A remix which sends shivers up anyones spine who hears its glacial song. calling it cool would be an understatement, as it was built upon at a slow yet steady pace over years. From the tip of its potential to the inky void of its power bellow the frigid waters, the room gets sub-zero yet the beats are enough to warm the hearts of those listening. Ice is something which has beauty in the lifeless, something which shows strength and resilience in the face of harshness. And while it can seem unfeeling, the cold brings us together and with that bolsters our bonds with each other. This remix has the soul of a snow storm, as it gradually builds up and up, all while keeping a refined edge to its sound. It's good to have you back again, and your more laid back remixes are a delight, hope you have a lovely day and are able to relax a little now that all the chaos of college and a major move has subsided :)
cool to see you're back to making remixes, been listening for a while but never commented. im not personally familiar with this track but this remix hits and the art adds a lot to the vibe
Aw thanks man. I’ve been really trying to focus on rhythmic elements recently. Especially with percussion choices and what not. Much appreciated homie 😎
Wow, what a lovely piece! This honestly has become a thing of near-obsession for me over the past week, since it showed up in my recommendations last week. And don't get me wrong - I enjoyed it immensely when it first debuted half a year ago, but with the winter season approaching, this feels more timely and on-theme than ever. Your sound selection is truly brilliant, and I love that you're always innovating in your music with new instruments and synths that invoke strong feelings of nostalgia and wonder. The instrumentation here is immaculate, and the combination of retro-styled synth leads, organic supports, and rhythmic parts galore makes for a rich and immersive sound. The whistle lead that you mentioned is such a neat sound, and I love the portamento effect that the tone has, with a light and breathy noise layer. Although it fits perfectly here and in your Nutty Noon remix, it also feels quite reminiscent of the Earthbound/Mother 3 sound style. In fact, quite a few of the instruments do, like that organ support first heard at 1:32, the spacious pads and warm bass throughout, and the kind of ethereal, spacey quality that so many of the instruments have (especially that synth brass!). One of my favorite details is the use of those glassy chimes (first heard at 0:37), as they really add some gentle, wintry magic that fits the soundscape superbly. I really can't get over how lovely the instrument choices are, and wow well everything fits into the mix - the density and clarity is astounding! The percussive elements also warrant specific mention, as the groove you've created is satisfying and smooth, yet driving and powerful at times. The hats have this great sizzle to them, and the variety in note length and velocity makes for a very cool pattern in the hats alone. I'm a big fan of the auxiliary percussion, as well, with those subtle clavis and that genius pair of wood block notes to cap off each measure - what a neat anchoring detail! And the switch between the gentle snare in the more toned-down segments and that bigger, more impactful snare in the wide-open parts makes for a great contrast that really sells the energy shift! You're a master at creating these genuinely moving moments, when a new phrase causes the song to really take flight, like at the aforementioned 1:32 and especially 3:08... that part always gets me when you just pull out all the stops and debut the electric guitar. It's just fantastic, really, and I can picture myself looking up at an aurora-covered sky... which, interestingly enough, I had the opportunity to see back in October, as a northern NJ resident. That was an experience I'll genuinely never forget, and I feel like it would have been made even more special if I had thought to listen to this song on that night... 20/20 hindsight, I guess! 😅 And speaking of breathtaking sights, I'm as impressed as ever by your artwork and visualizer design here! Ice was always my distinct favorite ability as a kid (now it's a collection of abilities that I can't decide on) so seeing that ability shown here was a nostalgic delight. It's a perfect choice for this winter scene, and the "skating" pose is just icing on the... well, ice, I guess! The color gradients in both the sky and the crystals in Kirby's headpiece are beautiful, and the way that the colors tastefully smear into each other across the sky makes for a captivating design. Fantastic use of highlights and shadows, and the linework is exceptional! Having the audio spectrum bars peaking behind the icy horizon is a cool detail, as well, and I love when people's EQ spectrum reactors are integrated creatively into the scene, like you've done here. I feel like I really can't say enough about the level of polish in both the music and visuals, and this is definitely my favorite piece of yours from 2024. Thanks for all the work you put into your remix videos, and for continuing to show such heartfelt appreciation for your community. Wishing you a peaceful holiday season, my man! 🩵
Man I’ve missed seeing your comments in my notifications 🥹 your detailed commentary always makes my day. I needed it alot right now haha. But wow you really went in depth here. I love how you time stamped where certain instruments and sections are, makes it alot easier for me to understand what parts you’re talking about. I’m so glad you enjoyed the section with the guitar. And I absolutely adore the way you worded it, “that part always gets me when you pull out all the stops and bring out the electric guitar…” That part of the song is my favorite, mixing in the guitar with the synths just felt so wrong but so right at the same time. I did a similar thing with my Nutty Noon remix as well, it also felt right. As for the percussion… I enjoyed mixing that as well. Using more retro styles of percussion for the beginning, then once it gets to the end, it brings out more RnB inspired drums and rhythms. The dynamics was my main focus, switching up the beat and really making your head rock. Thanks so much for the feedback and insight into your thoughts on this piece. Again, I always appreciate hearing from you Equalyze. Have a great day 💜
Surprised all the snow hasn't melted from the amount of heat🔥
Kirby will always hit different
FOR REAL
Mr. Frosty Chilly are drinking hot cocoa to this one.
HAHA I can see it now
I don't think I've ever heard the original, this still feels nostalgic to me 😊
The colors of the art god damn🥶🥶🥶
😎👍💜

This is just too good, I never knew the original but your remix captures the essence and just makes so much more cosmic, amazing
Much appreciated 😎👍 I’m glad my music was able to give you that vibe
Your remixes are so good! Same goes for the art too!
Thanks Mr Gamertristan 😎 always glad to hear my viewers are enjoying the art as well
I was hoping to see and hear the Remix of "Showtime".
But this song still sounds cool
COMING SOON I PROMISE! 😎🤞
Wow it sounds amazing! I hope to listen to Sandy Wilds soon.
I’ll put it in my recommendation’s list 😎
This is the only synthwave / lofi I like. 😊
Thank you so much 😎
@@Typho157 No problem, I'm glad you understood what I meant (I suck at wording sometimes, hence the emoji for clarification).
Haha no problem! I interpreted it as you like synth wave/ lofi that resembles this remix
DANG. That’s really good. How did you get your hands on a lead synth that sounds just like the original?
I made it myself! Using a VST called Vital. It can be made with most VSTs though 😎👍
@@Typho157 What settings did you use?
I can send you the preset on discord if you’d like!
