I think I saw in an interview that he lost his dog in 2020, which was also a very tough year for him, having to deal with COVID matters at the same time while dealing with personal pain . Respect to this guy!
All the best to LW. Very humble person, ready to serve the country. God bless him and give him wisdom and discernment to govern well.
He is always Very tactful and professional in good speech. Humble as well. Respectable. Best candidate. God bless him 🎉
Singapore is such an amazing country. A true model for Asia 🌏
Indeed , They’ve even managed to Redefine & Change the Race of a Living Adult Indian to Malay just in time to Win Scandalous PE17 Uncontested… All this when Anthropologists still struggling to Agree on Definition of Race … A truly remarkable achievement 😂🎉❤
because their politicians truly work for the people
Loves his Speech.
Clear n Healing.
God bless Singapura.... love from NZL.
I have started to have a bit of faith in you now to lead us forward after watching this interview video just now to understand you better. I like your smile and speeches (it's good that I can finally listen to your chinese and malay speeches alr today rather than solely english during the 'Ready to Lead' programme!) so far and wish you all the best for your leadership transition tomorrow!
Mr Wong and his family have sacrificed their personal life in serving the nation. He likely the last to leave the office as he likely to stay back to assist his successor just like previous 3 PM did. Life is fated and work strangely. If its yours, its yours. If its not your calling, no matter how hard you try it wont work. Its great to see he selected 2 experienced deputies to assist him. Btw just read local article on National fencing champion Puah Zee Cher have to ownself sponsor for overseas competition by doing odd jobs such as dish washing, waitering. He did not qualify for govt. funding cos of his low rank. He has to work to secure own funding instead of resting for competion. How come there is no case by case by the relevant officials ? Try to put yourself in the shoes of these aspiring young men and women and dont shut the door tight for anyone to get in. Not everyone earns more than $ 4 k a month. Cultivate empathy, that will help you to make wiser decision. Search for dark horses from unlikely places. No one notice his talents or just keep quiet about it ??? Walk the ground. Very happy to read the reporter report his aspiring story instead of sweeping under the carpet. Hope the govt take charge and refine the system.
Wow! The whole world acknowledges that PAP is the only competent and responsible party in s'pore, as evident in the numerous global achievements and recognitions it has attained for the country.❤❤

Their transition plan & handing over of leadership should be emulated by other countries.

Such secret votings probably similar to one of a beauty contest psychology whereby the person voting will also guess and consider who the rest will vote and they will try to play safe, just in case.
Great choice
I'm glad that our PM can speak the mother tongue just like ex-PM Lee. Many Singaporeans being primarily schooled in English now regard Chinese with quite a little bit of disdain. The predominant use of English unavoidably influences our point of view to become more aligned with that of the Anglo-Saxon world.
We're also easy target of western media propaganda not least of all that of our own CNA which very apparently is infiltrated by NED/CIA and staffed with many journalists from countries like the Philippines or India who are similarly indoctrinated to toe the western line.
Some Singaporeans even take pride in speaking Chinese haltingly as if this is a mark of social progress. Fact is the overwhelming majority don't speak English well either:
Can't speak mother tongue properly + Can't speak English well = Good for nothing
Good for nothing + Pretend to be perfectly in tune with all things Christian and Anglo-Saxon = KEH ANGMOH
is waran where
Ownself govern ownself lah...
3:01 "The outcome of the progress", let's hope Singapore's progress brings an outcome honestly through you, Mr Wong. Senior Minister can be laid to rest.
Leong Mun Wai responds to ‘confrontational’ label: Pursuing answers is a Parliamentarian’s duty
@martinbrock713 PSP Non-Constituency MP Leong Mun Wai has been issued an order under Singapore's fake news law to carry a correction to a Facebook post he made about a couple who purportedly needed financial assistance for their health problems, but had been overlooked by Govt agencies.
Lawrence Wong is the least polarising of the 4th generation of leaders. Same with his two deputies, solid and dependable people.
Singapore does not care for populists or colourful characters as leaders. The more unspectacular, the better.
If any of those ex-armed forces generals had become the PM and DPMs, the ruling junta would have lost credibility.
“If you think that every time, I pursue a minister for a definitive answer and every time I answer the speaker in order to get an opportunity to talk Leong Mun Wai
@martinbrock713 Mr. Leong claimed in his post on Feb 12 that other than a Home Caregiving Grant - a monthly Govt grant given to caregivers to help ease their financial burden - the couple were not receiving any financial assistance from public sector agencies for their daily expenses.
All tis nobody want to know lah eh??we want to know wat r u going to do to make our life better only for singaporeans tats all..
Too tame. Kuan Yew once mentioned that, whoever that lead Singapore must have some iron in him. I dont see no iron in Singapore's leaders anymore
Not sure if our definition of "having iron" are similar, but my thoughts are that someone that has "some iron in him/her" might not be selected by the peers (or even voters) in this era.
I guess Singaporeans in this era are totally different from 1965-2000. After WW2, we desperately in need of a leader that "have iron" to steer the country out of turmoil asap.
Nowadays, everyone is highly educated, people want to be more participative and their views to be heard, and this warrants the emergence of a more receptive and open kind of leader. This is not a bad thing but I thought there should be some balance between both.
This reminds me of in the olden days, "parents are really parents" whereas nowadays, "parents are more like friends"...
But he has aluminum, tungsten, titanium, silver and gold. These metals are more useful in this era than just iron.
@@hanyenchan Figure of speech. Meaning you need to be someone strong. Aluminium tungsten gold silver u mention, i dont see this fella has any of those whether for real or figure of speech. Time will tell if I am right. Im sure im 100% right
158th media should ask Wong directly, so who are the 4 ministers ,office holders who did support him?
But then what would you expect of the 158th media!😆😆😆
Obviously nepotism
Wait a minute! Look at your 4G selection. All the senior posts are those above 60 years old. I supposed now the adult age is from/45 to 70 years old. What happened to the 4G leaders that they spoke of?
Not even Lawrence Wong thought he would be PM as everyone thought CCS being the PAP Deputy Gen-Sec was the 2nd choice. But Lawrence Wong had the confidence of most of his peers with his ability to steer SG through the crisis. His calm and collected leadership with a strong touch of empathy drew people to him while CCS' abrasive manner rubbed people the wrong way.

PAP MPs at large did not choose LW, therefore Singaporeans did not choose him. Do not trust PAP. Do not vote PAP. Make LW a one term PM. Make LW the Liz Truss of Singapore.
@xianlonglee-ty6qe LW has just said that he was chosen by the PAP MPs to lead them. So why are you still in denial. All voters must trust the PAP. VOTE PAP in the coming elections to show that xianlonglee is spewing rubbish.
