Bro, this is beyond ridiculous! Godamn, the owner of the company!!! It’s so cool to see good things happening to good people. Congrats on all your success and new sick bike😎👍
Finally the bikes dropped the crooked top tube and look really awesome.. Colour is top notch was well! Those welds above the bottom bracket look "stable" :D
Shoutout to Knolly for keeping the same hardware standards for everything aside from the lower shock hardware (at least from what I can tell). Will make swapping over to the new generation frame really simple when I've saved up enough to do so!
This is truly a deep dive into bike construction and design! I love the beautiful bike shop setting at Kinetik Cycles in Coquitlam! The new Chilcotin is gorgeous, strong and beautifully engineered. I can't wait to see more of the magic that @VanCan will do with it! @KnollyBikes
Thank you so much for the detailed video. It’s great to better understand the sixth generation advancements. Noel’s passion for bike building and commitment to quality engineering shines through! Good luck with the new generation of bikes!
You know these bikes are tough if Nick can’t break them😂Im hopeful for a E bike someday, at 56 years young getting tough to pedal up those hills. Really enjoy this format of video. Amazing job of explaining his bikes and great build!!
Every time Knolly updates their bikes, I get a little annoyed. Not because of the updates, since I like their attitude towards updates and changes, but rather because I keep looking over at my 2017 Warden and that thing just won't fail. My only real criticisms about the 2017 bikes were that the standover was quite high and the stack a bit low... and these new bikes do fix that but it just isn't possible to justify the upgrade for myself. I enjoy these videos with Noel. Great camera work and wonderful conversation make for a top tier morning video. Keep it up!
It would be fascinating to see a video where you actually go over the differences and compare a high-end frame to a lower-end frame of the same material. The difference in quality should be quite substantial to justify the huge price differences between bikes with comparable specs, but where one costs thousands more than the other.
The differences aren't substantial though ... I have a Pivot and the differences are in the quality of carbon, the tighter tolerances and layup process. Not something that's very noticable and would be pretty difficult to make a video longer than 2 minutes about it ... Unless he got really micro and got into their manufacturing process, from raw material to finished product. Not sure where Knolly manufactures their frames but might require a trip to Asia too ... That would be sick though, agree with you there!!
Very nice bike, nice video overall, loved the engineer and the details :D absolutely hated the look of the previous version, really like this one :D and I own 2 carbon bikes 😂
First thing I would do, before building the bike, especially on Knolly frames, would be to check alignment of rear shock mounts! Unmount the two bolts on Trunnion mount and look for sideload on rear shock. It will damage your shock (inner shaft) overtime...let us know the result
I thought for sure you would end up on a Structure Cycleworks SCW-1 eventually after your review. I have been on two (a preproduction one since 2020 and a production one since 2022) and every once in a while I will ride someone's bike with a telescopic fork (Any telescopic fork) and I am Always amazed at how Bad they are. I have switched to a DVO JADE X out back and it really balances out the suspension. Enjoy your new build. New Bike Day is Always the Best Day of The Year. 🤘🏻
After they ripped off Dave Weagle’s intellectual property (Split-Pivot) not much of a fan…. As an Ex small frame builder I’ve no tolerance for huge companies screwing the little guy. Ironically they probably spent more on lawyers than if they would just liscenced it like other users. Bully !
I ride the new slash and it’s great I don’t get why trek has so many haters. I also work at a trek dealer and they are really great to small businesses.
I find pressfit conversations so funny. Maybe I’m just lucky but I’ve never had any issues with pressfit. Using special tools or a hammer and a wooden block. I feel like ppl overthink working on carbon bikes. I do agree that threaded is better, although I’ve had threaded bbs over torqued from the shop.
@@docmccoy9813 ahh I see what you were getting at. I just meant VanCan does not seem like he would really care about keeping track of numbers as far as weight goes but maybe so. As for full 29" bikes....I imagine you're correct but I wouldn't know because I don't ride em either LOL
Check out more info on the new Chilcotin here! bit.ly/Knolly-Chilcotin-170
Everyone anxiously awaiting Nics New bike video after he's been teasing it on instagram.
@vancan what do you think should I put a 1 degree angleset on my warden?

Nic leaves a bike company designer/engineer/owner to hold something.

3 decades later…Nic finally frees the man from captivity.

Having a mechanic explain stuff is really really cool! Great video bro! Thanks for posting!
Also when the Mechanic is the company owner and designed the bike
So are we calling company owners mechanics now?
So cool to hear about this Knolly and see it being built by “Mr Knolly” Obviously a man that knows bikes and pays attention to every detail!
That was a very well done video. You can tell that man loves his craft! I love knollys uniqueness.

Kudos to you for doing this. It was interesting to listen to.
Knolly bikes have street cred.
Super chill conversation and incredible valuable info about a lot of subjects being laid down in the most casual way. Congrats on the video!
Any company that makes a bike that Nic can't break has my respect.

The perfect way to lunch a new bike, good job Knolly and Nic! :)
Awesome build with the brand owner. Great to see. Can't wait for the first ride impressions.
Awesome footage man, love the vids, very underrated. I would love to see you and Jordan Boostmaster ride more!
Love these bikes. They look like tanks perfect for those trails that you're smashing through.
Very nice variety in content, hugely informative guest.
The "Whoops" portion is the icing on the cake.

Love the new design! I've been keen on buying a bike from a company that specializes in alloy frames, and Knolly has always been high on my list.
Beautiful bike, colour, and how cool having Knolly there to build it with you
That bike looks so good, it has to ride good as well! ❤
Awesome build, really impressed with Knolly and would not have known about them without your channel. Noel seems very cool!
Never been more stoked to own a knolly!
Man this is awesome! Rarely would you ever get the chance to chat to the engineer who designed the bike. Gonna watch the whole thing later tonight
Waiting for the Warden to drop. It'll be between that and the shorter travel Chilcotin.
Shame that sweet colour isn't available, however.
I think a Knolly is in my future. Fantastic looking bikes
7:00 in the 90s the rumour was that biopace rings blew out your knees, 30 years later and it's back!
But it’s the ovalisation is the opposite way around to what it was back then.
The color is sick. Good choice!
I would love one but live in UK and taxes would kill the purchase!

And that super slack seattube!! I went with a v2 warden and what a difference it was!!! Everything was just sooo much better!
Slick looking bike Nic! Dale is going to have colour envy lol!

A bike that you can work on is just great!
Wow, great shooting Steve 👍🏻

Finally LESS swoopy... I like it.
Maybe I missed it in the video, but what frame size are you running?
I"m 6ft and riding a large
Great content. I really enjoyed it.
awesome camera quality
this was a great video thanks 🤙

Aluminum rules . Well done KNOLLY

I really want a Knolly Warden! Great, tough awesome FS for the price!!!
Todd Bates
This makes me want to buy the new Chilcotin
"the 5' 10 1/2 person" bro came at me. 😂
Where can we get the pink version??
Pink>any other bike colour
Word!
Awesome bike build lovet
beautiful!! .... sooo.... can I borrow your old frame this season? :D :D
Great video
Love everything so far but not quick release I am a torque wrench guy lol
i would love to see knolly make a hardcore aluminum hartail like the banshee morphine
Steel or Ti for hardtails any day, alloy isn't compliant enough, and the vibrations lead to fatigue.
I’d rather ride an old Knolly than a brand new Trek
The new treks are awesome bikes. I have a carbon fuel ex and it absolutely rips. Super reliable too
@@Ant_carrTrek did a great job with the new fuel!

I am convinced that a 220f/200 or 203r is the only way to go with a braking setup.
What’s the rear wheel spacing 12x147 ?
12x157 super boost
Holy shit this is awesome.
who owns the google phone close to the camera? checked my phone like 4 times for no reason... great vid though, love knolly bikes!
Nice.
Do you sell your old bikes?
What a nice guy:) well both pf them
We're all pink on the inside.
Thank god they reshaped the top tube and down tube

A Medium size is as big or bigger than an XL version of my 2019 Devinci Troy.
knolly in carbon?
40lb bike??

Extremely long reach eh?
very sick bike men, but change that stem please, it so ugly:(
Not proud of the weight, I guess.
Medium stock bike weighs 34.5 lbs. similar to most carbon builds these days.
Probably more like, he doesn't care about it. Not everybody is a weight weenie
@@trillbill9378 Lol. So the expensive titanium cranks and stem are just for the looks? Admit it, 29rs are trucks.
