I love the Mt Fuji screw shaped screw at the top. I wish they did that with all the 3776 models, it’s a nice touch.
Thank you, Mike. The card, removed from the plastic when held over the left eye, provides a correct retinal scan at the first underwater gate into Platinum Skull Island Oshino. The lock is proprietary so international won't work. Also, watch out for the spider droids. This message will self-delete in 5 seconds.

"A fountain pen is a controlled leak at all times." Truer words have never been spoken! Ha- I found your video while inking up my Platinum 3776 (Nagasawa) for the first time! It looks just like yours except its gold rather than white gold / silver colored. I was growing impatient with the ink entering the feed, but your video really helped me not panic when I saw the ink hit the bottom of the nib. I prefer the thinnest possible nib. So, of course the UEF is what attracted me to the Platinum 3776. Mine was professionally tuned and a smooth writer with (yama budo) Pilot Iroshizuku Ink! Thanks for the video!

The little tag has its model code. PNB-20000A means its retail price in Japan is JPY20,000.
The standard 3776 century models are PNB-10000 versions, the white and lauren green are PNB-13000.

It certainly can be. I have some pens and pockets that are not good matches!
I hesitate to complicate things further, but there is yet another measurement that might be useful on some pens to some people. My hands are probably "medium" in size since I wear medium work gloves comfortably and use almost all pens easily, but for certain unnamed FP-reviewers of the world who can easily palm a basketball with (apparently) ginormous hands, the length of smaller "pocket" pens from the end of the grip closest to the nib to the end of the barrel would give an idea as to whether the pen could be used uncapped.

Mike i like the Oshino version the material to me loks better than the more matt model. I have got the Bourgogne with medium nib and i have noticed mine writes on the dry side as well and more like a fine than a medium. Excellent review and comparison . Thanks again.
They're certainly different aesthetics, but I love them both.

I have three Platinum #3776's, the clear Nice, 'Cobalt Blue' music nib, and the Lavande Nice, very nice writers.

Mike i forgot to mention i bought mine direct from Japan for £61.00 but it came with no converter just a cartridge and warranty no other paper work. I bought a converter for it which didn't cost that much anyway. So for the price i paid for the pen and the converter still came to less than the price if i had bought it here in the UK. So i can't grumble at that.
Yep, for some reason pens that come straight from Japan don't ship with converters. Perhaps their local market is more into carts, or maybe everyone just has spare converters sitting around. I dunno.
Mike exactly good point, but either way i don't think it would cost that much more for them to include a converter.And as i said earlier it did still work out cheaper even if i had to buy the converter separately. Thanks again.

I really love these pens. They keep making new ones, and I'll probably keep buying them. There's a teal one coming out soon with a wave pattern, and I can't see my self not buying it.
Mike, which ink brands work the best for you in Platinum pens? I got my first 3776 in May and found that Blackstone inks tend to be too dry for it. Even Waterman Serenity Blue is like that:(
You know, I've been using fairly dry inks in Platinums lately, and it's been a mistake. I'd look for anything that's kinda wet in order to make it flow well. I think I'll try out some Monteverde or Colorverse or something in them soon.
