@@dhwanikhokhar9835 I rented it from redbox years ago, and watched it twice, it has so much more depth than the average romcom. I really am shocked it is not more popular.
I didn't want to see this movie, when it released. In Russian its title is "Boyfriend from future" and I thought it is another lame romcom or whatever. I've never been so wrong. This movie isn't about romantic at all. It's about life and how to live it. About choices, about being in the moment. I love it. It's one of the most wonderful and sweetest movies I've ever seen.
it is super romantic though and sweet like no movie ever. Its also just a great movie, making you tear up a lot. And yeah. Its just also about life and how to take, but there is a lot of romance at the center of it.
Same here i thought it would be a cliche and didn't bothered a few months later i decided to give a watch and became my favourite film ever i can't think of many films that manage to accomplish so much not having a precise plot, it's a film about life it's an experience
Although the editing of the scene makes it seem like he only went back in time for a few minutes, Tim probably went back in time and avoided the meeting with Charlotte to prepare a better marriage proposal. At the end of the scene he is with his co-worker and a band so I doubt he would have been able to organize all of this if the meeting with Charlotte had happened. He avoided the meeting with Charlotte not to avoid having to tell, but because Mary deserved a better request.
I love this scene but I'm a bit confused that after Tim met Charlotte at the theater, had a very delightful dinner with her, and walked her home. Charlotte asked him to come in (or something like that), he rejected her, flashed home, and proposed to Mary. I mean I don't get why he chose that moment? What clicked inside his mind that he turned down his first love and ran back home to propose to Mary when she's still asleep?
Other commenters don’t get it but yeah it was a stupid attempt to make the scene more romantic and more cohesive with a callback to the beginning. If my boyfriend asked me to marry him and I found out it was not even an hour after he had dinner with another girl he used to be in love with uhhhhhhh. I’d be not happy! Lol. It’s funny too because if he really wanted to be could go back in time and make it so he never even went out with the other girl, and he’d still retain the knowledge that he wants to propose ti Mary. Just a dumb thing imo. It’s only a movie, you gotta let them make mistakes.
@@dharmallars right! After the first time I watched it I couldn’t understand why. Because I would be disappointed and confused if I find out my boyfriend proposed to me right after he walked his first love home (and in the theater scene he also looked very flattered meeting her). And just after the diner, nice chatting, walking and she asked him to come in had he realizes his love for Mary? I mean he coulda realized that much sooner lol, and why were he even hesistant when she asked him to come in? Feels like he’s still not 100% sure about his feelings. Anyway that’s just me overanalyzing a movie lol. About Time is still one of my most favorite movie. Maybe i’m not mature enough to understand this scene. Or they did make a mistake.
I think like this. If you noticed, after story with Charlotte, Tim said that "even you can travel in time, you cannot make someone love you". Running home to propose Mary is reasonable reflection to check if Mary want to marry him or not. That's why he really scared when asking a lot after her hesitation "yes, no, or get out of my life". When someone want to marry you, traveling in time to change the situation of propose is redundant. Actually for me, this scence from right after dinner with his ex and going home to propose Mary is the most meaningful. Even when he can travel in time, he didnt chose to go inside ex's room, he choose to be loyal with her gf.
@@duyentaos this. He could've slept with Charlotte, gone back in time and erased the event just to get it out of his system. Which his younger self at the beginning of the movie would've done. But instead he takes a look at what should've been 'the love of his life' and realises how much much much more important Mary was. It's not that he didn't know that, it's just that the reflection on who he was cemented it. That's the way I read it.

Apart from the romance, the father son relationship was so beautifully shown

Why is she always sleeping when she gets proposed to? 😂

I always put it out there in the universe, if there are more than 2 people when you propose, you're doing it wrong! lol
Not quite as wrong as if there are FEWER than 2 people.

That's because he loves her. Because he loves her, so he is afraid of every possibility that she may reject.
