    Is the Arctis Pro w/ GameDAC the best dedicated headset for the PC? What is your favorite PC gaming headset?

      super video!
      A small correction, that jack next to the usb port is called the headphone share jack and it serves literally and exclusively to connect a couple of other headphones to it in order to hear what is heard in these

    Great review, I'll be buying these next week. Just one question please? I'll be using the headset on a PS4 PRO do I need to plug them in to a PC via the DAC to update the firmware?

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn't need to update right after purchase. However, in the future if there is a firmware update you need it would need to be plugged in to a PC via USB to update. Most firmware updates would likely be optional anyways. Enjoy the new headset!

    I have a question, I play on ps4 is this headset still worth it if I can't use the high res? Great video btw!

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely. It is a great headset for PS4, lining up with competitors at similar price points such as the Astro A40s and Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2s. (Although, as of today the Elite Pro 2's for PS4 w/ Superamp are on sale at Gamestop online for $130).
      No headsets are capable of true high-res audio straight from current gen systems so it's not really a feature you're missing from the headset/GameDAC itself. It is a feature reserved more for the PC at the moment, and is nice to have if you will be doing any PC gaming.

      If you have a game dac then yes

    Hey nice video mate. Do you know if the DAC will work with the Arctis 9X? I used to play on Xbox hence why I have it but now I play on PC, because of this the chat mixer on the 9X does not work as it’s solely for Xbox. If the DAC can fix this I don’t have to buy an entire new headset! Haha

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It "should." If you want to use them wired with a 3.5mm jack, then yes. The DAC should come with a mini USB to 3.5mm connector piece that you can then use to connect any headset with a 3.5mm cable. However, this DAC can not use the wireless functionality of a headset like the 9X.

    • @frankieboyplays8851
      @frankieboyplays8851 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MURPH FRAGS Thank you for replying :) do you think I will be able to use all the features of the DAC with the 9X? I think the actual headsets are pretty similar.

    • @MURPHFRAGS

      @@frankieboyplays8851 All the presets and everything should work. The frequency response range isn't as wide as the Arctis Pro's but should sound just fine. The only thing that may give you problems is getting the high-res audio to work on PC. It may work just fine but be aware it may not.

    • @frankieboyplays8851
      @frankieboyplays8851 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      MURPH FRAGS Thank you so much for your replies, so the surround sound mode should work still as well as things like the game/chat mix. As long as they work I think I will get it!

      @@frankieboyplays8851Shouldn't be an issue brother. Keep the receipt just in case LMAO but shouldn't have an issue. Other Mix Amps such as the Astro Mixamp TR would be a good option as well...again if you are using a 3.5mm jack.

    I never had a dedicated set. I used my vintage Sennheiser HD & radio stand mic But these look awesome w/ rgb in white. Does the DAC come in white as well?

      They do look great. The DAC is black for both versions.

    are you sure the plates dont come off to make it more of an open back sound? that would be pretty cool.

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be a cool feature, but they don't function that way. If you remove the plates there is a solid piece of plastic behind them.

    If you are playing Call of Duty Warzone, what settings do you find the best on the equalizer?

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to turn off suround sound and keep the low end of the EQ high, high end about midway up, and keep the mids low.

    Do you know how the Arctic 9x compares to the turtle beach elite pros 2

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The main difference is the Arctis 9X are wireless, the TB Elite Pro 2 is not. As far as specs, on paper the Elite Pro 2 will be better (larger speakers, larger frequency response, etc). I've used both and in real world scenario they both have similar (and quite good) sound quality. I find the TB to have a little better low end/bass performance, but both very solid. I will say the TB has a better mic though. If you need a solid mic for streaming or anything like that, think about getting the TB. If you prefer wireless get the Arctis. If neither of those are important and you just want the best sound, you will likely be happy with either, but I personally found the TB to be more "full."

    Great video . Can you help me out . I have this headset with the DAC. How can I use the stream mix when streaming from a PS4 to elgato to a PC ? how does the configuration go?

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Optical from the PS4 to the DAC. Headset to the DAC. USB from the DAC to PS4. Everything out from DAC Line Out to your PC mic in or line in port.

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am usually on point with the replies. I just realized I never got to yours and i'm sorry. To answer your question though, you don't need it. You will miss out on some functionality, and in my opinion without the GameDAC there are better headset options out there. However it comes with a 3.5mm jack so as long as you have a headphone jack on your controller you are set. It would connect like any other wired headset.

    Question if I get these headphones for my ps4 can I connect my xlr mic to it and my stream viewers can still hear me?

    • @MURPHFRAGS
      @MURPHFRAGS  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The short answer is no. If you are wondering if you can plug your XLR mic into this GameDAC and use this setup then no, there is no XLR mic port. You can't implement your XLR mic into this setup. However, if you have a completely different setup with a separate mixer and you just want to use this headset to listen with over 3.5mm to your mixer then yes. If I didn't answer your question let me know because i'm not sure I understood correctly.

    • @MURPHFRAGS

      @@sixto5752 Great :-) Please keep in mind if you are connecting this via the 3.5mm jack only, the LED function on the earcups will likely not work. So, if the LEDs are important to you keep that in mind. Also, they sell this headset significantly cheaper without the DAC, so if you won't be using it make sure to purchase the Arctis Pro without the GameDAC. Have a good day.
