    The story and passion behind the brand is very genuine. I was even surprised when I saw they were able to sponsor cars knowing that anything related to the tobacco industry has been banned since Malboro got pulled in sports. A shame that they couldn't continue despite having no tabacoo in their products.
    I completely agree with the push for modern cars in pro drift because that's exactly what it used to be in D1 when it first started. It's weird seeing the chassis I drooled over 20 years ago still being used today. New chassis and development mean the survival of the tuning aftermarket and introducing the sport to newer generations the same way we grew up with chassis and jzx machines.

      id rather run my 86. 5.13gr with 180ish crank. she catches 500hp sr s13s in the first corner and if i have a good line im on their door to the end. low power high gearing has something special and i miss seeing it. now its like 250hp 4age with 4.10s. yuck. having said that id die for a 90s or 2000s mk 2. that would be crazy cool imo

    • @Wildchildinc
      @Wildchildinc 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rattyratstuff7125 That's perfectly fine because that serves as a handicap for anyone you drive against. You'd more than likely demolish easily with a more capable machine because of all the experience from a less powerful car. Just from progress and competitive standpoint for the modern business of pro drift, id much prefer embracing the push for new vehicles and technology as it did back then.

    I think we’re glossing over the fact that marketing expenses (I guess prior to the tobacco designation thing for this guy) can largely be written off as an expense. If you’re a small-medium business owner, you’re savvy about it, and you can bank roll it while it’s happening, you could write off a large portion of FD expenses as a title sponsor.

    • @gokartsRfun
      @gokartsRfun 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve always thought that’s why the big companies jump in and out, you can only write off so much marketing $$ in motorsport for so long. So they move marketing $$’s around to keep from getting audited lol

    I understand the new car thing for sponsors, but it sucks for smaller guys that can’t afford a newer chassis and all the R&D that it requires to be competitive. The Sorenson cars are kinda a cheat code being e46 chassis with 2 series body’s.
