One reason I find myself very attracted to Spare's approach, and also why I agree that it ought to be distinguished from shamanism, is that it does not seem to be externally mediated or directed. He seems to have pioneered a path for the self-initiate, which brings with it groundbreaking social implications when one considers how such a path would relate to religions and religious behavior if widely followed. Even Crowley, who was supposedly all about finding one's own personal will, seems to have believed that you needed spiritual masters of some sort to find it. Spare just went and found it on his own. That's why I think anarchists tend to be attracted to chaos magick as a spiritual approach, though they frequently get disillusioned with it when they encounter the later cliquish evolutions and silly legends among the community.

Thank you for this episode on Chaos Magick. ⚡
There is so much misconception about this subject, especially within the occult community. Surprisingly I have found many physicists whom practice chaos magick, discovering how much further chaos magicians are in understanding how and why our quantum universe works. Ironically, they have to stay invisible to avoid scrutiny from their peers in the dogmatic academia.
Chaos is helpful to create transformation, sans the typical useless drama around other traditions.
Become who you are. there are no guarantees.
Sigil magick understands the true laws of how matter forms. How our attention is what creates reality.
Sigil Magick also has revealed to me just how much scientism has lost its way, with its computational lacking in ever understanding the ‘why’.
This has demonstrated why science has fallen to a torturous dogma with its brutal mechanistic consequences for humanity. CHAOS MAGICK along with O.A.Spare foundational work, Peter J Carrol
has spin warped past our outdated cosmology for some time now.
    NOTHING.
    NOTHING IS TRUE.
    EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED.
    Time has width.
Events consist only of their doing.
Put Attention back to authentic intelligence and use discretion of where you put your energy and faith and watch reality and the world morph
    instantly.
Simply, you can create a reality of anything you want it
    to be. ❤️
    quod erat demonstrandum QED

I think this factor also has a lot to do with why Chaos Magic is the way it is compared to most other forms of magic, though of course Chaos Magic is not synonymous with Spare and is not "founded" by him.

I'm fascinated by the riddler Austin Osman Spare, and wonder if for instance the sacred letters presented within 'The Logomachy of Zos' (a manuscript presented in Zos Speaks!) have been put together by someone into a coherently whole within academia, available for people within Academia who want to study his system of occultism in depth? If not there should be organized a cross academic effort where people with expertise within cryptography are hired. Since there are only 365 letters, five columns of 73 letters (and clear that the solution is based on a tetragrammaton formula), it shouldn't take experts on the field too long time to solve this mystery.

Thank you for covering AO Spare, so many have no clue who he was nor where the many systems of magick he developed came from. I do however feel he was a far better artist (his magickal painting are… wow!) than writer, but that could be the critical author in me😉. Have a lovely weekend! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️

@@epmcgee - Oh I’m sorry I was misunderstood as I love his writings & have learned so much from him many decades ago! I simply think his art (especially anything magickal he’d create) is fantastic & it’s so sad he was shunned by the art community once his magickal work was exposed. It seems most people find him confusing & Imo it’s his writing style. Just my observations & experience. Hope that cleared up any misconceptions! *edited to change “misunderstanding” duh!

@@epmcgee Maybe we shouldn't judge him, but he is really hard to read. His stream-of-consciousness writing is maddening and his grammar was atrocious. However, what tripped me up the most trying to obtain and read his work was that I had a hard time, at first, finding a copy of his works that didn't have the good parts edited out.

So this video further elaborates on the subconscious choice I made to rebrand as Chaos Shaman if you recall in your Q&A. But it involves aligning with the WingMakers I AM WE ARE.
Chaos Magick: Journeying to a non-dual state to reach your higher state.
This a perfect way to tap into the I AM and to be sure to treat yourself with the heart virtues while elevating your consciousness to manifest through the metaverse.
Shamanic Journeying: Gaining knowledge and Power from the spirit realm in order to help and heal others.
This is in alignment with the WingMakers' WE ARE of the Sovreign Integral Network and would be a great way to spread heart virtures to others.
And thus, a Chaos Shaman has spawned thanks to the WingMakers and now your display of information! For that I thank you and look forward to taking this journey with you!

Another great video Professor Puca! In regard to you mentioning Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a deity from one's unconscious to deal with an emotional vampire, I know something you may find of interest. Since about the mid 1990's there's been the development of an idea called "Pop Culture Witchcraft and Magick" where characters from pop culture stand in for the traditional deities, or are representations of concepts themselves. While not exactly a trickster in the same way as Loki , the character of Uzaki from the anime Uzaki-Chan Wants To Hang Out seems to be somewhat of a chaotic force, in that she sets out to get her upperclassmen Sakurai to loosen up and enjoy life, instead of being a loner. I've given some thought to try and evoke her, to get myself out of a bit of a depressive rut I've been in.

A great introduction. I watched Esoterica's AOS video as well. Peter Caroll links Chaos magic directly to Shamanism. But you make a interesting point of spirit realm vs inner unity. The Shaman (as a multiplicity of spiritual figures in prehistory) never had a concept of being out of unity with nature. This is more of a Daoist concept. Where disunity is a constant concern. But does it matter if it's a happy hunting ground or a Brahman? It's all mystical union. The magic is the same if I can be so bold. The barrier between worlds is thin.

I am an artist, and Spare’s practice and experience sounds very similar to some things I have also practiced. Some of which I learned from other traditions, but also in relationship to deities I made up for myself. Thank you so much for sharing, I am very interested in magical symbols and sigils. as an artist, I very much believe in the power of created images and symbols. I will be studying Spare more. I hope you will also do an episode on Hilda af Klimt. I would donate towards that specifically.

Technically, you can’t just make up an architype. You can only constellate an archetypal image from already existing contents of the psyche. These things carry an energy and direction of their own and may do things you don’t expect. This is something fiction writers often run into when one of their characters refuses to cooperate in the story. However, Intent (often referred to as Will in occult writings) begins with an image.

My only thing in it is that if you are of a visual nature and of exceptionally hyper imagination, sometimes a tree is just a tree. i would imagine the attachment of will would be key in manifestation of visualization. Otherwise, a spiritually vibrant mystery author would be an unwitting killer many times over.

    • @kimwelch4652
      @kimwelch4652 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@thehangoverlounge1439 If you talk to trees enough, you might find they talk back. The anonymous member of Evola’s UR Group, ARVO lists three laws of magic. One is the “Law of power of the imagination, formulated in these terms: When an image is realized, it becomes real-i.e., it becomes a force that tends to transfer itself to the corresponding reality" (Evola, Julius and The UR Group. Introduction to Magic: The Path of Initiatic Wisdom. Rochester : Inner Traditions, 2019. Vol. 2 p. 229). What happens in the individual mind does not always stay in the individual or the mind.

@@thehangoverlounge1439 Spare suggests that a “bat first grew wings of the proper kind by its desire [to fly] being ‘organic’ enough to reach the unconscious. If a desire to fly had been conscious, it would have had to wait until it could do so by the same means as us, i.e. machinery”

A very comprehensive and good video. I believe a lot of people are a bit baffled by the Neither-Neither in practice, and would like to point out that the 'man of sorrow/winter year' and the 'the man of pleasure/summer year' (with their half year wheel on their bellies sits on the equinoxes (aries/cancer: the cross points X of the celestial and the ecliptic, the unions between heaven and earth etc.), states of equilibrium, non dualistic states - neither this or that but the between point (my interpretation). Because many people have pointed out that you can't destroy a conception by conceiving an opposite, so it must mean withdrawing back to point zero (0=2 or 2=0).

The earth is so, so ancient. Nothing in my mind has ever doubted unique personalities that have existed long before humanity. I sometimes wonder if many spirits watch in confusion as we infantile human intellects try to figure out the mysteries of the universe from our limited vantage point. Psychology included as it relates to the spirit world.
Again, I believe specific personalities exist (angels, demons etc..) aside from any analysis from science. It needs to be done (not scholarly), felt, and more importantly incorporated into the mind/spirit for ones own unique path.
Sigils work. They prove the Divine aspect of the conscious and unconscious in human beings. God/source in miniature....Being fucked around with by many open minded people (guilty as charged)... Produces results often, a bit "off" VERY often. Might be proof of the work to be done within ourselves?

Peace and Greetings to the East
Thank you for the informative video.
May you share where I can learn more about Spare's Death Pose? I've tried to Google it and books by different authors pop up. I'd love to learn more about the Death Pose if possible.

One of the greats in the contemporary magickal scene. But still not forgiven for his references to Jung and Freud as junk and fraud.

I see a skeletal skull or face in the back ground right at the same level as your head on my right which would be your left and I see another one to my far right about the same level just a little lower and one on your right as well with a smile at the same level as your head as well

I'm really starting to find this usage of "Shamanism" confusing. Please can we use a different term?

Refuses dogmas, but stays under Zos and Kia. Because they are archetypes. But who says that archetypes, beyond divinity and names, have not something beyond them? Pure consciousness is not defined by a differentiation between two separate archetypes. Nor is existence defined by the separation between consciousness and non-consciousness. Nor is the thing defined by existence and nonexistence. Nor is the is defined by thing and non-thing. Spare scratched the surface, real Chaos Magick came after.
Edit: (Do a mind experiment, think about how archetypes or the same concept of "archetype" could differ on another planet, inhabited by another intelligent life form, that never heard about humans and their stories)

Arthur Machen may have had some experiences with him... servitors are. Probability and action..I left the typhonian oto when grant died. Zivorad miloshavic also had a relationship with nu isis which spare really did help create...spare helped solidify grants oho ability.. as a symbolist he is extremely famous now much like brion gysin... they are connected to the thee temple of psychick youth, the esoteric order of Dagon wether they want to admit it , all of the ice wars even disinformation the consortium... Stanislav Groff illustrates spares axioms well as did the process church of the final judgement 2.0 in the early to mid 90s resulting in their dissolution and prolific lawsuits.... from process/sc/ edu which functioned in every

I call her Serket, the one who shows me things, she rules Scorpio, the sexual organ, the star Antares, the Goddess of Magic and Wisdom, I "Believe Serket" she opened my ears to reverse speech, now I hear words played backwards. Sex Magic comes to mind playing the name of our planets backwards, I use "say It Backwards" if you want to follow along
Play these words backwards to hear the names of our planets in their correct order.
"Nudist, Her The Priest, Wife Of Seth, Serum, Through, New Womb, Sin Eve, Here Ra Come" in reverse "Mercury, Venus, Moon, Earth, Mars, Asteroid Belt, Jupiter, Saturn"
The wife of Seth, which is Set the god of Chaos, is the Hidden Asteroid Belt, what brings Chaos to Earth, only truth is seen in the echo to the Moon that women cycle with, and Mercury is the messenger, The conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn "The Naked Priestess"
Sex produces a child, you hear it's birth in the echo of the zodiac
"Her Mistress, Boy/Girl" will echo "Virgo, September"
Virgo the Virgin, and Latin and Greek word, 'vir' Latin for Man, 'gin' is from Greek 'gyne' Woman, Virgin Man/Woman and Virgo Boy/Girl
"Her Birth God, Heartbeat" in reverse "Libra, October"
the Scales that weights the heart
"Her Bid One, Her Mid One, Wise Folk" this will say "Scorpio, November, November"
The Mid-Wife cuts the Cord to Her Bid One
"Her Message, Say There Is A Guest" backwards "Sagittarius, December"
Scorpio the sexual organ and Sagittarius the Hips & Thighs making Ophiuchus the Womb
"She Raise Dead" will echo "Antares" the Heart of the Scorpion, the Goddess Serket whose title was "She who causes the throat to breath"
Play "Magic Rhythm" backwards "Mother Wisdom"
Is God really a Woman, or does he have a woman's voice, I think the Hebrew word is Bat-Kol, "Voice of Daughter" known as "Voice of God", the Divine Voice I hear
