Fantastic! You play it perfect! Some positions in this wonderful bassline are very sophisticated. 80´s are best! In comparison today´s music sounds so simple.
so good! madonna had some kickass synth bass in her songs at that period. I think most of them were by Patrick Leonard who produced a lot of those songs, however he's not credited in this one. I still wonder who is the person that actually wrote all those bouncy synth basslines for Into the Groove, cherish, like a prayer, who's that girl...
This was Steve Bray. Pat Leonard from True Blue onwards although he did musically direct and play keyboards on The Virgin tour in 1985 . He also did the original Baywatch theme bass for Peter Cetera from "Save Me" originally used for Season One on NBC. It sounds very similar to Like a Prayer and Express Yourself (original and local mix) even though the latter was Stephen Bray too.
Perk on the Bass Thanks Mate! Started practicing synth bass earlier this year. 80’s music is the best era for practicing these funky lines. Thanks for watching! Merry Xmas!
Thank you 🙏 That is a Moog Subsequent 37. I sold this unit a while ago as it was for me a bit of an overkill. Currently I own Moog Subsequent 25 (almost same features but in a more compact package).
@@musicmanic1979 Cool. I have the Sub 25 for the same reason; and I used the money saved (by not getting the Sub 37, I mean) to get an Alpha Juno 2 and one of my drum machines (I think the DrumTraks at the time)! Btw, original bass line was an Roland MKS-80, aka the “Super Jupiter”. Peace Edit: Also, “papa don’t preach” is another good bass part if you live never tried it. Not as intricate as this one, but fun to play as well.
One of the most kick ass synth bass lines ever created.
Fully agree... I cannot think of any line which could ever beat this badass masterpiece. Often increase volume beyond sanity on my Denon AH-D5200
Never gets old. Such an insanely hooky/catchy groove and sound.
I started playing it on gtr with an octave pedal and sounds great

Killed it! This Moog is so sick.
Fascinating!!! Watched with my mouth wide open.
It's just perfect. You actually got the whole baseline right. Congrats !! It sounds amazing
Epic
Stephen Bray always conjured up amazing bass lines ... “Express Yourself”, “Causing a Commotion”
Bussin' beat! Endless classic jam. Not like the junk u here on the airwaves of radio in today's era.
There's lots of great modern music out there, just not on the radio
brillante!!!
Boss mode !

Didn't Quincy Jones work on that album?
I think it was Stephen Bray
@@batmandalorian5504 Yeah this was Steve Bray and I believe he was keyboardist on the track too.
@@batmandalorian5504 correct.

COVER OF DOLCE VITA PLEASE!!
Original bass sounds is Yamaha DX 7?
I am not sure. Could well be.
Probably Roland MKS-80
🤯🤯🤯
Surely the original is triggered by a sequencer right?
@@lemmoneye yes it is
Very cool! What's the Moog you use? Love it!

@@79Glitch Thanks for your great insights 😊 Have to check these out. Have a great day!
Hi can you get me the synt bass round of the song
can you get me the synt bass ride?
Well done! Very close to the original! - what snare is that?
Thank you. Sorry I wouldn’t be able to answer that.
@@musicmanic1979 But didn't you program it / recreate it for this cover?
@@DavidFilskov I just used an online track I found on internet and played on top of it.
Aah - that makes sense.
That's not one shot snare. It's layered. Clap, snare and tom mixed. I have the original stems.
Awesome! Did you note anywhere which patch you're using on the 37?
Cheers! I created this patch myself.
💥🙊💓💓
Why won’t anyone just upload the base part isolated by itself I don’t wanna hear it with everything else
Tight.... Tight Tight TIGHT!!!!
