The Charger has a on/off Button on the backside. So you Don‘t Need the 2 step off turning ;)

Thanks Smiddie but I've found that I no longer need the two step process. Seems to turn of ok the first time now.

The power accessory hub on its accessory output gives 8 amps. 8 amps multiplied by 12 volts gives 96 watts. While a typical quick charger draws about 36 watts. So the power accessory hub should be able to handle it, accept of course if you already have a lot of other power hungry devices connected to the power accessory hub. Don’t think this is the case.

The battery voltage will drop fairly soon after shutdown, & the only current your device is drawing is likely milliamps for the tiny LED indicator light. It will shut down, leaving a normal charge for starting. I was an aerospace electronic technician in a "former life," but I still remember the basics.😉

Nick thank you... I know absolutely zero. I will leave it on tomorrow after I shut the bike off to see if it will eventually shut off. Thanks for watching and commenting !

Hey Robert, I’m currently installing the same thing but one that goes straight to the accessory ports on the side of the fuse box. It was my way of skipping the usb piece. I’ll send you a review on it

Robert, your power accessory hub has more than enough power to operate your charger and will solve your issue without the two step process. I operate my Bushtec trailer lights directly off the accessory hub with no issues! I have a 23 exactly like yours and watching Cruiseman has cost me a lot of money! Great stuff though!!

    • @robertwhitemoto

Robert, thanks for sharing the video. That was a nice clean install and I bet things will get even better once you get your Bluetooth wireless completed. Your bike looks sharp in that red and the wheel stripe finishes things up. I think we all have a paint scratch or chip. That happens. Well done my friend. Enjoy the ride and keep the camera rolling.

Larry my friend thank you for the kind words!! I am very much looking forward to the wireless car play working. Cruiseman is the exception... not one chip or scratch on that man's machine... he is serious about paint quality !! :) Always appreciate you watching and commenting! I think putting your bike in accessory mode just draws enough power to bring down the voltage below 12.5. However, I suspect that it could take longer when you have driven the bike, because than the alternator really gets to to its job and it will take longer for the voltage to drop. Just a theory. I personally wouldn’t worry about the light of the charger staying on for a while. That little LED draws close to nothing of power and won’t drain the battery.

I also have the same quadlock charger head, also, like you coupled with the vibration dampener. However, I went from a power distribution block similar to yours (but mine is a Healtech "Thunderbox") This block has a connection to the switched live terminal next to the bikes fuses nr. the battery. Therefore when the bike ignition is on, the charging head is on, and when ignition is off similarly the charging head is off. The power distribution block is fused anyway, so less leads going direct to battery. I have a few (not many) other accessories running off the block like Muth mirrors and it handles them all no problem.

A lead acid battery has 2.2volts per cell when fully charged and when put in series, will have 13.2 volts if in good condition. If that charger will only shut off in automatic, at 12.5 volts, that is a problem. By turning the accessory switch on, you are actually draining your battery to a lower voltage condition. You might want to think about wiring the control unit for it to a place that is easy to access, so you can control it easier. Ride safely Robert. Thanks for the video. I have a Cierro phone holder with built in wireless charger that only comes on in accessory and in run, of course. I think it's a great little unit.

If you shut the engine off with the kill switch and then turn off the ignition you should get the results you are looking for. The headlights will pull the voltage down before you turn off the ignition.

You can use those zip ties to change motorcycle tires, but they are usually used for air conditioning ducts. I would just leave it on, because once it reaches 12.5, or wherever the threshold is set, it will automatically turn off.

Robert, we got scuff marks on our 2021 Goldwing seat. My wife wears a leg brace and to get on the passenger seat she has issues and scrapes the seat. That vinyl material really is poor on a $30K motorcycle. We’ve owned “other” brands at the same price point (we love motorcycle touring) with good leather seats and never had the issue with scuffs.

I like this setup quite a bit. I have had good luck with QuadLock on my other bike. Do you have a QuadLock Motorcycle - 1" Ball Adaptor between the short extension arm and the Vibration Dampedner? Or was there another ball adapter you used? QuadLock adapter comes with that extra blue piece that I guess you just toss.

CK, sorry for the delayed response here... TH-cam doesn't always let me know when someone has commented on one of my videos. I use to have a three way connection.. Helmet to Bike, Phone to Helmet, Phone to Bike... that was giving me fits and not working. Once is disconnected one of those connections (Phone to Helmet) everything started working fine. My calls, and Siri now work from phone through bike, to my helmet.

Hooly I'm sorry... I just got lucky I guess with finding a hole on that right side of the bike. My suggestion is to just keep trying. I'm not sure taking off the middle cowl would help but that's an option also. if you freeze the video at 17:16 you'll see where I've removed a screw from the top of the black plastic outer shell right beneath the wire I'm holding. Removing that screw allows you to pull that middle cowl out a little and might free up some space. Good luck my friend.
