Snow is not on his em. That dude was spittin, was in jail for attempted double homicide when he write it. He grew up in a predominantly Jamaican town in Toronto .
Where do you guys get your information? Snow was a Jackass white thug wannaba from Flemingdon Park,in Toronto. Mostly a white, Muslim low rent area. He did well and like an idiot he ended up in jail and that was it for him. Nothing to see there but an idiot
OK first of all Teena Marie is the shit I grew up, listening to her. She’s from my time and she was everything back in the day and I was obsessed with her! Secondly, the beastie boys fit in in fact, you may not know this, but the beastie boys actually discovered LL Cool J.
You should react to some Beastie Boys. Those guys are rap legends. In the hall of fame and everything. They even helped get some other rappers like LL Cool J signed.
AND they helped my favorite Rap Group, Public Enemy as well; both LL and Chuck D inducted the Beastie Boys into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as thanks
I am a longhair metalhead "white boy", and have been in the hardest parts of Madison (which you can laugh at), Milwaukee, Chicago, and St. Louis; and everyone liked me because I was me. 🤷♂️
You are one of the best quick, insighful, tuned in, deep reactors, highly experienced and aware of music & culture. I'm 61 years old and you're definitely one of my faves as of today 😎👍 I hope you keep on doing reaction videos, you'll just keep getting better? SUBSCRIBED This is more than entertainment from you, this spontaneous, informed, feelin it, quality insight is well worth time spent watching.
Bobby Coldwell. Yeah I'm 54 and white, to this day I had NO IDEA. I grew up listening to a lot of black artists, one could argue I favor them as singers, worshipped the ground Stevie Wonder walked on, Philip Bailey is a musical god to me, and my favorite producer is Quincy. But I really thought Bobby Coldwell was white. Probably because I didn't necessarily single him out as an artist I listened to, he was just part of it.
Same here. I'm 57 and I've been listening to this song pretty much since I was a child and I just found this out. I love this song! It was and still is played on black stations.
One of the realist reactions. Agreed that Michael Jackson one at the end was messed up haha but I hope you've had a chance to brush up on Beastie Boys. They held their ground for decades. Great video, man.
5:19 the Beastie boys started making music I want to say 1986. Hip-hop was in its infancy. Imagine a mainstream movie without any hip-hop and it today. But if you watch the movie in nineteen eighty-three it was almost a guarantee that was no hip Hop. So they were one of the founders of what we know today is rap music. And therefore if you were into hip-hop you were into the Beastie boys they are one of the pillars upon which the entire thing is built
@@ricomontoya1562 First group to take Rap international. There had been chart successes before, but they were treated more as a novelty, a one-hit wonder. The Beasties were a touring band who played big venues, not just in clubs in the 'hood, and put out albums, not just singles. In many ways, they kicked open the door for Rap as a Genre to become what it is today.
There are always crossovers. I believe that there is not a certain genre anymore. For example, they say Chris Stapleton is Country, He is not. He is straight blues.
The Beastie boys were all from New York and Jewish... My sisters and brothers... Music isn't black, white, yellow or brown... music is for everyone, of every race, creed and colour. Music is outernational... King Yellowman.
AWB shocked me when I saw they were white. That was before I heard they were also called Average White Band. But 'School boy crush' was a damn groove. Matter of fact, I am going to play it right now.
They forgot to put wild cherry play that funky music a lot of vloggers said that when they heard that song for the first time they thought it was sang by a black person
Beastie boys paved the way for eminem. They started as a punk band and later became hiphop with mixmastermike as the dj. So they started in the 80’s, so they are even OG’s to hiphop in general. There lyrics was so good.
I've been around quite a few bad neighbourhoods in the UK. Nobody ever bothered me, white/black/brown and everything in between. Everyone avoids me on the streets (maybe because I always walk fast, decisive and have a mean look on my face, I can't help it I have a permanent frown). Even charity people turn around and act like it's raining when I walk by.... it's quite amazing to see :))).
As far as the "White boys" fitting in, it's all about their attitude. When you are chill and give people respect, you tend to be accepted. I was hoping for a Michael Jackson joke in there and it didn’t disappoint. But what I expected was just songs from The Bee Gees, Michael Mac Donald and Tony Rich. I didn’t expect any rap at all. Kind of surprised they didn’t use Celph Titled or Vinny Paz, or El-P or Andy Mineo tho. Apart from Bubba Sparxx the rest are pretty obvious on the rap side. Maybe could add House of Pain or 3rd Bass.

Did they not see him when he was a kid with his brothers? In The Wiz?
Given the rules of the current era - He felt White. Therefore, he is white.
I literally LOL'd!
Lol he used to be a little darker when he was younger they must’ve forgotten
I never thought the Beastie Boys were black. I don't think many black people thought the Beastie Boys were black.....😂😂😂

Yeah he was in for something else, and had some petty crimes, but the double homicide was a frame-up.

Being in a murder bid is so black "cringe"
Snow was actually a lot more gangsta than people think. He put in hard time
Yeah he's from a Jamaican neighborhood so that sound is just what he grew up around.
yup... he basically erased vanilla ice back when he came on the scene
And they let him sing in prison.

Jesus Christ is Lord and King and Our Savior!!
I'm disappointed that Rick Astley (Never Gonna Give You Up) wasn't on this list.
Or anything by UB40 . Ok they were a group with white and black guys in it , but the lead singer , Ali Campbell is white .
They missed Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry & Staying Alive by the Bee Gees
Righteous Brothers, Tom Jones and Tony Joe White.
Gerio I just enjoyed watching you seeing the videos for the first time!!!

@Gerio "so what'cha want" "sabatage" and "intergalactic" are some other good and popular ones you've might have heard
i just feel like michael jackson shouldn't count as no matter what he was a black man
Look up buddy Holly, the people who signed him up to perform at the Apollo thought he was black
You are so knowledgeable of older music, you have to be the best reaction video person out there

@gchampi2 that's like saying ub40 created or kicked in the door reggae and dance hall. It was established way before the beastie boys appeared.

There are a lot of white Tina's, a lot of times it's Tina Marie. The Beasties Boys are one of the best rap/hip hop groups of all time.
I think MJ would be upset being included on this.
Ngl bubba through the distortion of your speaker then to my headphones sounded like ludacris
Edit: they did MJ dirty😂
Rest In Peace Bobby Caldwell🕊
