Great setup, and great choice of test track - I get goosebumps just listening on my laptop speakers!

awesome system, congrats on the new room! By the way, I couldn't find a pair of 801D so I settled on a pair of JBL S4700s. They have 15" woofers too! But the bass is not as mighty as the 801s. I will also upgrade the amp in the future as well.

Hello my friend how you doing?
Long time no see you!! Do remember you from SHF and from my other profile (audiophilemetallian) when "playing" 801D in the earlier vids at previous room. Feel free to subscribe this channel, will always update here ;)
BTW congrats on your new speakers!! I´ve read about this new model and It´s a great option nowadays for BIG speakers, think It´s a great deal when we look at their flagship which is much expensive.

Great Room, Some people doen´t realize that to extract more than 50% of a High end system the have to give it the proper conditions to perform. Your on the good track Room first ;)
Now the amps, I once had a pair of 801´s I tried Krell 750 / Accuphase A-60 / Burmester Kube / CAM 400 but, the only amps that could really move those woofers were a pair of Manley Snaper monos's ;) You should give them a listen in your room you might be shocked !!

    Hi
thanks for your comment!! What pair of 801 have you had ? D, N or M? Also what cables have matched well your system?
I´m trying most I can. Currently I´m testing MIT Oracle cables, in few days hope to try a complete set of Siltech. From what I heard Empress Crown fitted very well (but didnt get their spkr cable yet). MITs arent bad but for that price I shall test others.

I think cables are still very important but there´s a limit for your system. I was using shunyata anaconda IC, Siltech and Transparent Reference Spkr, after switching to MIT oracle cables the sound has exploded terrificaly, and finally got the bass that was totally missing with same electronics. But this whole set didnt cost more than USD15K difference of the previous (Shunyata, Transparent and siltech set)
So, cables will depend the spkrs and electronics involved.

Your totally right when you say "cables will depend the spkrs and electronics involved" BUT your wrong when you say "There is a limit to it" The better the cable, better the result !! Been there done that ;)
    Cheers

Could you describe each cable you have used together (IC, power and Spkr) and matched with your N801?

I had the N version. Cables I've tried a few ... MIT M3 / MIT Magnum MA / Oracle V3 / Nordost Vahlalla / Transparent Reference XL and my actual Kimber Select 3038 (in my opinion these last sounded better than all the rest), In most cases it was a matter of taste. The real bargain was the Transparent Reference XL Better than MIT and for a fraction of the price ;)
If you wanna improve Image and get a better sound stage with improved micro/macro dynamics try this inexpensive trick, elevate all ..

Thank you my friend!!! As It was the first one didnt get the chance to grab my Pana FZ150 and mic. But for an Iphone recording It sounds great :)
    More vids will come!!

I could but that could induct you on error, cables are very electronic Dependant. What I can tell you about your setup is that I got better results with the Kimber Select 3038 than I had with any MIT / Transparent or Nordost. In my opinion you should realy listen to a pair of Manley Snapper's instead of the Krell's they are TRULY the right Amp for those speakers. Try this; Put a record to play and push the volume up, see if your woofers move more than 5cm with mid bass with your Krell's ... ;)

Dude, Every element counts on a High end System, cables are one of them, but, if your speakers have a poor match with the room or the power amp you can buy a $1000000 cable that you will never extract music out of them... ;)

Nice speakers. But if you want to put your music listening experience to another level (4 dimensional word) like hyperspace you need a power cord upgrade. Apply them on your amps and DAC's. Check out Coconut-audio as they got the best stuff.
