Ferrer forever underrated. We're talking about a man who, in 2013, at the highest moments of the Big 4 era, finished the year ranked 3rd! And the previous two years 5th.
Nope. Boring repetitive play from all current top 20 players is what we are stuck with now. There will never be another era as great as 2005-2020 @@yaromendy8346
@@cuorenerazzurro1661if current Djokovic can still cause trouble to Sinner and Alcaraz, then prime Murray would def beat them. Murray were playing at or very near prime Djokovic level in 2015-2016.
what? courts were slow during this time and it was literally long rallies with less creativeness. players hardly drop shotted and were hoping the opponent makes an error. slow courts literally destroyed most of the slices and net play.
Yea, its power tennis because the current era of players are extremely inexperienced. All they do is hit the ball hard but the game isn't just about hitting hard. The prime big4 would be able to neutralize their pace and place balls in positions that makes it very uncomfortable for their opponents to hit their best shots. Which is why the pace isn't as fast back then, because it has a layer of strategy and intelligence. These days players are just standing like 15 ft behind the baseline smacking the balls left and right hoping for a winner or dropshot when opponent is pushed far out of court, its just brainless brawl but its definitely more pleasing to watch in the eyes of the layman because of how fast the ball flies and how much court they have to cover. There's really only Djokovic left on the tour that can punish their one dimensional play, but still suffer some losses because he is physically older and no longer in his prime.
So true. ¿How many grand slams and Masters 1000 would have Ferrer, Del Potro and Wawrinka won in 2020-2024? Forgetting about Djokovic and Nadal of course.
Easily more than that. He made 11 finals lost 8 all to Novak and Roger. He also made 10 additional semifinals and all lost to the big3. Basically he could have won 21 slams given his same performance.
There will never be a tennis era like the golden era we just witnessed. Sad that it's ending. Hopefully Carlos and jannick can keep it going for the next 20 years lol
Both players at their peak were incredible returners. Both having to work so hard to hold their service games - in the end Murray was able to win a few more cheap points on his 1st serve. It’s so tiring to watch them slug it out - two absolute super athletes.
They were kind of similar between them... While Murray was a step ahead of Ferrer and was able to clinch N1 despite being slightly behind the big 3 don’t forget that Ferrer was able to be World Number 3 while Murray, Roger, Nole and Rafa played. Two absolute beasts and top fighters.
Amazing players but too weak in shotmaking. Murray did find that extra edge in 2016 but his overall career, just like Ferrers is marked as a defensive fast players career, not an aggressive baseliner like most top players are. Looking at the level Carlos and Jannik are producing now I am happy that tennis is powering up even more.
I think your analysis is a tad disrespectful to Murray here. Murray is and always will be one of the top players in history. He's more comparable to Fed, Nadal, Djok etc than the likes of Ferrer.
Ferrer forever underrated. Now players like Alcaraz and Sinner have more shots variety and courts make the game more physical. However, they are tactically much worse than Murray and Ferrer. Murray is a top 10 player of all time, and Ferrer top 40. Everybody knows Ferrer lacked weapons but he was so great and incredibly consistent. In today's game he would be a multiple grand slam champion. Bad luck he had to fight the big 3 and Murray, Del Potro and Wawrinka. Would’ve won a slam or two during this current era for sure.
he had great career depite being only 1.75cm, he had crazy stamina
I’d agree with the exception of federer, who was wayyy below his regular level that year, but still finishing 3rd in incredible!
There are no more players like this.
I agree

Классика тенниса. Как будто вчера было, а уже 10 лет прошло. Спасибо за всё Энди и Давид. Это было легендарно.
Tennis of this era has much more creativity than today’s…It’s just power tennis these days except some few players like Alcaraz.
