I usually dislike using this term, but Monster Hunter Stories quickly became an addictive comfort game. While I never found myself particularly compelled by the narrative, the charming cast and genuinely grim implications give the world layers of prospective intrigue to peruse. The added voice acting and enhanced presentation do wonders for this 3DS outing.
Plus, the monster acquisition and equipment retrievals ensured satisfying progression, even if the sheer simplicity of it all made some matters a tad too monotonous. Regardless of whether you've been sold on mainline Monster Hunter, this spinoff boasts more than enough of its own identity to give it a shot, especially if you've been craving a quality turn-based adventure.

Is crazy to think how a what 7+ year old 3DS game can rival if not straight up exceed a titanic franchise like pokemon to this day pretty sad actually but it also shows you what real care and quality is all about I'm not the biggest capcom fan but they get my respect here
@@kidrobot.an Indie game made by a small team definitely exceeded Pokemon. No lolno here for you
LoL
@@kidrobot. MH stories is better than Pokémon S/V. Those game were awful.
Pokémon Unbound, Insurgence, Gaia and Reborn are all better than any Pokémon game released officially in the last 10 years.
This is great but i just think MH Stories 2 is better in every way. I’ll probably grab this and run through it again though.
Oh and if you are new to the series just know it’s a lot like Pokémon but imagine instead of being static that GameFreak had actually been evolving and improving the series all this time. This really should be more popular than Pokémon because it does it better in every way
I'm looking forward to this game. I enjoyed what I played on the 3DS
Thanks for the review. With it coming out on stream, may have finally pick this up, just too tempting.
I’m definitely getting this again, but it better have those GameStop exclusive preorder monsters in there.
Imagine still shopping at GameStop
Stories 2 is just better in every way, if you have 2 you can easily skip this one.
That being said, I can appreciate that they ported this 3DS game to PC regardless; and the additional voice acting is overall good.
So if I have time to play only one, should it be the first or second one?
Second
Definitely picking this up physically for my collection!loved this on 3ds! Wonder if it still had Amiibo support... I own all of the amiibos for the 3ds version. They were exclusive to Japan so I imported them years ago.
Does this release support amiibo?
@@Kraken54321 not sure. I will let u know when I pick up my copy later on today.
The switch version definitely does. The others probably just unlock the stuff with a code or ….paid dlc 🤮
I hope they release part 3 if possible
Finally! thank you for the review👍
Sad there's no physical release for PS4 in Asia
Had to import a Japanese copy for switch. Already own the 2nd game physically and for the west, they're only selling a two pack of 1&2. So had to hit up playasia for just a copy of the 1st game
If it's a "good" remaster of an overall great game, then I'm all in.
They were smart adding voice acting. The lack of english VO (or just bad ones) is one of the biggest barriers of entry to western audiences into less famous JRPGs.
really? that's a petty excuse
Aye Sega how bout u port persona q collection on with dub too , and other 3ds games people ignored cuz not on muh switch . Great way to keep fans feed so they won’t be tempted be Japanese girl
the 3ds was out way before the switch so that's not a legit excuse
Sorry if I missed this, but what version/platform are you playing on? What’s your fps?
The video showed it was reviewed on PS4
Wait you can collect Poogies? I'm buying 5 copies of this game
Why the blight gotta be black, huh?
What color do you want it to be, rainbow colored? Use your head.
Im so annoyed it isn't on Xbox I've always wanted to play it 😭
Xbox is dead thats why
