Los Angeles police won't even respond anymore unless you need an ambulance.
Explain drivers crashed on the way to pickup but nobody was in the car. Crash w an object because got distracted with the lyft app, NEW JERSEY 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 please help the car was totaled by travelers insurance
When using a Lyft express rental. If the accident wasn't you and the driver is a hit and run, but you have a witness. How long is the process? I wasn't hurt and no passenger was in my car.
The answer I was hoping for wasn’t given. I was rear ended in a hit and run and would like to know if Lyft will pay me for the damages to my vehicle?
What happens if I have an accident and I’m driving for Uber, my insurance will not pay for any damages. There must be an insurance that will just cover Uber.
Legal ride share, I was involved in a accident in Florida while riding as a passenger with Lyft. The car I was riding in was rear ended to the point it did a 360 and the guy started running, once my Lyft driver realized it he started persuading him and taking me on a wild car chase while I’m inside and really hurt, he finally caught up to the guy police shows up and ambulance. Long story short running party didn’t have insurance, I hired a law firm from Miami “Big Mistake” it’s been over 2 years nothing has been done, I for seriously hurt was outta work for 3 months and physical therapy no outcome yet. Please let me know if you can help.
Your “consultation” will consist of talking to an non-Lawyer administrative intake person, who will forward you retainer documents to sign without ever even discussing the facts and circumstances with a qualified lawyer.
do drivers get deactivated for getting into an accident? whether they’re offline or online
How do I find a lawyer to sue uber as a driver but no accident lawyer im sueing for deactivate acct.
What if it's not a serious accident, should you still call the police?
if its just a simple fender bender, maybe not, but otherwise yes because the other person might try to claim something that didn't happen. having the police there with statements can prevent that
This didn't help at all, if anything, just a sponsored infomercial for this company.
Totally agree. You have a couple of options based on my research...ONE buy a policy from a company who sells period 1 riders. That will probably void any claims they "didn't know you were doing rideshare and we aren't paying". They would have a tough time saying otherwise now wouldn't they? TWO, buy a Commercial Auto policy. This will run a FT RS Driver about $20 per day. Which is totally tax deductible. I am shopping currently for such a policy. THREE, you want to firewall your Uber driving using an LLC. I am not a lawyer so look into that yourself. Beyond that nobody in this game has any idea what is going on. Truth is most drivers are driving around risking their futures. They are NOT properly insured no matter how much they say you are. Remember as well none of this has any workman's comp benefits and the like. If you get injured and can't work, too bad for you. Another thing I am looking into for myself...insurance against any lost wages.
what if i didnt report uber to insurance agencies?
Police doesn't come unless someone is injured.
Not true in every case.
Really good video. Really glad you guys made it. God forbid I ever have to rely on this advice, but better safe than sorry!
I like to add something when give you insurance information you can give the one that is on the app not necessary to involve personal insurance they will denied any way.
That's what I really want to know, so do I provide my own personal insurance, or the Lyft insurance? And, Lyft sent me a note saying that I am covered, but I don't really know exactly what I will need to pay for example, for damage to my vehicle, that kind of thing.
The Cos will only respond based on what your personal INS does. Uber insurance is CONTINGENT upon insurance sitting in position one. That's why they are so huffy about keeping your ins info current in your account. I would never buy auto ins from a company who doesn't sell period 1 RS riders. Otherwise they can simply say you never disclosed your rs driving and we are voiding your insurance retroactively. Selling you rider ins makes that a mute issue for them. So you pay an extra 10-20 bucks a month to keep their hole cards visible. BTW, they ALL know if you are doing Uber. So if you have say Progressive and do Uber, you are basically pissing money down the drain each month. If you file a claim they will NOT pay. I don't know the name of the database but all of them have your info. Many of them crosscheck State licenses bureaus for Uber licenses. I would not be surprised if Uber sends them lists of their drivers. Also remember, in this info society it doesn't take much to string some passed Amazon queries together by a 3rd party, showing people buying uber gear, and selling that list to Uber. I hate to sound paranoid but WE are independent contractors and it is upto US to protect our business. The RS generally are not your friend.
Portland, OR Police don't do traffic account incident reports unless someone is drunk or someone is seriously hurt. (for real)
Excellent info.
Good info, thanks!
This was so useless... I jus think Lyft and uber insurance dont cover their drivers whether you in period 1 and 2. Especially if at fault doesnt have any insurance the people you stay with who has insurance has to have uninsured motorist coverage other wise you have no case... lawyers want tell you what you need to know and how I know I been in 3 no at faults in the last 9 months... I don't really trust lawyers or the rideshare company's to tell you the truth... lawyers just want explain it and Lyft insurance want cover you unless you are a rider... it's a sad thing...
You can call the bar association and tell them what they're doing that strikes against each lawyer that does that and you can share it on Yelp and social media like you're doing the only thing is you expose those lawyers who are cheating you
Well that's information for anyone getting into a accident in the first place... But what to do as a Uber or Lyft driver. Do you report it to Uber first or would that lock you into using their insurance. But if you have Rideshare coverage on your insurance do you call them first. That's what I was hoping to hear about
When I got into an accident I had to contact uber and use their insurance (mine doesn't cover rideshare driving). This was back in 2016 and wasn't too much of a hassle. Depending on your insurance you may have options.
@@atlantaxdriver3652 so what happened as far as payment, did you have to pay out-of-pocket to have your car fixed, if it wasn't your fault? I know Lyft has its own insurance, I'm just concerned if I need to change my own personal insurance, or just keep what Lyft has.
@@kbanghart The deductible for uber was $800 and the total cost for repairs was over $1200 (so I'd pay over $400 out of pocket). The damage was super minor so I didn't bother with it. You have to factor in how much you lose when you don't drive so for me it wasn't worth it.
Very informative video, Thanks
Why don't they talk about deliveing food- UBER EATS
This guy probably sues Uber for passengers because Uber drivers don’t really have insurance.
