Superman being my favorite hero, as he provokes peace and power, I expected his ending to be something about him finding who he is and what he is truly capable of. I expected him to learn from what went wrong with his counterpart and that enslavement isn't the answer while still recognizing he is the strongest meta-human. none of you thought of this. batman was denied the shift to kill superman because superman knew that when it came down to it, only batman could stop superman. it was superman's plan to have a fake pill in him giving false hope for the heroes that there is a way to stop him. batman would have realised this was fake had he been given the shift.

However, batman has always been suspicious of Superman and at any peculiar circumstance would not hesitate to push the button no matter what the circumstance was. Batman also knew the true power of Superman was infinite. Knowing this, Batman never trusted Superman. and to quote from the comments below... Superman being my favorite hero, as he provokes peace and power, I expected his ending to be something about him finding who he is and what he is truly capable of. I expected him to learn from what went wrong with his counterpart and that enslavement isn't the answer while still recognizing he is the strongest meta-human. All I got out of it was a shitty ending of how it the situation calls for it, anyone could kill superman at a moments notice. What a let down...
