank you so much Andie.
Hi Ben and Dawn that wall is looking fantastic. Dawn you are the pointing queen. See you back next week
Aww thank you Carrie. The top is finally insight, that will be nice feeling getting the top section repaired and structurally sound. The part I am on now though is a lot of repair time and then the smaller stones means more to pint around too. I will get there though.
Loved watching you two work. You are amazing
Thank you ❤️
I think you are two Great fifty year olds😅. I love that you laugh together
Aww thank you! You gotta laugh haven’t you? Lots of stress doing this but on a whole we are having a whale of time doing it!
I liked and it flashed👍
Grand job on the gable . Camera doesn't do it justice, good to know heads ok. Deffo getting colder . Can feel it in the air of an evening.
Bonjour quelle patience bon courage
Ben - the wood is stacked and looking good. Dawn’s wall looks great.
Thank you 🤩
amazing work again! love the wood shed !
Thank you! Yes, it looks sooo good doesn’t it. Much tidier than the open pile we had before. He did good! 🥰
I love your videos. The wood shed is awesome great use of pallet wood. Dawn you’re doing an amazing job. I can appreciate the time and care you put into restoring the gable end.
Thank you Kaye 🥰
❤❤
❤❤
❤🎉 love it!
I Love watching you chip away at the bloody ivy... bit by bit
Bit by bit and a bit more. Still the twisted stuff at the top to come off, but getting there :-)
Bless you both. I have restored several properties now, but It is very evident that you guys are much more suited to this stuff than I was. You seem to be so much more committed to putting in the hours than I probably would have been, so my hat is off to you both and you will end up with something beautiful and lasting. Thanks for sharing.
Oh it is a hard hard going process isn’t it? Some days are harder than others!
Hi Ben and Dawn can you make video of what your planning for outside area with the buildings and gardens 😊
Nice work … a labor of love
It is indeed Vicki but will all be worth it in the end.
Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
You are a lovely couple! Love you ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awwww thank you so much Aleksandra :)
Very careful game of stone and ivy Jenga.
I am intrigued by your perseverance! Great work Dawn & Ben.
I have an abundance of perseverance, the bones and joints don’t align with how much perseverance my brain has though!
Brilliant work and honest xx
Thank you Marian
How I love to see the removing of the ivy and the pointing Dawn does! To see the wall get it's strength and beauty back! The woodshed is fine, Ben. It is doing its job. See you next week with some better weather I hope.
All Ivy now gone! Yay! 🥳
Thanks
Thank you very much indeed Eric, this is very kind of you. ❤️
@@thecornerhouseproject You are both very welcome😉👍
