+Jen Hatcher That's the one consistent trait I've noticed with the Doctor: he's good with kids. I saw Capaldi being a natural around kids and thought "He'll be fine." Eleven has an extra advantage since he's a big kid himself.
AMEN! He knows kids hold this childlike innocents(even if they know of something that's not and yet don't fully understand it). He sees that and just... UGH SO HEART THROBBING!
"Maybe I can find a quiet room and have a think about it" lol when the monks go to tell him that the bells of St John were ringing, the Doctor was in his quiet room thinking ^_^

"My mum said I shouldn't talk to strange men." "She is right." "Are you stranger?" "Oh. I am way past strange. I think I am incredible." Best scene ever. The music in the background is from the episode Vincent and the Doctor.
@@DiamondFire From an American's view, you don't and we do. It's the natural progression of language. People tend to forget that we were British once. Then we got sent to another continent with very little contact. This was followed by war, etc. It would have been strange if our English didn't change. It's still English. Now please stop making fun of our dialect. Otherwise, you will have to make fun of Australia's dialect, too.
I will always remember Matt Smith as The Doctor. He wasn't my first Doctor, but he was my favorite. He was *my* Doctor. Bowties and fezzes will always be cool.
Same but opposite, he's probably not even in my top 5 favourites anymore but Smith and his first series are what hooked me on the show all those years ago, so I'll always have a real soft spot for him.
It's so weird to me that little girl will eventually grow up and grab that mans leg from under his bed and start quoting the first Doctor. This show is great.
Honestly this video just makes me adore Matt Smith's portrayal of The Doctor so much more, seriously Eleven is adorable, he's just so carefree and immature.
Carefree? He is clearly sad. Amy and Rory much? Also, immature? The way he says things probably distracts from the fact that they all are perfectly sensible.
Matt Smith was such an incredible Doctor. It was moments like this that really made him my doctor. He's the youngest to ever play the doctor yet when he reflects on how old the doctor is, it's like you can see the age in his eyes, he does such a great job of portraying a young and silly yet old and worn doctor. I can't wait to see what Capaldi brings to the series
If there's one thing consistent about The Doctor: he's good with kids. Probably helps that deep down, he's a big kid himself. I saw Capaldi being kind to kids and thought "He'll be fine."
Although this probably counts more as him being all over hers XD It's like someone grabbed their threads of fate and got them really tangled up, but hey, could be worse, at least they're stuck running into someone they mostly like, ocassional arguments notwithstanding...
It's just like with the Tenth Doctor, when every time you see Rose on a screen, you shout at your TV "SHES RIGHT THERE!" And then he doesn't even know. When her mum says she's Clara Oswald, I reacted that same way.
+LagamzerGIRL That can't be right. Those two kids who run across the screen are the same age. We know from the episode 'father's day' that their is 6-8 years age difference between Rose and Mickey. In the episode Rose was a 6 month old baby while Mickey looked somewhere between 6 and 8. Soz.
When The Doctor pointed out at Clara's mom, you can clearly see she's talking to someone who closely resembles Jackie Tyler, Rose's mom. Too many coincidences. Probable a nod to the fans. But, yeap, a clear reference to Rose, Micky, and Jackie.
I love watching Matt Smith interacting with kids as the Doctor. He just manages to pull it off perfectly. That guilty conscience from all the terrible things he's had to do just barely peeking through, hidden from the sheer joy of being around something so innocent and pure.
"Good plan..." I love how The Doctor's just quietly filing that away for the next time he misplaces something in the Tardis... I think that one of the best parts of Matt's portrayal of the Doctor is the fact that he's so childlike. A child can be distracted momentarily from something that makes them sad or in pain, but they'll always come back to it eventually. Matt's Doctor can almost always find something to be happy about, but at the end of the day, he always has to face down the evil.
Over 900 years old, has millions of thoughts through his head a second, knows how to operate a machine that isn’t really a machine, knows how to basically control time, yet shows compassion and love and is always willing to learn, no matter who is the teacher. 11 will always hold a special place in my heart.
Ahh I get this! I may be wrong, but is the Doctor visiting little Rose from the past because he's sad about Amy and Clara's loss (you can see a blonde haired girl at the beginning who could be Rose playing with a young boy who could be Mickey) and he just accidentally bumps into little Clara Oswald there too? It would make sense because it looks like the same park from "Father's Day" AND you can see a woman who might be Jackie chatting to Clara's mother in the park. Plus, with the entire universe to travel round, the chances that the Doctor chooses to visit a small park in the middle of London for no apparent reason seem pretty slim... If this is true, then it's really sweet how the Doctor is still returning to Rose after all these years. :')
Peter Andrew - I wasn't taking any notice of a blonde in the foreground. I was thinking Smith was talking about Karen Gillan, when he said he was looking for his friend.
@@stekenxu So either Father's Day can't happen because Rose isn't a baby, or Father's Day can't happen because Mickey is a baby? Yeah, no... Nice idea though.
Probably the best prequel. And so well acted by both the main actors. And how nice to see a really positive TH-cam comment conversation going on under this as well with people actually being nice to each other! Keep up the good work :)
It was just a minisode, a short sequence which is cute by the fact that he found Clara but he was about fifteen years too early her being just a child and she was right there.
Look at this video though! From the "Time of the Doctor" you see the building complex that Clara lives in, but do you notice? It looks the same as the one Rose lived in! And LOOK at this! Those two children in the first two seconds, don't they look like Rose and Mickey? And the woman Clara's mum is talking to, doesn't she look like Jackie? So clever.
This was the first ever clip I saw of Doctor Who. I loved it so much that I watched some more clips from the show then I ended up watching the entire series from beginning to end. It's been five years and Doctor Who remains one of the best shows I've ever watched!
Robert Lythgoe that it does, so I truly think it's them, and the Doctor went back to see Rose because he was sad that he lost Amy and Rory, and Clara twice

i really miss how 11 interacted with kids and people, he was always kind and saw the value in every living being. i still like 12 though. he's a bit grumpy, which is funny and entertaining in it's own way. but i feel like the contrast between 11's ''happy, childish'' side and his darker side, where he carries the weight of his past and his guilt, was one of the most interesting things i have ever seen in a character. my theory is that underneath it all, the doctor is a very very sad man. he has seen a lot, and probably lost twice as much. He killed off his own race and he is lonely. every companion he ever had is dead, and he knows that eventually, they will all die, while he is still alive. i think that above all, he just wants to forget it. to live without sorrow and regrets, but he can't. so, a lot like how people with depression hide their sadness by faking a smile and just laughing it away, the doctor tries to hide his own sadness. not only from others, but from himself too.
ProfessorRaskolnikov that's not exactly what i meant. i mean that a lot like how depressed people laugh extra hard, so does he, but i don't think it's genuine. as far as i am aware that has never been said in the show so it most certainly is a theory
This is such a super duper sweet video of young Clara with the 11th Doctor... I love it :) Btw... Does ANYBODY know the song name that was playing in this video???

Imagine Capaldi in this scene...

ProfessorRaskolnikov that's not exactly what i meant. i mean that a lot like how depressed people laugh extra hard, so does he, but i don't think it's genuine. as far as i am aware that has never been said in the show so it most certainly is a theory
