As part of my Portugal travel 2021, while I was exploring north Portugal, I have walked a long way to reach the 516 Arouca bridge - the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world, situated within Arouca, in the Aveiro district of Portugal. You might not know this yet, but the 516 Arouca bridge or the Ponte 516 / Ponte Suspensa 516 (in Portugees) is a very new bridge that opened in April 2021 in Arouca Portugal. With a length of 516 meters (hence its name) and a suspension of 175 meters above the Paiva river, this impressive bridge has surpassed the former world record-holder the Charles Kuonen bridge in the Swiss Alps with 494 meters. Great share Peace, probably just as well you didn't know you had to purchase tickets online because maybe we wouldn't of got to see it!😀 Gotta watch the sunburn Peace, I've had so many skin cancers removed and that was from getting sunburnt as a kid, when we thought putting coconut oil on our skin was the best thing to do!!👍😀💯
First of, thank you so very much Robbie for your comment. I was laughing about the fact you would think maybe you wouldn't see the adventure if I would have gone on the bridge. Well, although I used to be frightened of heights in the past, I've become better with it through the years by actually exposing myself to heights and confronting the fear by doing the exact thing that I'm afraid of. I was actually quite dissapointed not being able to enter the bridge. and funny enough, even after trying to bribe the guys at the ticketing booth it didn't work lol. 😂 In regard to the sunburn, well, both of my hands from the palm to where the short sleeves ended were both baked like a potato lol. But thank god I was treated with fine cream and I have recovered from it after a few weeks. And you bet that I've learned my lesson for life. 😂 👌

@@EnjoyDrawingwithMary well, I was just like you in the past. But if you want to work on it the best way is to face your fear. Start little by little, step by step, start with your balcony. Try to look down from time to time and then go for higher and you'll see it's becoming less of a problem. But it takes Time lol
well, I chalenge myself from time to time, I I also passed a test for a volunteer firefighter where I had to descend with a rope from the balcony of the first floor of the building along the outside wall - and I succeeded! almost died of fear but I succeeded - what an adrenaline shock! hehe :D :D

What an adventure! I know why it is called suspension bridge because we were kept in suspense to the end if you would be successful to gain entrance. At least you saved on the cost of the ticket!
