Ive owned the original shield since its debut in 2012. And I have to be honest. I own and have owned many pistols. And this is overall the most reliable and best handgun I have ever owned. Carry 8+1 and extra 8 round mag and 10 round Extended Mag. I have heard nearly nothing but good reviews about the Plus other than the trigger. As always great video. Glad you love your plus as much as I appreciate and love my Original Shield. Be well and have a blessed day.
When I carry a pistol that is "NOT" pocket carry; the S&W Shield Plus Optics Ready with "BOTH" a Streamlight TLR-6 (light/laser combo and a Swampfox Sentinel red dot on it.. IS WHAT I CARRY. it's a fantastic personal protection firearm! Light, concealable, thin, accurate and extremely reliable. OVER 1,000,000 Shield Pistols have been produced since it first came out.
I was thinking about upgrading my Shield as well. I'm in at 650 rounds as of last Friday. I think I'm ready to invest some money in this little guy. I like it a lot.
You can get that extra round in, just put more pressure on it. Load 13 rounds and leave the magazine for week in the drawer to condition the spring - use the 10 round one meanwhile. Its super tight to get that 13th round in with zero margins but it does go in.
I wanted to give you an update on your advice. I tried my absolute best to get 13 in there and it was not happening. So I left it loaded with 12, now lo and behold it fits 13 👍 I swear by everything I've been loading magazines for over a decade this is by far the toughest spring out of the box I have ever experienced.
I have a couple of videos where I feature the Glock 43x. I like the shield plus better but I really do appreciate how they improve the ergonomics on the 43x as compared to the other models.
@@brokeboytactical4397 . Yeah, I love my shield I've been a Glock guy forever so for some reason I just shoot them better. I have a couple m&ps that are great too.
I actually briefly owned that gun a few years ago. I was surprised at how minimal The recoil was for a polymer 45 ACP. Is shot very similar to my Metro arms American classic compact Commander. Very similar to a 1911. I still kick myself for trading it 😂
Its such a great gun. You get such a good purchase that its way more accurate than previous Shield models. What do you think of the grip? I personally think its the best of all concealed carry guns out. My advice, get yourself a Bucks leather with kydex holster and you can wear it all day without skin abrasions due to hot spots. That holster improved my carry comfort so much I stopped carrying smaller .380s. Congrats on your new piece brother!
Thanks man 👊 I would definitely agree I was telling my wife that this is definitely a keeper. I like it FAR better than my glock 43x! I took it to the range today and uploaded a video. You should check it out the pistol performed excellently I had one done round out of ammo Incorporated box but that's refurbished stuff.
My next handgun… I have the Shield 2.0 in 40 and 9mm and love them… I definitely want the plus but I know it will retire my 2.0’s ( maybe not the 40 but the 9mm). Enjoyed the video btw
Mine started out very tight as well i couldnt get 13 in . I put about 500 through mine and kept trying to force them in amd it eventually happened. They are all tight like that and require some tlc. This is what i bought my wife to carry.
Hey man I'm so sorry it took me this long to get back to you. It eventually broke in just like you said. I had a feeling that was the case but I still got a free magazine out of it from Smith & Wesson 😂. Thanks for watching bro 👊
Sorry I was getting my Hornady mixed up with Federal and kept saying critical duty instead of defense 😂 I'm so sorry. I'm used to my Glock 43x. The critical duty performed better than the critical defense out of that firearm that's what I used and am usex to. I just couldn't stop saying Federal critical duty 😂😂😂. I'm also used to shooting Federal American Eagle 115-grain but I got stuck with this Ammo Incorporated so I kept confusing it as well. You're absolutely one hundred percent correct critical duty is optimal and barrels 4 inches or greater and critical defense is for under 4 inch barrels. 💯
I absolutely love my Shield plus 9! I am very accurate with it at the range. My LCP max is my “always tool” and my Shield is my next easy to conceal tool, I can even pocket carry it too with the ten round mag in my kydex pocket holster. I actually got rid of the p365 because of the very short grip that always fought its way out of my grip. My Shield is a keeper! BTW, keep the vids coming, man. Your channel gives some great, down to earth advice. Steady follower here on in!
Thanks bro!!! Pound it!👊 Yeah I tested the 365 and don't get me wrong I was surprised how much of a smooth shooter it was for it size but there was just something inherently uncomfortable about it for me. After about a hundred rounds I found my right hand getting fatigued which isn't normal for me. Definitely love my Shield Plus! Absolutely excellent firearm. I was thinking about adding a red dot to mine but I'm a traditionalist and I'm pretty good with irons so I don't know if I want to mess with a good thing it would require a lot of training and some compatible sites. However I am thinking about getting a tlr6 for mine. Again man I really appreciate the comment thank you

Iove my shield plus but I like the grip and accuracy of my Glock 43x a little bit better. Both are great choices though

The M&P 45 Shield also an awesome weapon 👍

Nice gun! I’ve heard that the M&P’s are solid guns. Looks like it stays on target well. Great size for everyday carry. Be safe, Bro!

It's one of the only firearms that I didn't have to upgrade right out of the box. No new sights or talon grips needed 👍

Hornady Critical Defense = meant to expand with micro carry guns
Hornady Critical Duty = meant to expand with full size guns
💯

Brokeboytactical here guys!!! I keep saying Federal when I mean to say Hornady sorry about that 😂
