Respect his opinion and give them both different responsibilities. Good, good young men and very knowledgeable and hard working. Keep them close and love on them while you can.

Perhaps in the near future one of the boys should move into the cabin. They need space. The big house is bigger than it used to be BUT the boys are still sharing the same room. Another person brought up that when the oldest boy was down because of his motorcycle accident and then his younger brother took over for him and now he's having to switch back and that would be hard for anybody to have to deal with. Getting them to do chores separately is an excellent idea. They still need more space. A side note I really think it kind of seems annoying for the boys to have you constantly mentioning how they're bickering with each other. We know and they know, maybe that should be a taboo topic for a while. When things smooth over will all be able to see it.
The closer to age the more they will fight. Can tell you from experince, my brother and I were a year apart and we used to be vicious. Miss those days.
My two oldest are boys 26mos apart..they used to fight and wrestle and scrap non stop from the time they were little. Oldest picked on younger and we warned him over and over that one day his younger brother might be bigger than him and that came true. I have 5 boys and the older always bullied the one under him. But now they’re grown my two oldest are amazing friends. And all my boys are grown they all,get along and are great friends. I pray they always remain friends until old age.
I remember that age and how my brother and I bickered over every little thing imaginable…it’s that teen phase and will pass…Jonah and Josiah some time apart during the day to allow them each to be independent and free to make their own decisions is a good remedy..they both are such intelligent hard working young men! And I know as they get older they will have an unbreakable bond. ❤❤

Just a thought, maybe you can talk with Jonah and let him know, he is Not Josiah's boss, that he is his brother and to stop bossing him! I agree. And I've seen for years that Lily and Gideon are the only ones who speak with respect to Justin. The others talk down to him or seem burned out. I'm not really sure they appreciate their new house. No matter what, Justin has a positive outlook but there's no coming together like I see on other homesteads
To be fair he is the boss because momma dearest is always in bed or trying some new wacked out thing. While Justin enjoys causing more issues by always bringing it up for views, The kids are work mules and nothing else.
My best friend’s four sons practically demolished the house when teenagers. All doors off hinges or dented, including kitchen cabinet and car doors. Neighbours’ boundary farm hedges holed in the middle of the night 3, cars left for days in the ditches. Different fortune hunting girls every night, or a vicar’s daughter. She almost lost her mind. So refreshing to see such well mannered young men in comparison navigating their relationship skills. 😊 Lovely house, btw.
I totally understand not wanting to be bossed around by an oldest sibling. Oldest kids can feel entitled to leadership, and struggle when they don't get their own way. Younger kids know they have to earn a leadership position. Good for Josiah, for standing up for himself.

As a younger brother. The older brothers wanna lead they feel sense of wanting to teach because they have more experience. But there’s also a lot of beautiful attributes to being second born and being able to learn from them.
1 of 8 kids here with 4 older bros (all a year apart) we never had our own bedrooms. We fought hard and loved hard. They are my best friends to this day. It’ll all work itself out. Just gotta teach them and remind them they are on the same team. Gideon will probably one day lead both of them. lol
We have two girls 5years apart. We are dealing with some of the same issues with the older child bossing around the younger child. It is a hard habit to break. But you two are amazing parents and I know you guys will help guide them back to being the best of friends here soon. And in the meanwhile you and Rebecca get to have some one on one time with them. It’s a win win

I suspect Josiah isn't as comfortable on-camera as the other kids. I know if my parent was running around with a camera to film our family dynamics I'd be trying to meld into the background as much as possible. It might be worth having a conversation with him to make sure there isn't a seed of resentment being planted with the vlog process that ultimately creates a rift as he moves into adulthood.

I suspect Josiah isn't as comfortable on-camera as the other kids. I know if my parent was running around with a camera to film our family dynamics I'd be trying to meld into the background as much as possible. It might be worth having a conversation with him to make sure there isn't a seed of resentment being planted with the vlog process that ultimately creates a rift as he moves into adulthood.
