i neither read nor like homestuck, however tumblr wouldn't shut up about it today, so i took a look at their latest update, and i saw this. do i know who is on what side? no. do i know what the sides are? no. all i know is that it's been going on for years and had a glorious-looking 5 minute animation. so congrats, it's got my interest with making me wonder what brought it to this spot.
Eeehh... honestly at that point I'm used to people dying left and right. For me, the Red Wedding of Homestuck was the moment when Dave made Gamzee discover ICP.
Don't forget that John's zappy powers let him alter the main timeline without making it doomed. That being said, no character is safe as long as Hussie lives.

I'm afraid we don't have any seers of doom here, so the first option is unlikely. It's not like the death of any of these characters really matters anyway.
But it may be terezi's vision. It may be showing a possible outcome of a decision, such as the coin flip between her and vriska showing the possible deaths of everyone if vriska fought jack. So this could be her vision stemming from a outcome of a decision or choice.

Pretty sure this is a doomed timeline. Think about this: Aranea said she could heal doomed timelines, and her plan was to doom a timeline so LE can't come to the Universe, then make the timeline the Alpha Timeline, because she said she can heal timelines, so, when it becomes the Alpha Timeline, LE can't come there, and thus, can't go to any other timelines. What I think will happen, is the remaining characters will attempt to stop Aranea before they each die, or maybe John will change what happens(the latter is less likely, as it would require Andrew to edit the comic, and erase several pages).
It's still viable actually. John rewrote the entire conversation with Dave and Jade by jumping in. Dave even said that something meaningful was meant to happen but John changed it but it didn't doom the timeline. He can literally just post and edited version of the page. and just like that, all our problems will be gone.
Gamzee is probably gonna stand up, put his halves together, and start murdering all the survivors. (And now my new favorite thing to do when I'm asked to fold paper in half I ask if they mean Eridan style or Gamzee style and watch their confusion while my friends crack up.)

The ending of this flash actually made me feel some sort of empathy for Caliborn; that look of pure and innocent confusion at having actually encountered someone who truly hates him and being powerless to stop them. All from a mentally stunted child whose only real crime so far had been killing his sister (something he may or may not have been biologically meant to do!) and drawing some crappy fanart. I'm still hoping deep down that this version of Caliborn isn't actually Lord English and ends up being a hero. It sounds like he isn't even real God Tier and from Aranea's exposition, he was never explicitly stated to have received the boon from the "obvious" choice that Yaldabaoth presented him with.

Game over probably is my favorite flash in homestuck because the animation might be the best among the flashes. When you first watch it it's crushing, but just remember everyone who dies comes back... (john enters hero mode and retcons shit), also it has one of my favorite HS songs and is just overall intense... Am I the only one who really liked this flash?

i neither read nor like homestuck, however tumblr wouldn't shut up about it today, so i took a look at their latest update, and i saw this. do i know who is on what side? no. do i know what the sides are? no. all i know is that it's been going on for years and had a glorious-looking 5 minute animation. so congrats, it's got my interest with making me wonder what brought it to this spot.

I'm going to guess that this is a flash of a doomed timeline and in the alpha timeline this was a visio from one of the seers. So ether Rose and Terezi might try to prevent it. I'm afraid we don't have any seers of doom here, so the first option is unlikely. It's not like the death of any of these characters really matters anyway.
But it may be terezi's vision. It may be showing a possible outcome of a decision, such as the coin flip between her and vriska showing the possible deaths of everyone if vriska fought jack. So this could be her vision stemming from a outcome of a decision or choice.

Pretty sure this is a doomed timeline. Think about this:
Aranea said she could heal doomed timelines, and her plan was to doom a timeline so LE can't come to the Universe, then make the timeline the Alpha Timeline, because she said she can heal timelines, so, when it becomes the Alpha Timeline, LE can't come there, and thus, can't go to any other timelines.
What I think will happen, is the remaining characters will attempt to stop Aranea before they each die, or maybe John will change what happens(the latter is less likely, as it would require Andrew to edit the comic, and erase several pages).
It's still viable actually. John rewrote the entire conversation with Dave and Jade by jumping in. Dave even said that something meaningful was meant to happen but John changed it but it didn't doom the timeline. He can literally just post and edited version of the page.
and just like that, all our problems will be gone.

i don't think that gamzee is dead, he is inmortal (in all the timelines he is the only who never dies). If this isn't a doomed timeline 1 half of his body is still alive, if is the happy one probably he still been has a crazy clown who murders everyone, if is the sad one now he back as the ''normal gamzee'' like when he was fighting with terezi and he is very confused.

The ending of this flash actually made me feel some sort of empathy for Caliborn; that look of pure and innocent confusion at having actually encountered someone who truly hates him and being powerless to stop them. All from a mentally stunted child whose only real crime so far had been killing his sister (something he may or may not have been biologically meant to do!) and drawing some crappy fanart. I'm still hoping deep down that this version of Caliborn isn't actually Lord English and ends up being a hero. It sounds like he isn't even real God Tier and from Aranea's exposition, he was never explicitly stated to have received the boon from the "obvious" choice that Yaldabaoth presented him with.

Game over probably is my favorite flash in homestuck because the animation might be the best among the flashes. When you first watch it it's crushing, but just remember everyone who dies comes back... (john enters hero mode and retcons shit), also it has one of my favorite HS songs and is just overall intense... Am I the only one who really liked this flash?

***** In spite of Vriska being dead leading to a variety of several different failures in the game over timeline, Aranea still made the individual decision to not only steal the ring, but also to selfishly try and take the spotlight in homestuck as an "important character" and also attempt to force a timeline that would lead to Caliborn never existing in the first place, therefore her selfishness bears just as much of the blame as the death of Vriska.
