0:29 Great freeze frame there those birds getting outta dodge! Our mechanical bird is here to sing loudly! 6:13 Reminds me of my late uncle James Joyce (Irish family, born in Scotland lived in England) who served in the British royal navy aboard several aircraft carriers he used to tell me how incredible it was to watch Harriers come in to land VTOL Crazy LOUD but awe inspiring none the less!! Rest easy Jim
Why would a fighter need to fly at slow speed? Another dumb idea, and wasted tax-payer money. Good for the defense contractors, and politicians getting kickbacks from the defense contractors
@@crashburn3292 Wind is a bigger problem on an aircraft carrier landing than speed. A slow aircraft will just blown off the deck by a gust of wind. This is why they must land at some speed and be stopped with the tail-hook.
Excellent job! Thanks for posting this. From where I was standing, I couldn't see the hover demonstrate very well, so it's so cool that you got such excellent coverage of the lift fan door opening and closing! Thanks again!
I saw, along with many others, two of these dogfighting or 'tw#tting about' over Great Yarmouth a couple of months ago and I can definitely say that they are very nimble. 👌
Well you've gone and succeeded again Dafydd amazing vid pic just brilliant as always those fighter jets are heaven to watch & listen to. Thank you so very very much
When they do things like the tail stand, you gotta zoom out so background is visible or there's no speed perspective. Actually that holds for a lot of the footage. We have NO idea how fast the airman is going relative to the ground.
Good point---no doubt it grates on them! The reality, however, is that the Bay Area is still a concentration of Navy activity (Alameda) and they have no problem with the flow of $$ that brings to the local economy.

Many thanks hazel
Flawless hovering.respect from turkey
Thanks for watching.
Awesome. The hills of San Francisco are alive with the sounds of music. I saw and heard the F35 live and it is awesome.
3:20 - The computer has the horizontal stabilizers jumping to keep the aircraft stable at slow speed. Amazing. Thanks Dafydd.

They were actually over the Breydon marshes but it's near enough. 😉
Such a dominant fighter jet

What's your recording equipment? It's so clear! Great work!
Thank you, I use a Sony fdr ax53 camcorder. The stabilisation is great on it and 4K also.
Appreciate you reaching out 👍
Thanks Big D! The seagulls are saying “ Boss Bird is here! Vamos! “
Cool show yesterday! We watched a bit farther away at Treasure Island. Still a blast. IMHO the F35 had more aggressive maneuvers than the F22.
pretty sure i saw u haha. great weather today for the show
I was at gateway pavilion pier on the right corner 👍
@@DafyddPhillips haha yep that was you then
@@kangsterizer heading back to LA today. Seen some pics of the raptor and the humidity looks awesome there ✈️💨✈️💨👌
@@DafyddPhillips hah awesome! I couldn't see today, hoping for something like that tomorrow.
Amazing jet😊
Hello! Curious to hear what video camera you use and wondering if you use any stabilization from tripods to help with shooting. Awesome video!
Thank you. I’m using a Sony fdr ax53 camcorder. No tripod just hand held. The stabilisation system on this camera is great!
That is me up there.
This is what I imagine when I think of a fire breathing dragon.
Davz is in San Francisco! Stay safe!
It’s a beautiful city. Loving it here ! ❤️
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Context and perspective is more important than being able to count the rivets on the aircraft. TH-cam is FULL of overzoomed video.
what spot did you go to see this i am going tomorrow
The gateway pavilion pier, Not crowded. Good luck! ✈️✈️👍
Help Ukraine!
I’m surprised San Francisco officials allowed any military aircraft into their airspace. 😂 Keep your head on a swivel out there my friend.
