We visited recently a Zero waste & Plastic free store in Chennai called Eco Indian Store. They are a zero waste(completely plastic free ) organic store in Mylapore, Chennai.
They invited us to do a shop tour and help to spread sustainability across our viewers.

There was a time when all packing is done in newspaper. Shopkeeper make a cone out of the paper depending upon the quantity. The corner is folded an inch at the bottom. Nicely packed ties with coir twine. Suddenly some where appear this plastic and robbed us and our echo system. We used to joke that cinema posters are eaten by cows but today thst is out and plastic choke our system.

@@divyathiruvenkatachari444 Of course it was but the content quickly goes into container. So the % of damage is not enormous. But plastics totally chocked the system in animals sea creatures and our civic amenities.
@@rams5474 That's true. Atleast plastic should have been limited to only the reason it has been invented and definitely not for everyday lifestyle which harms every living being.
Good innovation.... Actually u brought old goldendays back again... Spread your shop franchise in other cities too... Mainly in Bangalore...

We have been packaging all the grocerries in our shop only thru newspaper 20 years back. When you pack in a news paper and throw the packet should not break. We make news paper cover. The waste paper and cardboard we collect grind and make a basket.
Like 30 years ago to buy rice, flour we carry paper bags, this is useful video. Here plastic wastage we need to put recycle bin that also harm to environmental when recycling.
Wish very soon south asians shops change like this.
I thought that some western countries r only concern about such stores...but m so happy that this movement starts here too...I wish someone vl take the initiative in Bhubaneswar city as well...would luv to visit this Chennai store...hats off to u guys.
Enga chettiar kadai kuda 1997 ipdi thaan irukum.. all wood boxes.. everytime we go we will eat pottukadalai and drygrapes....
Chennaites must promote shops like these. Buy from here even if it costs a little more.

This is not the only store. I've been going to Organic Farmer's Market which is in Thiruvanmiyur, chennai. They've traditional rice varieties, millets, oils, dhals, fresh vegetables and fruits (seasonal), and they don't allow anyone to collect oil in plastic either.

Good...all old style ku maaritrukanga.oldee days annachi shop,and maligai shops ipdidan all open la vechurpanga..bt departmental shop ponanga..now all again back to older days ..with modern styles...good👍👍

Hi neeru, I've been searching for your videos and seeing. Kal chatti and iron kadai seasoning are awesome! Would like to watch more health related videos. I'm using ziplock cover in fridge since I can't store too many glass jars in fridge. Is it safe? If not can you suggest an alternative? All the groceries are getting spoiled if we keep outside especially after the pandamic wen we buy in bulk and it's in demand

I never took oil it was for amma..i took only pickle ..I had a small cardboard box which I got some amazon stuff, i just reused.
