The West Side Elevated Highway was a highway that ran along the tip of Manhattan until the 1970s when it was closed and later removed. It has been turned into a boulevard, with a beautiful waterfront park next to it. Today, we will visit it and see what it has been like since the removal of the highway.

It's a nice parkway now and a vast improvement over what was there before. I'm old enough to actually see the old West Side Express Highway after it was shut down during a junior high (middle) school class field trip to visit the United Nations.
