Watched this (all four parts) again last night and felt so blessed that, thanks to you Roger, we can watch this show on TH-cam. These postings of Gene singing live are so few and far between now. I treasure each and every one of them. I saw Gene perform live in the late sixties and so wish I had seen him again.
Saw Gene Pitney a few times in the 60s when he became very popular in the Uk. He was so good live, he didn't need to lip sync. Fantastic singer. Thanks for the memories from my youth Gene.
I remember seeing Gene in concert for the very first time in the mid 60s and I was blown away. His voice on this footage reminds me of that fantastic concert, which took place at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and I saw him many times afterwards. By a sad coincidence, the last time I saw him was at that same theatre, a year or so before he passed. A great loss.
His voice never faded in the same way as some. I've seen footage from the 60s and it's fab, however I was his tour manager in the 2000s and he was a force to be reckoned with. I'm too young to remember him first time round but was honoured to work with him, what a gent. Still miss you, boss. x
Never thought to look up Gene on here before - how stupid. His songs are so emotional and I when I do to Cardiff, which I do quite often, I get off the bus outside the hotel where he died and it always makes me think of him. Saw him a few times in the 70's.
Saw Gene Pitney in 1984. Going in, I was afraid that I'd discover that Gene was a creation of the recording studio. No. Live, his voice was MORE impressive than on record.
His voice sounds like they do in his records as opposed to when he was older. I have to agree with Roger Farestveit this is when Gene's voice was at it's best. I think that holds true with other singers.

Thankyou Roger for this gem. There was no one like Pitney. He stood alone.
A very fine talent indeed.
A serious gem - awesome to see one of the true greats in a rare, well-produced show.
