You'll find that size 12, 14 and 16 will be fine with your needle threader. If you go any smaller than this then the eye of the needle begins to reduce in size and that can cause the threader to not function as intended and could possibly cause damage (I'm not saying that smaller than this won't work, as it may do, I just haven't personally tried smaller than that with this particular machine). The most important thing, and most common cause of damage to the needle threader that we see, is making sure your needle is in the correct position before using your needle threader! Your needle should be in the most upright position before using your threader, or it will be misaligned and can cause damage to the threader too!
