I've ordered the iX3 following a test drive yesterday. It's a very nice place to sit in for a family - definitely the best interior of an electric car IMO, feels v premium in materials and has the best infotainment system. And it's a pleasure to drive - love the steering and handling, absorbs bumps well. It comes fully loaded with every option as standard - panoramic roof, adaptive dampers, high beam assist, heated steering wheel, heated seats, reverse camera...the list goes on. This is how cars should be.
Love Vicky's reviews. She is an excellent reviewer. This channel deserves more subscribers. Really impressed by the iX3's all round abilities, especially considering that it is based on an ICE platform, as opposed to a fully dedicated EV platform from ground up like the Ford.
actually the x3 chassis was designed for both, eletric & combustion in mind. to cut costs. bmw is a smart company. i4 edrive 40 has amazing 1000km challange results. ix3 not bad. for me the ix3 is the most useful car around town today. and outside town, the edrive 40 has best value on the market imho (next to tesla).
The BMW is boring? No way. It‘s one of the really interresting E-Cars actually. It’s not totally overprized, has a good Efficency, Charges fast (with a stable Charging Curve), it’s fully loaded with everything you need and more, looks good (it doesn’t have this oversized „BMW-Kidneys“ like the newer Models) and best at the end: It‘s available in a Human lifespan. and not to forget: you get German BMW quality, despite the fact that the iX3 is made in China! My 2 Cents about the Ford: This is not a Mustang! 👎🏻 And even if you call it just Mach-E, its shape is, for my taste, not pleasing and its quality, sorry, is only Ford, for the price of a BMW. I sat in a top notch long range model and it was disappointing. the materials in the interior, the complete impression for such an expensive car...i'd never spend so much money for that. Sorry, but the big "Tesla-style" screen doesn't help either. Cheers 🖖🏻
This is the first channel on TH-cam I’ve seen say that the GT needs better handling. Out of the 100’s of videos I’ve watched from Demuro and straight pipes and Carwow etc they all said the number one bright spot of the Mustang was how incredible the handling was.
Not really, I was contemplating both as my company car. In the end the choice was made for me due to no stock Mach-e available and I needed a car asap, so it became the iX3. My main reason to compare the two was the price. I could live with missing performance for example if the rest was good, or if I enjoyed the performance a lot I could live with a bit less practicality.
Please, please, PLEASE don't refer to it by that godawful Americnism 'frunk'! We've had boots in the front of 911's and Beetles for decades - why do we have to suddenly give it a new name now, just because Musk says so? (You're one of the best reviewers out there, please don't go down that pathway: if needs be, at least do what Mat Watson does, and call it a 'Froot' - though I really wish we'd just keep it simple!) 🤨
@@thewolfdoctor761 And it apparently worked you up so much, that you had to even edit your original post to try get it right. All of my ICE BMWs have been 100% reliable including my latest 13 year old Z4 which I've now had for 3 years and has again been 100% reliable. No issues at all!
Thanks for another great review. If the choice between the two is for a US buyer, the priorities and choices would indeed be different. There are plenty of places to use the power in the Mach E, and it's very hard to trust the reliability of ANY BMW (and only time will tell), and the US dealers are AWFUL to interact with. Interior materials and design are more attractive in the BMW, but there's a 30-ish mile deficit in range (neither of which come close to, say, the Model Y Performance), and the Mach E looks better...but not great, either (a bit frumpy, really). Very annoyed by any piped-in sound. A transitional Band Aid that I think will only get more annoying over time. But nice to see these cars so well resolved, and look forward to seeing some really great rigs within the next couple of years.
Where did you come up with 4.4 0-60 on the Mach E GT? Depending on who tests it, and not from a roll out lmao, it’s 3.5 - 3.8 seconds. Even if it was from 1 foot roll out that only makes about .2 differents. Everyone wants to do car reviews, everyone thinks they can. Please stop! you lost me with the stupid 4.4 0-60 estimate. Watch the 400 videos of the GT and GT performance, when they actually do the test, (without a 1 foot roll out) good bye
BMW is not on the dedicated ev platform like Mustang BMW just replaced combustion engine with an electric motor ,not ground breaking. It’s just old car with a quick fix. BMW it’s not exiting car feels dated and not special!!! Those two cars are not comparable 😡
Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio with TTV6 which sounds Amazing and handles twice what these cars offers is just a better choice and way hard to pass by enthusiast, unless a mom, nerd, or some old man is targeted by this video 🇮🇹
@@CASILLAS521 nope, only the Ford is quoted as being a ‘performance’ electric suv but, again, what is the relevance of comparing the Stelvio as it is ICE only 🤷♂️
Aside from the ICE vs EV point, Stelvio Quadrifoglio is around £10k more expensive than the iX3. While it is a far more sporting drive and fast, that is only one side of the issue. The Stelvio doesn't have the all round comfort/ride quality, refinement, well built interior, ergonomics, infotainment and practicality of the iX3. Two very different cars, aimed at different customers.

This is like comparing Aldi's Prosecco with Waitrose Champagne. The IX3 is leagues above the Mach-E in every way.
If leagues above means notorious BMW unreliability, then yes. In every way yes.

BMW - no question
Bmw will set itself on fire on the middle of the road in 3 years time, no question
I have one and I regret it, I've become a BMW hater, their customer service is appalling, my car has a charging fault and they are not interested.

I think the BMW is overpriced. For example, you can get a brand-new BMW i3 M sport pro at roughly £38,000 in China.
Another great review Vikki.

Yes the mache gt handling is amazing I have one idk why she said that… any how the ride over patchy roads she’s correct
@@ggill6015 Yes I agree, definitely needed a softer suspension tune. But otherwise yeah, it’s one of the best handling EV’s I’ve ever driven.
I test drove both and I went for the BMW
How did you test drive the GT? I ordered one but I can’t seem to get a test drive it yet
What colour is the BMW? Looks great
Bit of a strange mashup with a comparison between a luxury SUV vs. performance CUV.

£70K for a Ford! What's this world coming too?
The MMEGT is a fine vehicle indeed.
Nice cars🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
No kudos to the Frunk? That is a sizable difference in luggage capacity.
why compare the ix3 with the ford mach e gt.. makes no sense.. compare it with regular mach e
Give me a reason why to take a big loan to buy one of them and not to save and get Dacia duster?
Tomorrow any one could die
The iX3 is such an impressive car. Shows that an ICE-based EV can still cut it if they engineer it well. It’d definitely be my choice here
Nice review and comparison, thank you for sharing! 🔌⚡🚘

Nobody "needs" an iX3 either. An ID.4 or Ioniq 5 is the sensible choice.
Faced with these very choices, my money went to BMW. Sue me🤪
Have an ID.4 right now. Next one is ordered already: an iX3. Ride quality, interior and software are jus5 better
It is a rubbish comparison. Ford is a good compare with BYD, MG, Kia or Tesla.
I guess BMWs without internal combustion engines will be more reliable 🤷

You would think BMW would electrify the X4 before the X3 since that has the better shape for an EV. I'd much rather have an iX4! When is that coming??
Apples vs oranges.

Look at the reliability of dedicated built from the ground up EV's vs converted ICE cars. Old ICE converted cars win
