  • My review of the Darche Urban Stealth LT-1 Hiking Tent.
I bought this tent from WildEarth in Australia, for intended use as a small, light weight tent that I can take flying with me. Because I'm flying small ultralight aircraft, I need to be considerate of the weight being carried at at around 1.5kg this tent is actually lighter than both my sleeping mat and my sleeping bag.

Great review mate you answered every question I had about it. Also love the ute cant believe you were lucky enough to land those plates.

Thanks! After using it, it does build up condensation if you're a heavy breather, I'm going to setup an extraction fan to try and reduce it, as well as get some dessicant bags but I'm sure I won't eliminate it. It's inevitable in such a small tent.
And yeah, I love my ute. In NSW we pay a premium each year to display custom plates, so they're not quite as common as in other states. I was pretty stoked when I found out they were available.

Great review, she's definitely a warm weather tent with the lack of closing off doors and openings that you mentioned.
I have also read other reviews mentioning using hiking poles instead of the provided poles, as they extend further they may be better for tightness. Cheers mate.

LifePrep Outdoors I might have to look into that. I haven’t used it since it’s first outing. I think simply by adding a couple of tie points instead of needing to open the flap would probably solve the issue.
The only other tissue I had was condensation. It wasn’t terribly cold where I was using it but wow it had some serious condensation inside. Need to research how to reduce that in the future.

Nice review mate! I'm torn between this and the Darche Phantom LT-1, mainly because of the nylon material and 1kg weight. Nice idea using with the plane also, hopefully soon I'll be able to throw mine in the Motorglider for a trip.

Thanks! It was my first go at it, and I did one because I couldn’t find one online. I really do like the look of their biker swag, but a tent I fee just gives a little more room to move around and means I’m not trying to also shove a bag of gear into the somewhat small sleeping compartment. The whole purpose of the tent is to take away bush flying, so needs to be small to pack up and light to transport.

Can you use a couple of wine bottle corks for those poles on the base? Just drill outthe centre and slip them over as feet

I think they'd still end up burying themselves in the ground. What it really needs is a small flat plate or something for it to sit into. Maybe a job for my 3D printer.

Pretty much agree with everything here. It's a good tent, but it needs some very small tweaks to be a great one!

It’s withstood the test of time so that’s a plus.

Don't lie dude ! You bought it because it was black .

The black colour. That would increase the heat absorbtion, wouldn't it? Especially when you pitch it in the open with not much shade around.

It does, but how long are you really in the tent anyway?
