We recently purchased the LaserPecker 2 and used it to engrave dog tags at a conference last week. Worked great except that the only way you can see if the dog tag is lined up correctly under the laser is by taking off the safety goggles, which is obviously not good for the eyes. Do you have advice for this?
Nice review. Can you give me the measurements of the tumbler and the graphics engrave on it. I'm considering buying one for a project but I need to engrave by the size of 1" x 7" tall. Thank you in advance.
Thank you for the great demo! I design and build about six custom vacuum tube guitar amplifiers a year, I use 3mm 6061 aluminum plate for the controls and jacks. But my lettering leaves much to be desired, I came across this affordable laser which I hope can make my control panels look professional. Do you think I can get deep enough engraving on aluminum plate to then squeegee black enamel into the letters, or maybe just use the spray coating to get black lettering on aluminum? I'd be using slab or trolley mode as the panels are 3 inches by 17 inches. I figure I'd machine the holes on CNC, sand and polish the aluminum, then run it through the engraver hopefully getting the text like Volume, Bass, Treble, Input, etc. to land aligned with the holes. Thanks again, I'd be interested in your experience with aluminum and aligning a long piece to something that is already CNC'ed for holes.
If it was a slight curve, it shouldn’t be a problem. The problem is when it gets to be too curved, the laser will be out of focus in different spots. You can split the difference between the highest and lowest spot on your piece. Are you thinking something like a flask? Those seem to work well using that method. If it’s completely round, just use the roller attachment.
Could you help me please, Im trying to engrave flask water bottles but I can’t seem to get the design to go around the whole bottle and the preview for it only shows a line without it turning the bottle and showing me exactly where it is going to go
Thanks for this awesome review! Does it have a camera for you to line up the image precisly where you want it? (size it and center it) or is your only option moving the material around?
Thank you. No, there’s no camera. With how fast the framing feature is, it’s not really necessary. It basically projects an exact outline of your design.
hello mr powell, i went to the site link for the machine, my main useage for this machine would be logos on glassware, for weddings, sports etc do i put masking tape in the laser area on the glass or do i use that spray you mentioned, if the spray can you provide a link so i can get that along with the machine, as i see you get credit. do you have any recommendations for doing glasses, i know i would have to use the rollers.
Hi I just got my machine .. however the trolly function is not working . When I start preview ..it moves fine but when I start engraving it doesn't move and engraves on the machine itself
I just u boxed mine and watched your video but when I go to burn the laser fires but does nothing to the material. The beam definitely doesn’t look as strong as yours. Any suggestions for me?
Very informative, do you think it would spot weld small plastic pieces together? I’m looking for something light weight like this laser for my art work. Trying to stay away from chemicals and thanks excess toxic smoke.
Hey man really hope you see this. For the Thermo part you said settings were 100% power and 100% depth. But you cut time in half by changing to 50% power but didn’t say what you changed the depth to. Did you keep depth at 100%? Thanks in advance!
You said for the dog tags you use what sounded like "this dry molly spray lube" but didn't show the product or how to use it. Can't find it addressed in comments either. If you could expand on that, I would appreciate it.
No it won’t work on copper. It only discolors stainless or will remove coatings from metal like the anodized aluminum business cards I showed in the video.
Good video! Wondering if this will work for my business. Does it engrave as clean as something more industrial? I want to engrave 2-3mm deep into hardwood, mainly wondering if the lines are clean and crisp? cheers

I love this laser for the ability for long projects without having to tile files and hope you line everything up perfectly.

Love the shirt!!!! It should be a nice button up with the same logo though.

Could you show us a little more on how you input the imaging into the software(ie. Prepping the images, like your tumbler)?

Yes but you would need to coat it with something. I use cold galvanizing spray paint. Then you just use paint remover to get it off.

Can it go any direction in trolly mode to do a big piece? Or just in a straight line?
Just in a straight line. That would be cool if they made a model that could drive all over a surface though.

Yes it would

If they’re stainless steel it would mark them. If they’re anodized aluminum it will remove the anodizing.
I bought the L3 and hate it. Only works half of the time. Seriously, it will fail to etch on simple jobs that worked the day before.

How small can it go, like is good for engraving stainless steel jewerly claps ?
The beam is .08mm, so it can go very small
What are the chances this works on painted titanium? Is a fiber laser really needed?
It should be able to burn the paint off any painted surface. It just won’t engrave the metal itself.

You might need to rotate the image
